Guys the foods good, but they clearly don't care about the employees. Restaurants nice, but I'm here during happy hour and it's empty. Employees sitting in the booths waiting to serve people. If you pay minimum wage, expect minimum output from your employees. Bartender was great but I can tell he wants some money. That's why it costs to get extra salsa!!! Cmon, it's a Mexican restaurant, who has to pay for extra salsa???? Pay them better!! Ambiance was nice of course, Spanish music and quiet atmosphere. Last night before the gym later I ordered my go-to here being the Enchiladas Tejas with rice n refried beans. Sometimes I get it with ground beef in the filling and sometimes shredded chicken. This time I got it with shredded chicken. Very delicious, comforting, saucy, rich and starchy with enough protein obviously too. The chili sauce is beefy, bold and savory with ideal thickness, not watery thankfully. The bit of yellow cheese was good stuff. The wraps were tender and the chicken filling was seasoned and juicy as well as abundant. The rice was fluffy and mild pairing well with the rest. The refried beans were earthy, tasty and a bit chunky, not so smooth like the ones straight from a can. They have ideal thickness to them too. A great location. This is a go-to spot for taking family and friends for a nice dinner out! This restaurant is spacious and well-equipped for large dining parties. I enjoyed the private table we were given and the service is always great. The interior is well-decorated and with a bit of a darker lighting, which adds to the comfy mood. There are so many wonderful items to choose from, all flavorful and delicious! For seafood lovers, the Raulitos's shrimp special or the shrimp diablo are excellent options. MOLINA'S GRILLED QUAIL & SHRIMP COMBO, was a pleasant surprise. The quail meat was very tasty with a unique texture and flavor profile. I also love the enchiladas! I'm sure that the in restaurant experience is better than my takeaway experience. Overall the food is good as you would expect from a Houston classic. I ordered the enchiladas de Tejas. Although this is supposed to come with onions, mine didn't and there was no place to choose or write in this using the website. The chile con carne is good and pairs well with the cheese enchiladas. The chips although good needed salt as well as the guacamole. The sauce with the flan is one of the best I've ever had. I will be back but next time I'll dine in. read more

Went to Molina's Cantina for my friend's birthday lunch after class. I went to their second location in West U. They give complimentary chips and dip, including 3 different kinds of salsa and pickled carrots. My end of the table went through like 5 rounds of chips I got a grilled fish taco which included lettuce and grilled corn pico de gallo. I really liked the corn and the sauce it came with. The taco was also really big. It came in aluminum foil to keep it warm. The fish was grilled really well, but I felt like it was bland and lacking in flavor. This is quickly becoming my favorite Molina's location. I previously frequented the Westheimer location which is still a great spot. I had the El Compadre Margarita, it was mixed to perfection. The food is fresh and extremely tasty. Always an enjoyable experience all the way around. I would like to see them expand the happy hour menu into the main dining room but I don't mind going to the bar Monday-Fri from 3-6. At that time you can find discounts on house margaritas. The queso is included within those hours as well. I recommend the queso or Jose's dip. The CW special is a staple for the restaurant. The enchiladas are always spot on as well. It's hard to go wrong, my only critique is the tamales. They don't offer enough protein and the corn layer is far too thick. Finally, the dine in experience has a really unique ambiance. Okay actually loved this place! It's a no frills Mexican place, but the food is fresh and good, loved the salsa, good happy hour prices, and there was no wait! We had a great time here with some friends. I got 'Nancy's nachos' and they were really unique with the salsa, guac, and meat on each Individual chip, almost like mini tostadas. Really good! It was my first time coming here and my cousin recommended the crispy tacos. The shell was very crispy and thick so it wouldn't break when eating, so that impressed me. The meat and veggies inside the taco were just ok (ground beef and an insane amount of shredded lettuce). The booth still had chip crumbs in it that I brushed aside. The chips were hard and not salty enough but the three salsa sections were good. The parking lot here is big but very cramped and busy. