Came for the grand opening and while the line was long, I could tell that they were doing their best to get our drinks out as fast as they could! This tea is very very floral, definitely not what I'm used to, but we're still good even though it is not my most suited taste for tea. I really love the decor inside and it's cool that they give your drinks in an insulated bag!
They didn't have my Camelia Matcha anymore :( Anyway, this time I tried a lot of their new drinks: White Champaca Milk Tea, Matcha Jasmine Salted Cheese, Tongmu Lapsang Salted Cheese Milk Tea, and Premium Jasmine Mango Coconut Tea. Out of all of those drinks, only the white champaca milk tea (in the black cup) was great, everything else was okay. The white champaca milk tea was made with green tea and oat milk, and the tea flavor was strong which I really like (better than their Jasmine milk tea in my opinion). The mango coconut tea was alright, it was only good for the first few sips (I think HeyTea does fruity drinks better). The tongmu lapsang milk tea was okay, it tasted pretty bland to me. Lastly, the matcha jasmine drink was decent, better than the last two drinks. Overall, only the white champaca one was good. Not sure why Molly Tea is so hyped even though only a few drinks from them are good, most of the drinks are so bland.
Great location and great service. The drinks were strong and refreshing. I would say the Apple Jasmine Milk Tea had a refreshing yet fruity taste which is light and perfect for the summer. The jasmine flavor was still there but not overpowering and kind of had a yogurt flavor as well. The premium jasmine milk tea had a stronger jasmine flavor which was pleasant and rich. It was a little heavier than the fruity drink but overall a great milk tea. The interior was clean and pretty well spaced. Would be a great spot to stop by after a meal in chinatown.
I knew this place opened a couple months back but I had no interest in coming. I figured it was just another boba place and with it being all the way in Chinatown, the laziness in me was like "yeah, no." My friend swears by Molly Tea and it's actually his one of his favorites in Houston. So, naturally he took me. He told me it gets busy, especially since it's the weekend and whatnot. I didn't think it'd be too bad...Until I walked in and realized the venue was actually a lot bigger than what looks like from the ouside. Ordering wasn't bad, just one person ahead using the kiosk to order. But, waiting for the drinks to be done was a different story. I think it beats the record for me as I have never waited that long for boba. I didn't necessary time it per say, but I'd say it was at least a 20-30 minute wait. We ordered the Premium Jasmine Milk Tea, and my goodness-- it was life changing. Lowkey my friend was worried I wouldn't like it. So in my mind, I was freaking out as well as I don't want to disappoint them and I'm also not going to lie if I actually do not like it. But, everything worked out because I actually did like it. You can definitely smell/taste the Jasmine, without it being too overwhelming. Unlike most boba places, where everything is a default of normal ice and 100% sugar; the default for this drink was less ice and 70% sugar. It was literally perfect. Just the right amount in my opinion. It was also a nice surprise to get a little cute free blind bag when we got our drinks. My friend converted me and I 100% will be a returning customer.
Amazing drinks! The jasmine apple milk tea was a really unique combination that I haven't gotten elsewhere before. Would definitely get again. The matcha was also really good! And I love how they use floral flavors in so many drinks. Service was also amazing. The workers were all so nice and helpful. The one thing is that it was quite crowded in there because we went on a Sunday afternoon. But glad to see the business is doing so well! The workers were still really helpful, and we got our drinks very fast. They had a really cool organization system to keep track of all the drinks being made at the same time. The shop also has such a cute brand and aesthetic in there. I will definitely return to try more!
Molly Tea is my favorite boba shop right now. I honestly think it'll be hard to beat. It's not too sweet, yet it's so fragrant. The tea flavor is strong, exactly what I am looking for. Yes, the hype is real. Believe it. The Pistachio Jasmine Coco is sent favorite right now. The line goes fast when ordering, and it doesn't take too long to get your drinks. At the beginning, it would take forever, but they've improved.
