I have not had an experience like this at any type of dentist since I was in the military. Vanessa and Dr. Molina were an incredible team, kind, gentle and professional. I was recommended to two other endo offices and did not feel aligned to those, so I found this office and it was a god send! This office does not shame their patients nor show that they are all about greed and money like many other offices. I have heard many previous dentists shame other patients loudly and on purpose, it was so unprofessional and an odd tactic to make more money. I felt comfortable and like I was in a space that truly cared for their patients and the atmosphere was pleasant. Everything that was shared with me was done so in a normal tone and I don't hear other patient's business either, which was great because it really isn't anyone's business what the patients are there for. It's their personal info. I truly wish this was a general dentist office too, because I do not want to go anywhere else now! Vanessa was realistic and empathetic towards some nerves I had about pain. She was honest and her description of the procedure at my expectations perfectly! She is personable and great at what she does. Both of these ladies were very skilled & I couldn't believe how painless it was. You hear those nightmare stories about dental visits, but not here. Skilled and gentle! The only slight pain I felt was just from the numbing, that is it and that was a 3/10 for a few seconds. Everything else was smooth! The office is clean, beautiful and tasteful. I truly did not feel like I was I was in Downey. It was classy, clean and beautiful inside. It was actually clean, unlike some places that buy nice decor to dress up the space but it is actually not clean and dusty. Even their chandelier was clean, that's how you can tell. I enjoyed the lobby/waiting area and how they play enjoyable music. I felt blessed to be able to have these two ladies as my providers today. I was referred here because my gums were infected and inflamed and I had pain after having a crown placed on. I was told by this office I needed a root canal for a tooth that did not have pain or sensitivity while the crown was not in place and was broken. I proceeded with their recommendations for I came in for inflamed gum and pressure point back tooth after new crown. Thinking they knew what they were doing and entrusting the doctor knew what they were doing. I was told after a 15 min supposed root canal that to take antibiotics and the inflammation would go away. Weeks after the supposed root canal my gums are still inflamed and infected and I am diabetic and I went in to be checked again only to be told I needed the back molar removed. If I came in because of inflammation to the gum and infection and you recommend a root canal and that was not the real issue why would we do a root canal if that was not the problem? They claim I told them I had pain in that tooth. If the tooth was broken and had missing crown and there was no sensitivity prior to a new crown, how now did we need a root canal and the problem still exists? I would have never agreed to a root canal if that was not going to resolve the infection and they gave me antibiotics to resolve the infection that still has not went away and pain still exists, but yet I had a root canal???? I filed a complaint with my dental insurance and when my spouse was in the waiting room they overheard another patient calling in complaining that they did work on the wrong tooth! Stay away, they only want your money but I also filed a dispute with my credit card company and my dental insurance will not pay the claim until it is investigated so I can see another endodontist. Please do not go here, they will do work that will not solve your problem only to get your insurance money and your copay!!! trust me they are not good dentistry!!! I should've checked here first but since I was referred here I trusted them and I am still in pain and still have gums infected only to go in today for them to tell me its my fault I agreed to the root canal and I told them I had pain in a tooth that did not have pain when they checked before placing a permanent crown on that same tooth!! read more

She and her staff efficiently performed a root canal while I watched cooking shows. Dr Molina is personable, professional and an expert in Endodontics. My dentist referred me to this specialist for my root canal. My initial consultation appointment went smoothly, they took X-Rays and Dr. Molina consulted me. After our discussion, I agreed to proceed with her plan of treatment. My follow-up appointments was disappointed/disaster, I was suppose to come in to get my root canal done following week and on the day of my appointment they cancelled my appointment due Dr. Molina having a meeting. RUDE STAFF & decided to go elsewhere after consultation!!! I was referred for a root canal & had a 2:00pm appointment. I arrived about 20 or so minutes early. Mayra was rude from the start. She rudely asked me if I had an appointment which I replied yes. Then she said, "oh, well, I called you a couple times to confirm your appointment and we never heard from you. The doctor was running behind so she went to lunch. She'll be back at 2:30." Which I asked, "what's the point of having an appointment?" She basically blamed me for not confirming BUT I HAD AN APPOINTMENT! Isn't that already a confirmation? Then I tried to get it together and not react to her rudeness and said, "Ok thank you. I'll be back." So already we had a not so wonderful intro. Now it's about 1:45-50. I decide to walk around. Mayra calls at 2:04 to say that the doctor is in. Which is great because I'm right down the street & I'm back in less than 5 minutes. It wasn't until 2:20 that they take me in the back for x-rays. The dental assistant looks like the receptionist has complained about me & barely greets me & is rude herself. So, I'm really trying to mend this atmosphere because I work in customer service so I try to compliment the pretty office & the assistant wasn't really trying to make small talk. So, slience it is. I focus on the TV which is on CNN. They don't care what you want to watch by the way. Before they take x-rays, she starts asking me which tooth they're going to be working on? I'm thinking what!?! Don't you have my info? The she asked, "Is it 19? We don't know because we don't have your referral form." Apparently I was given a referral form that I was supposed to bring (all I got an appointment card). ANNNNNYYYWAY, It was tooth 19! Did she magically guess? Because she hadn't checked inside my mouth yet. She just wanted to be petty. She tries to take an x-ray. The machine is malfunctioning. Finally it's done and they have the picture. She asks if I know that the nerve is exposed? Yes! I know. That's why I'm here. I just said yes. She pokes at my gums roughly and has me bite down. Then, she does a "cold test." She gets something cold (like dips it in nitrogen) and tries the tooth next to the infected one: no pain. But she's holding it there almost trying to see what happens. THEN! I swear!!!!! She uses more pressure and goes right to my affected tooth (btw my nerve is exposed). It HURTS SOOOO MUCH that I immediately started crying and turned away. On a scale of 10 it was an