I also ordered the pork belly, expecting that crispy, flavorful kind I'm used to, but it was very soft--almost like boiled pork belly. I only received two small sliced pieces, which was a little disappointing. I also ordered the cucumber roll, but that one may have been my mistake. I was expecting a no-rice cucumber roll, but it was literally a sushi roll with just cucumber inside. I did enjoy the fried tofu and the ramen. Love the fact their menu is mostly available in half. Service: Overall okay. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. As one of my last meals in Vegas I opted to try another AYCE sushi place. The ambiance is a pretty typical sushi bar. Went here for the lunch special which is $28 per person. The sushi options were delicious and a wide array. Nigiri: had a bit too much rice to fish ratio. My favorite was the garlic salmon. The unagi is typically my favorite but these were not as warm as it should be. It was a weird temp and just not a good texture. Handrolls were a perfect ratio to seaweed and rice. I loved the salmon and avocado; and it came with a huge amount of salmon. The rolls were okay; a bit too much sauce on a lot of them, but it was okay. Surprisingly I loved the grilled pork belly app, ordered so many! No dessert was available, but thats okay. For 3 people with a little over 15% tip it was $110. Not terrible, but for a lunch special it was a little bit more expensive then I thought about. However the service was fast and prompt. read more

We've been coming here for about 15 years--both dining in and grabbing takeout--whenever we wanted something nearby. With the neighborhood growing, you'd expect management would want things to improve, not decline. Unfortunately, after giving it several chances, we've decided we're done. The portions have gotten smaller, and the quality just isn't there anymore. The tempura, for instance, now comes with tiny shrimp (about the size of my pinky), the vegetables are not only smaller, but are cardstock paper-thin, and even the batter falls flat. Sushi pieces have shrunk and fall apart, and the teriyaki chicken has been inconsistent--either dry and thin or overly thick without that proper char. read more

I was a little skeptical, I was recommended by a client to this place and had seen the Yelp reviews before hand. I'm not one to usually deter from bad reviews but it does make me pay attention to different things in my own experiences. Lunch time on a Sunday wasn't busy. Only two other tables were seated when we walked in and they had a big 4 table party come in towards the end of our meal. If it's busy I could see wait times might be an issue they seem rather limited on space. Into my opinion of the restaurant, I really enjoyed this spot as well as my party. Had 3 AYCE and two rolls for my daughter. Ordered a couple rolls that I thought looked good, and ordered a total of 4 half rolls from two different wait staffs recommendations. I liked all of them, not a single one was bad. They definitely do have a favoring towards spicy tuna rolls but still plenty of options on their menu. They even have a couple unique options that made their menu stand out to me. Try the 911 roll spice lovers, definitely worth try. Staff was nice and gave great recommendations. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. I don't have anything negative to say about Sushi Tachi. I'll be back, they have some other things I want to try out in the future. read more