Cute and aesthetically pleasing spot with a nice amount of seating, but it gets crowded very quickly. The space is a bit narrow, especially near the entrance, so when there's a line it piles up fast and they definitely get busy. A tip I saw from other reviews was to order on the app, and I'm so glad I did. I placed my order before they even opened and scheduled a pickup time, which saved a ton of time because the line was huge when we got there. I'd recommend ordering at least 30 minutes ahead with how popular this place is. Also, parking can be tough since it's a shared lot in a busy complex. Customer service was also good. Friendly staff. The drinks were great. The quality really stands out. I love jasmine tea and it definitely lived up to the hype in both taste and quality. A couple small issues though - my husband's drink was missing the boba in his drink and I asked for less ice but got no ice. I just added some at home. Overall, we had a good experience here and it's a place I'd come back to when in the area.
MOLLY TEA is Houston's new hot spot for milk teas! They are known for its fragrant, premium floral and milk teas, especially its jasmine varieties. The interior was very pretty and had pretty decent amount of seating. The lines move fast and wait wasn't bad. I waited few weeks after they opened to come since this place was very highly anticipated and hyped up. I ordered the snowy peach oolong and white champaca matcha milk tea. I wished I asked for less whipped cream on the snowy peach oolong and the matcha was very smooth in the white champaca matcha milk tea. Both drinks had a nice floral fragrant and enough sweetness for me. I really enjoyed both my drinks and can't wait come back to try different flavors.
Molly Tea is located in the Dun Huang center only a few doors down from Kung Fu Tea. Well lit, a decent sized place, and some tables to hang out. I honestly don't know much about the chain other than they're from mainland China so this is coming from that perspective. There wasn't too much of a line on a Saturday afternoon. I got the: WHITE CHAMPACA OOLONG MILK TEA (less ice, 70% sugar, sago added): it's a very nice tea that came through the milk. A good choice for milk tea. It didn't wow me, but I also definitely wouldn't say no to round two. MATCHA WHITE CHAMPACA SALTED CHEESE (less ice, 70% sugar, sago added): I wanted a surprise and asked the cashier to surprise me and she picked this one. I do like matcha and this one was a pretty good one! There was a good balance between oolong, matcha, and cheese topping and I marginally liked this more only because it stood out in comparison. I haven't had a matcha latte that included another tea before. I don't think this visit gave me the best feel for the place, especially with the sheer amount of boba places in the area, so I will probably return to Molly Tea to try other drinks to get a better idea on if they get two thumbs up or only one. A solid place overall!
the location is super busy yet efficient. you can either order on a large tablet or at the register. i got the jasmine mango smoothie. it wasn't as sweet as i wanted, but that's because i went with the recommended 75% sugar so that's my fault. still, the drink was good light and refreshing!
All the haters that complain about the wait time gotta get the app lol. My friends in nyc had proclaimed this place as the best in New York amidst hundreds of boba shops, so I knew to be hyped when this came to Houston. Molly separates itself from the pack with its superior tea flavor. You have to let the first sip sit in your mouth as it covers your taste buds. Enjoy the floral fragrance of white champaca, jasmine, or dancong. You won't regret it!
I was so excited to try Molly tea after hearing all the hype and I'm happy to say that it definitely lives up to it. I got the premium jasmine milk tea, 70% sweet as they recommended and I loved it! So refreshing and fragrant jasmine flavor. (10/10) The staff is also super friendly and even when there is a line it moved pretty quickly. There is some seating and the interior is very well decorated and clean because it is brand new. I can't wait to try the snowy jasmine next!
I have been anticipating the opening of Molly Tea ever since they announced that they were coming to Houston, so I knew I had to stop by even with the line stretching out the door. To my surprise, the line moved incredibly fast. They are able to take orders and prepare drinks at a speed I have yet to experience at any other popular boba shop in Houston. The shop itself is a bit on the smaller side, so I wouldn't recommend planning to hang out there during peak dinner hours due to the crowd. They have a fairly limited menu that is tea focused, but I didn't mind at all as someone who loves all things jasmine milk tea. I ordered the "Snowy Jasmine" which is a jasmine milk tea with jasmine infused whipped cream topped with pecans. I was initially intrigued about the addition of the pecans, but in the end, it really complicated the floral taste of the drink.

