I do suggest looking at the menu ahead of time and having a pretty good idea of what you would like to order once you're inside. I've only had tacos here but every variation that I've had was delicious. They have other items such daily specials for lunch but I'm not very knowledgeable there. A coworker of mine put me onto this establishment, and I'm definitely glad he did. Being nice, I went and grabbed some tacos for my colleagues, and I was told every single order was a hit for them. I went with the chorizo & egg. My home girl went with bean, bacon & potato (2x). Two nurses went with the chicken fajita, beef fajita, and a bacon, potato, cheese & egg tacos. All were fresh, flavorful, and packed just right. Not mentioned made right in front of you. The food quality was great, the service was family oriented friendly and efficient, and the ambience is laid back and welcoming, exactly what you want from a neighborhood taco spot that knows what it's doing. The servers definitely go over and beyond with a smile. Absolutely try to get here early because the lines can get long, but today the wait wasn't as bad as I thought it was gone be. At 6:15 in the morning in a random Thursday there's a VILLAGE people line out the door. Cop. Construction worker. Biker. Just missing the Native. Assembly line taco formation makes it go super fast. At this point, Brothers is more synonymous with breakfast tacos than any other establishment in Houston. While there are other places that offer and even specialize in them, few have more years than this family-run EaDo institution, which is closing in on a quarter of a century. The lines from both tourists and locals happen on the daily, from the morning to lunch. It's hard to predict on when to come since the peak times fluctuate between 8-10AM and Noon. Thankfully the wait isn't too long and it moves quicker than it looks. It's really only an issue if one is pressed for time (#1) or if the weather is less than ideal. The other hold up which is people who don't know their way around and hold up the line while they make a decision. The tacos are all across the board in textures, flavors, and look. Personally, their scrambled egg with sausage and peppers is deceivingly good. The spicy potato seems super plain but is packed with a nice zing of flavor. I highly recommend salsa of any kind to add to the taco. It's not all tacos here: tortas, quesadillas, fajitas, and daily lunch specials are still very much a part of their food rotation. It would be remiss of me to not mention their amazing Too Good To Go offer, which is currently stands at $3.99 for 5 (random) tacos in a surprise bag. It's been one of my favorite ways to keep things affordable while enjoying a nice selection of their pre-made tacos. There is seating in here, but it's limited and located in the back. During the different parts of the afternoons, sometimes they'll give a little break (and even a little food) to the less fortunate roaming the streets of EaDo. I think the people who run the place are excellent folks. Be strategic about the parking situation, since their front lot only offers so many spaces. Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am, and there was a line out the door. This building itself isn't huge though, and the ordering system is much like a build-your-own spot so the line does move quickly! We waited about 10 minutes. The parking lot is very small with street parking being the only other option, but that's fine since it giving more of a "grab and go" place anyways. There are a few bench tables and barstools inside though for those who want to dine in. The food itself (which in this case was classic breakfast tacos) were just good, nothing mind-blowing. I do appreciate how you can add all of your fixings at the end instead of having to go back and ask. Would I come here again? Only a few normal parking spots then the rest is street parking. But it's worth the trouble! Service is quick. It's counter service and the line usually goes out the door, but it moves quickly. Ambiance is nothing special, but you don't need that when the tacos are tasty and affordable. They have a ton of different filling options. I usually stick to al pastor, barbacoa, and beef fajita, but they have so many options to choose from. The chipotle chicken was surprisingly really good, and you can never go wrong with a breakfast taco option. This place always has a line wrapped around the building. Finally stopped in to see what the fuss is all about. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and helpful to a first timer. Ordered 2 tacos: chicken tinga and spicy pork. They have 3 types of sauces mild (light green), medium (darker green) and hot (red). The red one is the hottest. They also give you cilantro and onions to go on the tacos. Super cute place with wood paneling and there is some hidden parking behind the building. Now for the food review... beyond amazing! My favorite sauce was the medium darker green one. Just the right amount of kick for the tomatillo. Brothers Taco House has been on my breakfast radar for a minute. The location, parking and long lines have kept me from checking it out sooner. Recently, my coworkers and I decided we needed some breakfast tacos in our life so I carved out time in my morning to make it happen. Since I came bright and early, there was no big line that I have always read about nor was there any issue with parking. Most of the food is prepared and the ordering