I got the steak burrito and an horchata. No nonsense, great food. There was a line when we arrived but it went pretty fast. The food also came out pretty fast. The interior was really beautiful, artistic, and rich in culture. Restrooms also available.

Its been years since I've eaten at Milagros Been to the 26th one Soooo goood And this location in Pilsen is the same quality it's just really packed. The cooks are so nice The place is traditional as if you're in Mexico The tacos de asada is delicious with the coleslaw All the tacos are. The Jamaica drink is perfect The ambience is chill and the back of the area is chilly so that's why not many sit there The entrance area is more comfortable Def coming back

Love this place! I tried the chicken mole tamal special one sunday and thought it was great. Would definitely come back.

Indeed good things are hidden gems! My dear friend introduced me to this place a few days ago and I live some minutes away and couldn't fathom how I missed it. This place is VERY AFFORDABLE! Yet their food is extremely tasty, it was so good, I returned the next day with my husband who also confirmed it. If you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, with low cost and plentyyyy of options, this is the place for you. Their service is also SUPER FAST. I'm talking less than 5mins wait time maybe because it's a buffet. Also, even though you pay at the counter, they bring you your food! That's so thoughtful and I really liked that cause it also helps with crowd control. It also gives really authentic Mexican vibes in there as it has memorabilia's of the country. Love it and I'm so glad I live close. Try the steak plate, you are welcome.

If you want a true taste of Pilsen, El Milagro is one of the Taquerias you have to add to your list! Their Taco de Chile Relleno is my absolute favorite and my partner thought their Carne Asada was the best she's had in Pilsen. The neighborhood has changed a lot (for good and bad), but El Milagro is still standing and serving authentic food!

Hello yelpers it's the fat boy once again. Today was Mexican food day. The Mrs. & I visited El Milagro. I liked the nice decor of the place, very clean and the service was good. It was a decent crowd in but the line moved fast. We got our order to go. We ordered the Molé, a steak Taco, chili rellenos and a Taco guisado de Res. First off these tacos are a bit different with the cabbage slaw the put on them (which I liked). The steak taco was delicious. It also has rice and beans on it. Nice and grilled, tender & seasoned. 7/10 The chicken Molè is a dish my wife had i didn't taste it. She gave it a 7/10 The chili Rellenos were also delicious! The nice balanced tomato sauce went well with the dish. Solid 8/10 The taco guisado de res wasn't that good at all. The it was lacking in flavor and the beef was very tough & dry. 1/10 All in all I enjoyed the steak taco & Chili Rellenos enough to return. All in all I'm give El Milagro a 7.5/10 Remember yelpers: ALL REVIEWS ARE SUBJECTIVE!

I've had their tamales brought by a friend and those are really good. At this dine-in visit, I got the Bistek Asado Plate. Good portions of almost everything except beans. Cabbage salad was fresh and mild which I like. The steak was terribly overcooked, dry, and a pain to chew. It's only hardly tolerable when masked in a taco with other ingredients. No issues with service. Decent amount of seating inside.

El Milagro Taqueria is a gem in Pilsen! Anyone who is in the mood for delicious, fresh Mexican food must stop here. Their tacos are delicious, the meat is tender and perfectly seasoned. You order at the counter, and the staff will bring you your food, which makes for quick and easy service. Would highly recommend!

If I could describe this place in one sentence it would be: Top 3 favorite taco in all of Chicago. Not only the taco but the entire experience. I felt at home as soon as I walked through the doors and you could smell the most beautiful aroma of the best Mexican dishes. I went here a week ago and I have already told 4 people how wonderful of an experience I had. I'm bringing my family here very soon. The prices were great and the food was delicious, you don't find that too often anywhere in Chicago anymore. We order the Platillo de Bistek y Platillo de Mole Pollo. If you have never been to El Milagro, I highly recommend it. You're missing out big time. Personal Review: 9.2/10

Love the authentic feel and decor inside the restaurant. They had so many options, I didn't know where to start. I was a little skeptical, but after ordering and in hindsight, I wish I had tasted more. I've never had rice and beans INSIDE my taco like that before, but when I tell you it was delicious and filling! I'd love to try more items next time.

Steak Taco with everything.... The cabbage on top is SOOOOO good!

I LOVE this place! The food is served cafeteria style, so you get to take a look at some of the stuff before you order. My go-to is the asada plate or the asada taco. The taco is humongous, with a BIG piece of steak. You heard right, big chunks of asada like it came off of your backyard grill! I'm not a big fan of rice in my tacos, but here it hits especially when paired with the cabbage that comes on top. My biggest tip is to either eat it there, or eat it quickly if you do get the tacos. They are stuffed, which means those two fresh Milagro tortillas all the ingredients are cradled in can get soggy if you wait too long. The tamales here were okay to me, but every time I'm in the area I make it a point to stop in for a quick lunch taco. I've never had problems finding a seat, and the employees are nice, and the food comes out fast. I've only parked in the area twice, and the rest of the times I've walked over. Parking on the street is available, but you have to pay. The interior of the restaurant is nice, and clean. They take cash and card.

I've been eating El Milagro tortas for years, so when I found out they had a taqueria in Chicago, I had to stop by. The restaurant was clean, and the colors and design really highlighted Mexican culture. I ordered a chicken taco and a steak taco--both were amazing. Ordering was quick and easy. Definitely worth the visit.

    Taco puerco en salsa verde
    Drew F.

I've been eating el Milagro tortillas as long as I can remember. Glad to finally get here with some friends. Ordered steak burrito and taco puerco en salsa verde. Steak burrito was fresh and tasted good but had too much gristle in the steak. This can be pawned off elsewhere if meat chopped finely but the steak was in larger slices, multiple pieces w gristle. I was disappointed. Taco was super amazing, large amount of pork & green sauce. Large serving of finely chopped slaw. Very delicious. Took half burrito home, finished taco. The salsas were amazing! I loved the salsas. I would buy some to take home next time. Horchata was A+. Pretty quick service, calm ambiance on a Saturday afternoon.

They normally do, but lately there's been a lot of "cash only" on account of problems with their processors. They have an ATM inside.

Would anyone know what kind of cooking oil they use? I can't eat soybean oil, which is usually found in vegetable oil. Figured could see if someone else has asked before. Thanks!

Some of their food option don't use oil at all because the meats release their natural oils and juices. You may have to ask which ones don't have the cooking oil.

We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.

I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW.