I've been to Molly Tea in California and Washington, so when i heard they were coming to Houston I was super excited. You would enjoy Molly Tea if you like strong, herbal tea flavors. If you like sweet drinks... this is most likely not up your alley. I believe the drinks come at an automatic 70% sweetness... and the 70% here is equivalent to 30%-50% sweetness elsewhere. The jasmine teas are my favorite, they are very floral/tea-forward. Perfect for tea-lovers. My go-tos would be the Snowy Jasmine and the Premium Jasmine Matcha. This location does tend to be very busy, but keep in mind you have 3 place to order: at the counter or the 2 kiosks. To skip the crowd/line. You can also order ahead on ChowBus. read more

This place incorporates jasmine & other florals into their drinks. Highly recommend drinking their drinks with their special straw. It allows you to slowly enjoy all the flavors of the drink. Even though it was busy & crowded, the service was very efficient. The space is more like a grab & go when it gets busy especially during the weekend. There's a couple seating against the wall. The premium jasmine mango coconut tea was a great mixture of mango & jasmine. I can't really taste the coconut tho. The premium jasmine matcha milk tea was so creamy. It had a good matcha & jasmine flavor; very balanced. Overall, the drinks here were so good! I can't wait to try their other drinks in the future. read more

Would not get again! Still a long wait even at 9pm on a Wednesday. I personally got the dancong milk tea with "brown sugar boba" (it tasted straight up only like milk, lack of tea flavor and the worst part was the boba. It did not taste like it was made fresh at all, it reminded me of those canned boba drinks and the texture of the boba was terrible. Do not order the boba!) A couple of friends got a variety of other drinks and out of all of them the pistachio jasmine coco was the most decent one because you could actually taste the tea flavor. Average cost was $8/drink. They do have a cute togo bag that is insulated which they give out. Parking - within the dun huang plaza Limited seating indoors. read more
So happy Molly tea is now here in Texas. We don't live here in Houston but we have one opening in dallas soon! We first had it in New York and it is the best jasmine milk tea ever. I had it twice in NY. The location is super busy here and even on Wednesday night, parking was rough. It was packed in Molly but they were efficient and fast. The servers were all very nice. Their to go bags even had a little insulation to it too. We got the original jasmine milk tea, snowy milk tea and snowy peach oolong milk tea. All were tasty and good. BUT... for some reason. The jasmine tea was not as strong and fragrant as it was in NY. I hyped it up to my sis and was let down it did not live up to it. Even My husband thought so too. We will try once more to see if it was an off day. This cafe did have tables to sit down and enjoy n in the cool ac in Houston heat. In New York, it was standing only to order and had to wait outside for our drinks. read more

Ive been here a few times with family and I am still trying to understand the hype. It's good but idk I think CHAGEE tea is better. Long wait due to the hype so expect to wait. You can order at the 2 kiosks or at the register. I ordered the jasmine matcha and it just wasn't sweet enough. A bit too milky for my preference. read more
Currently my top milk tea brand, or at least within Houston. They have an excellent selection of tea, insanely fragrant. Love the narrow straw that helps you enjoy your tea much longer. My current go-to flavor would be the jasmine, just waiting for them to have the gardenia flavor like they do in Flushing (and on their marketing...) Inside, there's a decent amount of seats, with tables towards the back. Not bad for studying, compared to the 1 table at Heytea (it didn't even have one at its own opening). The lines were pretty intense opening weekend. It's gotten much better since, though the wait between order and getting your drink is still ~20 minutes, even with no line. Love that they have some fun promotions, like the ring toss. We got coupons for 10% off and a BOGO. Pro tip: use their Molly Tea US app to order while you're on the way, it cuts down on the wait line significantly. Also they have some intro coupons. read more