Yelp Review 2024 #43: We've been going to this AYCE sushi restaurant for over 12 years because it's the closest to home and has been decent. They closed for months for renovations and re-opened a couple of months ago. They don't take reservations and never have. They weren't busy but we had to wait 10-15 minutes. When I walked in, the place looks the same except they took out 2-4 tables, and the sushi bar is now non-functional. You can't sit at the sushi bar, no more sushi chefs behind the bar. All your food, whether hot food or sushi/ nigiri and hand rolls, are all prepared in the kitchen. I'm not comfortable with that. But we were already here so, we might as well stay. The servers looked very tired. They've been standing and walking all day probably and you can tell. They were moving slow. I felt bad for them. I got hot green tea and it was very watered down and didn't taste like green tea at all. It was just boiled water. Their soda from a machine was flat. What we ordered: Shrimp Tempura (not fluffy): 3/5 Ah Chi Chi (it doesn't have the green sauce anymore): 3/5 Lasagna Roll: 4/5 Orion Roll half order: 3/5 Tachi Roll half order: 4/5 March Special half order: 4/5 Calamari (chewy and rubbery): 1/5 Salmon Nigiri x 5 (but only 1 order was given to us so we asked for our other 4 orders - an easy fix. But the salmon to rice ratio was good): 4/5 Salmon Skin Handroll (the salmon skin was not crunchy but chewy): 1/5 Garlic Tuna Nigiri: didn't arrive at all The raw food took longer than the cooked food. It was strange. They used to have stamp cards so you can get free AYCE sushi after the 9th visit but they don't do that anymore. I don't know what they renovated but this place has gone way downhill. This was the last hope for AYCE sushi in the north side of town. But not anymore. All hope is lost. Drive the extra miles to Chinatown. This place was just okay in my opinion. The staff is really nice and the restaurant is clean. However, there is limited seating so if its busy, im sure the wait is long. The rolls were pretty average, one thing I noticed is a lack of variety. Most of their rolls are similar with cucumber, avocado and spicy tuna. The only thing that was different was which sauce they put on. The sauces were also lacking, which made some of the rolls dry. I don't think I will be coming back to this spot as I am not a huge spicy tuna fan, but if you are, then check this place out. read more

Super sad this place is going downhill. The wait staff are always so friendly and welcoming but the last two times I've been there I was given burnt salmon and not even the type of salmon I ordered. We thought the first time it was just a bad day for the chef but it happened twice and the second time it was absolutely charred. Idk who enjoys burnt salmon but it's not me. We also ordered the teriyaki chicken and we were served what looked like Costco frozen teriyaki chicken, three pieces with very little sauce on it. It had that rubbery texture that you would get from a microwaved tv dinner. I used to recommend this place to friends and family out of town but it seems like they're going through some negative changes. Ate an early dinner with our kids the other day... My husband and I got the all you can eat, while my children got other nonsushi options which they did enjoy. However, the sushi was... almost inedible. I don't leave reviews often however these rolls were sloppy, falling apart, felt like what should have been inside the rolls was piled on and I ordered two baked rolls both of which were still served almost completely raw, disappointing as I'm pregnant. Anything marked safe for me to eat with fish came undercooked even if not marked as such (they list a star next to rolls that are raw or undercooked, all options I chose did not have a star). The lasagna roll was managable for me but the volcano I left for my husband. The fish appeared all very low quality, off coloring and we left contemplating if we subjected ourselves to food poisoning. Adding that the price was outrageous for what was served and the required 18% gratuity for a party of 5 is insane for a family with 3 children. While the staff was nice and service was okay, the waiter would just drop the plates at the very end of the table instead of to whoever ordered it. It was odd. We will not be returning and miss the sushi spot that went out of business just up the road, that is the only reason we tried this place and regret it as we NEVER had a bill that high at the other spot and food was much better. read more

I asked if she wanted to go somewhere else, but we were starving and I've had good sushi at hole in the wall places before. So maybe this was the case here. Nope. We were greeted and ordered water and hot green tea. Tea was hot but zero flavor. More like hot water. We did the AYCE for $33 a person. Ordered some nigiri garlic tuna, super white tuna, octopus, the JJ roll, the Lisa Lisa roll, shrimp tempura app, garlic edamame,miso soup and house salad with ginger dressing. Garlic tuna came out with no garlic ponzu and just regular tuna, super white was fishy, miso was Luke warm, the dressing was very Mayo tasting, shrimp tempura was also Luke warm and not crispy. Garlic edamame came out regular and they took it back and literally just dumped hit sauce on it. The rolls were good and you can order half rolls which is nice. Just not very fresh on the fish side. Service was spotty. Started with one server and then had to look around and then 2 other servers started to come to check on us. Had to literally stack dishes to get cleared. Kinda seemed a little disorganized. All in all, nothing to write home about. Just enough to do this review. Won't be going back. The only thing that I liked about Sushi Tachi was the food. Everything else was just really poor. First of all , it is hard to call them. When I initially called, the phone just rang and rang. I had to drive over to reserve a table with someone who was not listening very well. This should have been the first sign that this was a bad idea. My friends and I arrived a little bit early. Our table was already ready. The waiter's communication skills were very poor. He didn't really communicate with us very well about who was on separate tickets. He took our orders, but nobody knew who to bring the food to. On top of that, they are very very slow. They took forever to take orders and bring out food. Each time they brough something to us, they were giving the order to the wrong person. It was so so slow. It took 25 minutes to get our check. We asked them twice for this. They were too busy talking to the people at the table across from us. They finally brought us our checks and we waited again. We all were getting very impatient. We finally decided to just get up and go pay. I would not recommend this place. There are far better restaurants with better service. Sushi Tachi doesn't really care. read more