easy 25!! I've never cried at the dentist!!! NEVER!! Never ever!! Not even as a kid!!! She says, "oops, sorry I have to do this." And continues to the other neighbor tooth. She doesn't even give me a minute to breathe. I'm crying!! Give me a second please. She keeps trying to work & I ask her if I can get a minute to collect myself. She takes her hands off me but just stares. like please pretend you have something to do so I can stop crying. Not even 15 seconds goes by before she comes behind me and asked me to open and close my mouth with her hands on my cheeks. Oh and I'm still upset/trying to compose myself. Molina the doctor comes in and suggests I go under sedation. She offers me water or juice which I truly appreciated!!! Minus the fact that it was expired AF and tastes rotten (see picture)!!!!!! PARENTS: CHECK THE DATE!!! It expired may 2017. It's now November 2017. The assistant also gave me water. I'll say that 1 star is for the gesture. At this point, IM DONE!! I refuse to get my work done here. I let them know that I don't have a ride to go under sedation so let's reschedule knowing that I will cancel this appt. I go back to the front, and they still want me to sign the paperwork to get the money!! I let them know that I want to go elsewhere. I'm still slightly crying and upset due to the horrible bed side manners. But, I'm just trying to leave and Mayra is trying to ask why? Like homie!!! I'm crying and you knooooooow the service sucks. I really think she wanted me to say it. I just politely said with tears in my eyes that this is not a good fit. May I go? GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!! I thought a referral was a good thing but I will check reviews now!!! Looking at old reviews that mention that they are all about the money, maybe that's why the dental assistant made that cold test so incredibly painful so that the doctor can suggest sedation to make more money. Dr. Sonia Molina and her staff were incredible. The front office staff is friendly and very helpful. They were very nice over the phone when booking my appointment as well. They were able to get me in the very next morning because of the urgent nature of my visit. They were actually able to fit me in the same day to do my procedures. Dr Sonia Molina explained my options and her recommendations very clearly. She also spoke with my existing dentist to review her recommendations. Christina assisted her for my procedures. Dr. Molina has excellent bedside manner and she is very caring. They made sure to schedule my next appointment to get my stitches out before I left. They also gave me verbal instructions for my after care and sent me home with a print out detailing my after care . I would recommend Dr. Molina and her staff to anyone that needs endodontic work. I went in for a root canal yesterday and I haven't experienced any pain or discomfort at all. I am a huge crybaby when it comes to pain so I pushed off having one done since the longest. I was referred here by my dentist so I decided to give this place a try. I went in for an original consultation since my dentist thought I needed two root canals done. Thankfully, the staff and Dr. Molina decided that it was only one. On my day of the procedure they made sure that I felt good and that I didn't feel any pain before going further and I really liked that as I've had very painful experiences at dentists. Overall, the root canal took around 50 minutes and I felt no pain at all. I went home with some ibuprofen 600MG but I have not felt the need for it anyways. It is really weird to think that I do not have any pain given the information and videos I've watched but I am really happy that I chose to have my root canal done here! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, believe me I would. Went to this place at the beginning of September, at first it was good, staff was nice, etc. go through questions on why I'm here and what not. I was there for a root canal. Anyways, the dentist sees me tells me their going to pull the root that was extremely infected due to my primary dentist doing a crown on my tooth, so I'm in less pain then to take the ibuprofen they give me and come back in like 5 months. First of all I extremely HATE the dentist especially if it's a new place, due to some bad experiences. Anyways, they numb my mouth, I can still feel everything, so they numb it again and again and again, at this point the needle is starting to hurt me, I ask if I can bring in my fiancé cause he comforts me when I'm in pain, so they let him in, at this point I'm about 6 shots in to numb my mouth. At that point the dentist is frustrated and gives up and says "well imma do this cause it's taking forever" during this process I'm in pain crying and trying not to fall asleep, the dentist notices and says "she's closing her mouth and it needs to stay open if not she'll brake our stuff" and then proceeds to stick like a block in my mouth to keep it open. What ever the finish what their doing and I get to go home. About TWO DAYS LATER I'm in the hospital because the infection spread and my face got swollen, and on top of that I did not get to be discharged in enough time to see my brother one last time before he was shipped off to boot camp. I was depressed because of that, I've stayed in the hospital for about 2 weeks with doctors trying to see if I'll have to under go surgery so the can stop the infection before it spreads through my entire body. A week into the hospital I get a phone call, long behold it's from this place asking how I am, I told them in the hospital because of the infection, and the next thing that came out of their mouth was, "oh, um you can come back and the dentist can see you", I looked at my fiancé in disbelief they told me to go back knowing I'm in the hospital because of their error and I turn around and tell them "no I'm fine, after what happened I won't be returning to your facility any time soon" and hung up. THANKFULLY, the staff at the HOSPITAL, were friendly and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and were able to bring down the swelling and infection and I was able to return home. With out the hospital I'm not sure what would of happened. I called and canceled my appointment I had with THIS place because of that, and what they did, they put myself and my health in a very dangerous position. I really hope this place gets sued and shut down for the lack of concern this place has for the people that come in trusting them. read more

First things first, Dr Molina is an exceptional endodontist. Impressive background/credentials. Nice lady who always has a smile on her face. I actually went over a few specialists prior to making my choice with Dr. Molina. I guess she made a good enough impression on me despite our uber brief, 2 minute consultation. My ony gripe with this facility is their lack of patient education. Unless you ask a ton of questions, you will be left out in the dark. The staff also seem like they just try to get you in and out in a flash without much regard for pt satisfaction. Further, the receptionists seem pretty defensive when you have an honest question or simply dont understand some sort-of-process. All in all, people come to Molina Endodontics for the services of Dr. Molina herself.