If you like authentic tea this has it. You get more of the tea flavored like tea bags/tea leaves. It's a new location and there's only one so they get busy as soon as they open. You can order at the front or tablet. For some reason the tablet forces you to buy a bag and it's $6.99 not cheap/cute at all. I should've ordered at the front... the inside is cute and looks very luxurious for a boba shop. It's a bit small for the amount of people that's in and out of it. The tea doesn't have the black boba it's more of the popping crystal boba and you have to add it it is an additional fee. I tried the dancong tea and did not like that flavor. However, it did have a fresh authentic tea flavor. I also tried the white champa salted cheese. It tasted alright. The cheese flavor did not really come through or was salty. It just tasted kinda like foam. read more
Molly tea exceeded my expectations. The decor is elegant and bright. The staff were friendly even though they were slammed with orders and my drinks were excellent. If you're looking for strong good quality teas then this place is for you. My friend and I came on a Friday night & it was extremely busy with the lines going all the way outside. However the wait time to order and receiving our drinks wasn't bad at all. I decided to get 3 drinks. I got the Snowy peach oolong, premium jasmine tea & pistachio jasmine coconut. The snowy peach oolong was good, very fragrant and tea flavor was strong. I love that they added pecans to give the drink some texture. The jasmine tea was by far the strongest tea I've had in a while, very floral and good quality tea. The pistachio jasmine coconut was my favorite, nutty from the pistachio, smooth and strong tea flavor. If you're expecting your drinks to be sweet then this isn't the place for you. I was so satisfied with my drinks that I came back the next day to order their Jasmine Apple milk tea. Very unique drink, strong apple & tea flavor, and well presented drink. Overall, this will be my go to spot if I want some strong tea. Good service, nice decor & great drinks. I'll be back for sure. read more
This place is tea... quite literally. This is a special treat I have ever so often because I do think their drinks are a bit overpriced. I think the best drinks I've had here are the peach oolong milk tea and the pistachio jasmine. Very fragrant teas across the board. Cute, iconic eye catching packaging. One con is that I feel like they're inconsistent. I can order the same drink on different days and one won't be as good as the other... what's up with that! Be prepared for ridiculously long lines after dinner on the weekends. read more
Drinks 4/5 Service 4/5 Storefront 4/5 I happened to be next door when this place first opened and saw the line out the door. After a few weeks, I dropped by to try it now that the line has died down a bit. Don't be daunted by the crowd - most of the people are waiting for their drinks, which seems to be the hold-up. There are two ways to order - at one of the two digital kiosks or at the register. I recommend the register if you know what you want. I took a while browsing through the kiosk and I could tell people were getting mad. And then I couldn't even finish my order because it wouldn't let me add a drink. Probably user error. After putting in my order at the register, I sat down to wait, and there was a screen with orders that were ready or in progress. It took 30 minutes to get my 3 drinks - not because there weren't enough people making drinks, but because there was only one expediter. Drinks were just piled up on the counter and the one lady bagging the orders couldn't keep up. By the end, I realized my 3 drinks were just sitting there. You really just have to watch the process and go up there and ask for your drinks. Otherwise, they just sit there. Also, with all the people waiting for their drinks (standing and sitting), it started feeling a bit claustrophobic inside. I ordered the Jasmine Apple milk tea (50% sweet) and thought this was the best of the bunch (5+/5). Never tasted this flavor before and agree with other Yelpers that this is refreshing and not too sweet. However, my drink was a bit watered down, since it was sitting on the counter for a while. Also tried the Dancong milk tea (50% sweet) without knowing what dancong is, but it's definitely a very distinctive taste. Almost tasted a bit like barley to me. It wasn't my cup of tea, so although it wasn't bad and could taste the quality, I give this a 3/5. The third drink was of course the White Champaca Matcha Milk (70% sweet). Mainly wanted to try out the Matcha, and this was indeed a rich and frothy matcha (4/5). As others have noted, the drinks here a bit pricy - $6.99 for the standard medium. What I liked the most were the fancy straws. When I first looked in the pretty pink bag, I thought the "straws" were just stir sticks and was a little upset that there were no straws. But upon opening one, I found a that it was 3 mini straws bundled together, which was fun to sip through. The price is probably also reflects the nice cup lids, with the pop top openings. The re-usable pink bag houses lined paper