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with not only a friendly staff and a great atmosphere but an aroma that will make you twice as hungry as you thought you were. I have been eating with this family restaurant for at least 55 years, it is the first restaurant I ever remember going to for the exception of their beans because I don't eat them, so I just don't know and can't judge them, everything else I've ever had was amazing but my go to is the William special which is a piece of Carne Asada on top of cheese enchiladas and of course Jose's dip which is their chili con queso with meat is always exceptional. I love coming here because I'm never disappointed, and even if there's a hiccup, it's always taken care of quickly. I would only go here for tacos. Or have them to go. Staff is friendly and the place is very neat. However, Pretty much everything we have had there besides tacos is substandard. Nice place to meet friends for an early Saturday night Tex-Mex dinner. Easy to get a booth without a reservation at 6 PM. The tortilla soup was full of chicken in a warm broth with tortilla chips. Add rice, pico and fresh avocado on the side. The chips are crisp and light. Both the green and red salsas were good. The chicken enchiladas covered with a spicy salsa verde sauce and a side of black beans were okay. The chicken fajitas were a hit. No room for dessert, but nice to end the meal with a pralines. It was disgusting tonight. Ordered the beef/chicken fajitas for one ... requested the onions to be well done and the beef to be medium. beef came out burned and onions barely cooked. Obviously, the server wasn't listening and screwed everything up . Then the bill came and there was a 3% upcharge for using a credit card. total b-s..nothing in the restaurant stating this ... I came here for a work lunch with some colleagues and it was actually pretty busy, not incredibly to where we had to wait to be seated. I would recommend for people to have lunch here. We ordered off of the lunch menu and I have to say if these fish tacos were from the lunch menu I can't imagine the portions for dinner! These tacos were MASSIVE. The taste of the tacos were GOOOOOOOOD! What I wasn't to crazy about was the rice and beans. Something else I found a bit strange was that at the beginning when we get the chips and salsa it comes with like 4-5 different salsas. It was a bit overwhelming and kind of strange. I just discovered this place and already had to go back for another visit. They have some of the best tex-mex food I've had so far. To start, they serve you with 3 salsas and pickled carrots. The green salsa is definitely the best, but they're all good. I'm not really a cheese enchilada person because usually they're so greasy from other places, but the ones I got from here didn't seem greasy at all. The meat sauce on top of them was really good. Definitely a new fave food for me. The chicken flautas were good too. Their prices are pretty affordable and the servers here are on their a game. Salsa assortment was great, unfortunately the queso was a bit "thick" and tasted like it may have too much starch or flour... the beef taco was flavorless and delivered plain. Literally a taco shell with beef, no Lettuce or tomato, the cheese enchilada, though a much touted popular dish, was drowned with a sauce of chili powder and cumin. Service itself was great. So, I've been told that Molinas has been making the same sauce since the 1940s. They still sell the original sauce at the restaurant. I enjoy this restraunt because they keep the recipes authentic and traditional. The prices are great for what you're getting and the food doesn't disappoint. I always get the chicken Mole enchiladas. They're just that good, so I never wanted to try anything else when I visited Molinas. They give you chips, three different salsas, and some vegetables while you wait on the food. For dessert, they give out some little candies too. It's a nice addition to the meal. I tried the soppaipillas, and they weren't my favorite. They were too small. The restaurant is really nice and the service was decent. If you want some great Mole enchiladas, I would recommend visiting Molinas and trying them out. read more

Despite the size, it fills up with patrons and what look like the regulars based on the overheard conversations. Had some appetizers and drinks so I have no idea about the main food. I've been coming to Molina's for over 40 years. I've been to this location several times and it's always a must stop when I'm in town. The best part of coming here... consistency. A girlfriend of mine stopped in for a margarita. We ordered some guacamole and Jose dip. The guac was fresh and the Jose dip, the same great taste it's been since I was a kid. Along with the salsas and the some of the best pickled veggies, I could have made a meal... but we had a dinner party to go to later. We live next to this restaurant but finally tried it today. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and large the restaurant was. The ambience and cleanliness is 5 stars, however the cost of beef tacos was a little to pricy. My son ordered the fajita beef tacos which was $20 for 2 tacos. He enjoyed them but was more then I would like to pay for a child's lunch. I ordered the Mexico City combo to try several items. This meal was huge! Came on 3 dishes! Will defiantly come back again but will look at prices more for my kids meal to make sure he's not ordering $10/taco. Overall great place if your craving texmex in the area. read more