We come here almost weekly. It's far and away our favorite sushi spot. Vilma knows us on sight and has my preferences down to memory. A year ago, they renovated and upped their game. It's cozy and small, with a pizzeria booth vibe, but the food is delicious. The fish is fresh and the rolls and nigiri prepared properly, so you don't lose ingredients. The shrimp tempura was probably the best item. The miso soup had good flavor but was like warm. The super white tuna and garlic tuna were good quality but way to thick, which a lot of people like so no big deal with that, just not our preference. The spicy edamame sucked unfortunately. It's not made like a traditional spicy edamame, it's basically just unseasoned edamame with a ton of hot sauce dumped on it. I like spicy but this was just gross. Why 3 star... the restaurant was visibly dirty and has not been kept up with. Table tents were gross, the blinds had food caked up on them etc. and it was FREEZING! Omg guys this place is so amazing! The service was FAST AND FRIENDLY. Within 6 minutes of ordering we had all of our rolls! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive too! Didn't have to flag her down or get her attention. The sushi was so good and fresh. The AYCE sushi and sake was a great combo. Music was playing but not too loud that you couldn't hear yourself. The overall feel of the place made you feel like you can have either an intimate setting or family dinner. This restaurant needs more hype bc the food and service are top notch! read more

I think this place is about to close. The sushi bar is gone, the restaurant looks bare. There is only 1 waitresses and 1 person clearing tables and helping bring out food while she is handling takeout orders and hosting. In the 20 minutes I waited for her to give me my take out order I watched people wait in the middle of the floor since there is no waiting area and they were clearly beyond their service capacity with about 6 empty tables that could not be added to hers and the kitchen's load. When we got home, the sushi was bland - absolutely flavorless!!! The udon broth was just warm and had 1 piece of green onion floating in it... oh and the noodles were cold. My to go order was a HUGE disappointment, the rice was cold, reminded me of supermarket sushi. The sauces were very stingy, very minimal. The Orion roll had fish slices on top, they were THICK AND DRY, wouldn't even hold itself against the roll, just curled upward. The Haru roll would have been good but the seaweed wouldn't bite through, I had to remove it back out of my mouth. Ruined my appetite fast. Won't be back because I can't trust the chefs or anyone else wouldn't allow it to go out the door that way, that Orion roll was way too obvious. UPDATE: I decided to give this place another try since they are the only place that does half rolls a la carte. This time the rolls were perfection HOWEVER, I'm STILL disappointed in their customer service or LACK THERE OF....I politely advised the front lady of the disastrous last order and she didn't even apologize or offer a small discount....NOTHING!! There is now very limited seating, the sushi chefs are no longer in view, everything comes out of the kitchen. Stay away...stay far, far, away!! Used to dine at Tachi frequently before the "remodel"! The place had a change in management and the dining experience was in a word, HORRIBLE! The servers were obviously inexperienced as were the people preparing the sushi. Rookies ALL! The tea and the miso was lukewarm and the quality of the sushi was mediocre at best. The presentation was not good at all. That and half the tables were empty. I seriously doubt that they will be in business in another 90 days or so. We shall see! read more