cup holders at the bottom, and the inside is insulated - I'd probably come here just for the bags! Now that I know I like the Jasmine Apple milk tea, I'll just download the app and order it ahead of time. I found that single orders were called faster, as the expediter didn't have to line it up to "wait" for the other drinks. As others have noted, the drinks are not very sweet but 50% was still good. Molly Tea has finally opened in Houston I went once during their soft opening and again during grand opening. I tried this place for the first time when I visited New York at their Chinatown location and really really loved their jasmine milk tea. They have soo many employees here it looks like a factory. The line can seem long but it actually moves kinda fast. They also have an app to order earlier online as well as some rewards. I have tried their jasmine milk tea, white champaca milk tea, jasmine matcha, and pistachio jasmine coconut. The jasmine milk tea wasn't as strong and flavorful as the one I had in NYC, but it was a lot stronger the second time I came. I honestly liked the white champaca milk tea but I still like jasmine more. I thought the jasmine match was just ok, the matcha flavor was too light. The pistachio jasmine coconut was my favorite. It is so refreshing. The first time I got it, the jasmine flavor was a little weak and it had too much coconut flavor. The second time the jasmine flavor was stronger and it was so good. This place is new so people should give them some time. This location is very overcrowded at the moment. I recommend ordering on the app 30 mins before arriving. I did that last time, and I still waited. I usually get the jasmine milk tea, the popular one. It's decent, but it's watery compared to Molly tea at other locations. I've had Molly tea at other cities and China, and this place is really good. Hopefully the line isn't as long and drinks taste better in a few months. read more

Another day, another boba tea place in Houston. Molly Tea specialises on teas with jasmine green tea as their base, and builds other flavours on top of them. Right now, everyone and their family are doing everything pistachio so tried their pistachio coconut water tea, and it was alright. I have had better pistachio drink at Heytea. However, their jasmine green milk tea, Jasmine apple milk tea, oolong milk tea, dancong tea, and white champaca tea are fragrant, and delicious. Quite pricey too, so tab can run up to $50 or more for 4 or 5 drinks because they charge for add ons. read more
Finally had to check out the newest tea shop in town! I loved jasmine tea so this is a welcomed surprise! Got the premium matcha jasmine tea and the premium jasmine milk tea. Both were delicious, not overly sweet, and very fragrant! You can really taste the jasmine however I wish it was a tad stronger. Can definitely tell its a much more premium jasmine tea used compared to other tea shops in the area. The wait however was atrocious. Similar to Heytea's ordering system, all their order numbers are on the board. To be fair though, this is the hottest tea shop in town right now. There were ~80ish drinks ahead? And it took an hour. Additional 30 mins of that was waiting outside to order. Seems like they really clogged up on making their drinks vs people ordering. My comparison mostly stems from Heytea as I once ordered when there were 117 drinks ahead and it only took 30 mins on a sunday noon time frame. Perhaps their drinks are easier to pump out. Space is quite vibrant inside and clean. They have a section of the bar counter dedicated to smelling the jasmine tea leaves and wow they're amazing. The togo carry bag is so nice! It's a much higher quality pink bag where they carefully put your drinks that seems semi-insulated to keep drinks cold/hot. This was pretty surprising to me and a first. I wonder if this is going to be a continuing thing. I've never seen any other tea shop have such a high quality togo carry bag. Overall I loved the tea, its a nice change up compared to all the tea shops in area and gives them a run for their money. Stopped by during their soft opening and there was a line. The line moved relatively quick because they have multiple ordering points and lots of barista making the drinks. The wait was roughly 10-15min for the drinks to be made which is not terrible, given how busy they were. The matcha Jasmine milk tea was very fragrant, light, and not too sweet. The matcha layer on top was creamy and very earthy. This flavor combo is amazing and I can see why the line gets so long during soft opening! I will definitely try to come back after the hype dies down. read more