process is like a cafeteria line. You either tell them or point at what you want and how you want it. Customer service was good. My order was large but I planned ahead and grouped like items together. I was in and out of there in a jiffy. The tacos prices are on par or even slightly cheaper than other breakfast taco spots ranging from $2.25 to $3.50 depending on that you get. They do charge a quarter extra for cheese. When we dug into the food at work, I noticed some were not labeled like others so we had to do some investigating to get our orders right. Maybe sticker labels would be ideal for large to go orders. Just a thought. For my order I got a chorizo & egg, bacon & egg, and a sausage & egg. I added cheese to them all. To me, they all tasted very similar. Of course they had slightly different flavors, but not much. If I had to choose, I would pick the bacon one as the front runner. My coworkers and I try different breakfast tacos pretty regularly and to me, this place was just ok. Not bad by any mean, it just didn't live up to the hype. This is def one of those restaurants where you need to know what you want before going up. Its a very popular taco spot in EaDo area and seem specifically busy during breakfast. They have a small parking lot so parking is a hit/miss but we were lucky enough to get parking. We waited in line and tried to figure out what we wanted. While traveling, I like to seek out good spots to have breakfast. One of my friends who is local to Houston had sent me some spots to check out and Brothers was on it. After a little research I saw that this was somewhat of a hot spot, so I made plans one morning to check it out. I was staying downtown and decided to walk to EaDo - it was only about a mile away so the trek wasn't too bad. The eatery is located at the corner of a busy intersection and I noticed a small line outside which I joined. I seem to have come at a good time because there were only maybe 5 or 6 people in front of me and I waited only a few minutes before being served; reviews here tell of much longer wait times. The space is set up quick service style where you walk along the ordering counter as they prepare your order. Many customers were taking their orders to go, though they have a decent sized area to sit and eat. Brothers is only open for breakfast and lunch; the menu is mostly Mexican dishes, with breakfast tacos being their most known dish. Since this was my first time that's what I decided to get - I went with three and had two filled wit egg and sausage and one filled with egg and ham; I was given a choice of tortilla type and I chose flour. In addition to the egg, the tortilla was lined with refried beans and I grabbed a few different salsas at checkout to complement. The tacos were okay - they were kinda messy/mushy and didn't have a lot of flavor. The salsas helped a lot but they were sloppy to eat and the consistency wasn't my favorite. I could tell the food was fresh but it just didn't speak to me. Service was fast, and overall I didn't love Brothers. I have no doubt this place delivers quality food, it just missed the mark with me personally so I would likely bypass the next time I'm in Houston. read more

Man, this location is worth the wait outside. Yes, you wait outside till they have a spot open to order inside. A long line will go fast! Took me about 6-8 minutes waiting outside and there were roughly 30 people infront of me. So not bad at all! The food is so tasty, portioned for a big eater, and they do NOT MISS when it comes to loading you up! They are super fast at pulling your order together, so kinda know what you want by the time you make it inside. My brother and I came here for breakfast on a Sunday (even though the hours listed in front implies they are closed on Sundayw) and it was already hopping. Parking is available in front, and the line will always stretch out the door but it moves fast (they have A/C inside so a sign asks patrons to keep the door closed, which everyone was following). Once you enter the storefront, you start the process of moving through the assembly line, making taco choices. Because they have so many different meats, already chopped and ready to be mixed to make any combo you want, they can serve simple lunch plates as well. But we were here for breakfast tacos ($2.50), and that's what my brother ordered (in addition to an order of huevos rancheros $8.50). The tacos were ready to go by the time we got to the end of the line, where he paid. There is some seating further inside the restaurant (it is very long and narrow). The huevos rancheros took a bit longer to come (since the eggs have to be poached after ordering). All in all, I thought the food was good. They give plenty of meat for the meat tacos, the potatoes were not too mushy, and the scrambled eggs mixed with the meat for the breakfast tacos were fine. The huevos rancheros was solid. Since the tacos had been wrapped to-go, we ate a sample to whet our appetites and brought the rest home. I'm sure it was a good snack for my brother after I had left. I later learned that the House was named for the original owner's two sons, and that now it is being run by the 2nd generation, keeping the same recipes and traditions alive. I've been eating at Brothers for many years, and their quality is consistently excellent. My favorite type of taco is one with refried beans and thinly sliced sausages that are sautéed with onions and peppers (either jalapeños or serranos).
