A small fantastic place for authentic Mexican food The chef and staff alway so kind and accommodating. My kids who are very picky eaters love this place since they know he will go above and beyond to prepare their meals just the way the like it.

A little FYI....Southern boy raised in Texas on the best Mexican food in the world!! Cute place, I love that there is not an English word anywhere but the menu. The warm salsa is delicious, roasted peppers really set off the flavor. Unlike much of the salsa in the South there wasn't much cilantro, a little disappointing but not too much. The tortilla chips were fresh and not too greasy, absolutely perfect. The large horchata, at $4 was a little pricey (only because I know what the ingredients actually are), but it was thick, fresh, and most of all delicious. Today's breakfast is juevos con chorizo with rice and beans. We'll start with the mediocre; the Spanish rice is the same from a bag fare you can find in any craptastic Mexican joint, the refrejoles tasted homemade and were very heavy on lard and lacking much flavor, a little cumin goes a long way, any cumin even further. Now to the main course of eggs and chorizo, absolutely wonderful. The eggs are flat (no water or milk) and cooked hard scrambled. The chorizo is excellent and evenly blended throughout. All in all I will stick by my 5 Star review as I am most pleased to find very good quality Mexican food this far north!

As much as it was packed from 2:30 til 3:30 we were still were able to order a drink at bar. Martin was so nice and took our order and brought it to us being we went back to waiting line. The place is small with a hard time to walk around when it's full. It's a nice bar restaurant and didn't realized until we were leaving that there's a back area. The bartenders could be a little more social and happy bc that seem a bit dull and unhappy working there. Unlike Martin he was happy. Mildred was our server and she did phenomenal. We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.

I ordered the birria chilaquiles which were just ok, the meat was a bit on the bland side, which is the opposite of what a good birria should be. When I asked our waitress if I could have cheese on mine (as it doesn't come with cheese or eggs for that matter) she said that they couldn't make that adjustment because they were too busy & the kitchen didn't like to have any changes to a plate (REALLY???? they know 365 beforehand that Mother's Day will be busy, so they should be prepared for the high volume of customers) I didn't insist and added eggs to my order (be prepared to pay $4.00 extra for two eggs). What I found funny was my beans came with cheese...really, they couldn't have just tossed some over my chilaquiles!‍. My sister liked her poblano chilaquiles, which were good and mom had mole enchiladas, which she enjoyed. But the overall star of the meal were the strawberry pancakes we got for dessert! They were absolutely delicious! They came with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and a side of strawberry sauce (more of a coulis sauce) that tasted homemade. We didn't even ask for syrup, that's how good they were (reminded us of true Mexican pancakes...IYKYK). In spite of the businesses of the day, our waitress was attentive and nice. I'll go back, but will try something else and definitely get the pancakes for dessert! Another note to be aware of, they don't have a waiting area, so if someone in your party can't stand for long periods, like my mom, take that into consideration before going on a busy day (like Mother's Day). When we did ask, the guy taking down the reservations said "you can wait in the car" with a bit of nastiness and smirk...unnecessary attitude. He might have not meant it that way since they do text when your reservation is ready, but he needs to work on sounding like an a-hole and could have said "I'm soo sorry we do not, but please feel free to wait in your car since we will text when your reservation is ready" in a compassionate tone, or something to that extent. La Catedral management, please work on that!

This place is worth the hype, great southwest menu, reminded me of Austin, with subtle hints to El Paso, and Santa Fe. Great influences! I started with a sparkling water, a cold brew, and we shared Al pastor fries. The fries were flavored with Al Pastor, a served with a mayo (maybe chipotle). They were very tasty. I got the traditional breakfast with potatoes, over easy eggs, and both refried beans and avocado. It was great, the eggs were well cooked and my yolks broke open exposing their delicious yellow juice perfectly. The potatoes were crispy and the refried beans (black beans) were perfect, salty, and smooth. They also have two hot sauces one is pineapple and they have a chili oil at the table. I was looking for more heat / a more intense hot sauce but they were tasty. My partner got the fried chicken covered in gravy. It came with some spring veggies, peas, and onion. Everything was good, portions were big, and the food was fresh. Definitely recommend coming here and even if you have to wait, it's worth it!

The ambiance was dark and festive, and I was surprised they played a lot of pop music. It seemed to take longer than expected to have a waitress take our order. We glanced at the Valentines menu and quickly realized that was the best deal. We eventually ordered our meal all at once. Including some mocktails that we were excited to try. The chops and salsa came out along with the guacamole first. We seemed to wait a bit before my appetizer of choice, the elote came out. Once it did, I was pleased with it. The steak and potato as the second course was ok. The meat was seasoned well. It was just the smallest of steak portions, plenty potatoes covered with lettuce. I enjoyed my steak tacos along with the churros. Overall I thought the meal was great. I could tell the vibes from the kitchen to the bar to the waitstaff was busy. Which left some tables open for dining. If we would have realized this before getting seated, I probably would've left. I wish the restaurant would have closed for the events or made us aware. It was very loud! We could not talk or hear each other at all. The food is good! We love the pineapple pork tacos & the bang bang shrimp tacos. I do wish the shrimp tacos had more of a slaw or something on them. The guacamole is really good & the chips are the perfect thickness & saltiness. I've had the elotes dip twice. Both times, not a lot of flavor. No drinks because we wanted to get out asap so we could enjoy our company & conversation. The bathroom situation is fantastic. Several private bathrooms down the hallway. Clean & spacious. Service was just ok, mostly because it was so loud & busy that our server couldn't communicate with us. Next time, I'll make sure it's not booked with a party.

It does have some tables by the windows that we were lucky to get. We went on a Saturday afternoon so it was pretty full in there. They do offer carry out if you don't want to dine in. They serve a modern twist on Mexican food. We ordered the enchiladas verde, Buffalo chicken club sandwich, chicken quesadillas & an aqua Fresca (cucumber & lime). We started with the chicken quesadillas they were very flavorful!!! A nice size quesadilla a modest amount of chicken. 7.9/10 My wife had the chicken enchiladas verdes which I tried and they also were very flavorful! They had a nice spice level to them. It came with rice. Not the traditional red rice but the rice was also very flavorful! 8.5/10 I had the buffalo chicken club. This was also a very flavorful sandwich. You could taste the buffalo sauce on the chicken and it wasn't overbearing or spicy. It had avocado on it that added that creaminess that Mayo would add. The only drawback for me was it didn't have any bacon on it. But I'm sure you can add bacon. They give you a choice of sides I got the fries. They were nice thin & crispy with the right amount of salt on them. I'll give the sandwich a 8.5 as well. And I got a cucumber & lime aqua Fresca that was so refreshing. The drink was made to order it tasted soooo fresh! The cucumber tasted like it was just picked from the garden. 9.5/10 Our server name was Y'vette she was so sweet and nice. She made sure we had everything we needed. Our service was a solid 10/10!! I'm definitely returning to try some of the other dishes & some other aqua Fresca's and the service!