Three stars for Molly Tea. I stopped by today and it was extremely crowded. The ordering line moved fairly quickly, but the real wait was for the drinks since there were tons of orders ahead and a large group of people waiting. I've had Molly Tea in New York and loved their gardenia tea, which ended up being my favorite, but unfortunately they didn't have it available this time. Instead, I tried the snowy jasmine and matcha. Both were decent, just not particularly memorable. In my opinion, HeyTea is slightly better in terms of flavor. That said, I'd be willing to come back and give it another try once they have the gardenia tea again. read more

I enjoyed my morning at the new "it spot"! I lined up a couple of minutes until opening at 11am, and wasn't surprised there was already a line. I got their Jasmine Apple Milk Tea, White Champaca Oolong Milk, and Premium Jasmine Milk Tea. One thing I immediately noticed was how strong their jasmine tea flavor is! It's very floral and definitely fresh. They recommended that you get light ice and 70% sweetness, however I opted for 30% sweetness and it was perfect. My favorite of the three was their Jasmine Apple tea because apple isn't something I'd normally order. The inside is very nicely decorated with lots of lighting, and there were a lot of staff working in different stations behind the counter. I'd return again to try other options! read more
I visited the new Molly Tea in Chinatown for their soft opening and grand opening weekend! They are located in a very busy complex with several other food/drink businesses so parking can depend on the day and time you go. The staff were so efficient and friendly. I loved the sophisticated merch themed wall decor and elegant sitting area. I tried the iced jasmine milk tea with 70% sugar level and regular ice level and the iced jasmine matcha with 50% sugar level and regular ice. Both were very unique in taste with strong tea & floral flavors, which I typically enjoy. I found the thin three hole straw very unique and allowed you to slowly taste the drink with intention. I found both the sweetness level to be the perfect amount for me. You can easily taste the high quality ingredients. I saw there is also an app you can download, which includes a birthday reward. I definitely look forward to visiting again soon! read more
Yes it's finally open!! The first Molly Tea location in Texas located in the best place in Houston for milk tea central at the Dun Huang plaza. Was super excited to see this place open up soon since last year! I first tried it at their location in Chicago and HOPED it would come to Texas. Currently doing Soft opening from Feb 3-5 & 12% off drinks Feb 6-8 is the Grand opening & bogo drinks! They definitely know their jasmine tea here. I did realize they don't have their entire menu just yet, however the employee I did talk to say it'll be in the near future. They have this jasmine mango smoothie that's not in the menu yet that I absolutely LOVED so hopefully they get it soon. All drinks are recommended about 70% sweet so I didn't change anything on my orders: Pistachio White Champaca Coconut - 10/10 even though it's not their jasmine tea and instead uses Champaca green tea, it's still one of my absolute favs!! White Champaca Oolong milk tea - 8.5/10 it didn't taste like how I remembered it, almost felt a little watered down on the tea flavor on this one. They did just open, so give them time to get acclimated to the influx of people coming in as they get ready for their grand opening and beyond. There was already a line which I didn't wait too long for at all! They work super fast here and it's pretty much organized so far. The interior is bright and really pretty for pictures! Cannot wait to keep coming back here. Molly tea and Hey tea are one of my top faves thus far!! read more

Molly Tea, Houston, TX (Chinatown) Jasmine milk tea - 9.5/10 - 75% sweet - Perfect balance of sweet and strong, probably the best jasmine milk tea ive had Pistachio jasmine coco - 9/10 - 75% sweet - The pistachio cream on top was so creamy, i loved the crunch of the pistachios Jasmine matcha - 8.5/10 - 75% sweet - Both jasmine and matcha flavors were strong, i would prefer more matcha tho The best spot for jasmine tea has made their way to Houston! I loved all the drinks and was impressed with how flavorful and strong their teas were. They recommend 75% sweet for all their drinks which was perfect! Definitely a fantastic addition to the area - the Molly Tea floral tea drinks never disappoint. This King Jasmine Mango Coconut was nice and refreshing, and had a good amount of lime and pulp to keep it from being too sweet. The lines are definitely pretty long, so another place where ordering ahead on the app is a better idea, but the decor and aesthetic of the shop is on point! Be ready to fight the crowd for parking though! read more
