I might get backlash for this, but the drink I had here was pretty mid and overrated. I got the Snowy Jasmine which is their signature Jasmine Milk Tea with a whipped cream top. The tea itself was pretty disappointing. I got it at 70% sweetness, but it lacked flavor and seemed watered down. I did get more flavor when I got to the bottom of the drink, so it was not mixed well. Compared to similar products at Chagee and Bako Tea House, the flavor was super weak in comparison. Considering the prestige of this brand, I have a feeling I just got a bad order. The whipped cream was solid though and I enjoyed munching on the crushed pecan toppings. I would reccommend downloading the Molly Tea app and placing your order in advance since the wait times can get pretty long. I visisted this shop on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes after my designated wait time from the app for my drink to be ready. For parking, there's a tiny lot in front that's usually occuppied, but also street parking. I ordered the Pistachio Jasmine Coconut Boba Tea and it was 9/10. Molly Tea delivers with its great balance of flavor in this particular drink. Not one single flavor overpowers the entire drink. You get a real taste of Jasmine tea, coconut and pistachios. I also enjoyed how Molly Tea integrates real pistachio crumbs in the drink giving it an extra kick in flavor and texture. I like to considered myself an avid boba drinker and i can say with confidence Molly Tea has also great boba texture and sweet flavor. All in all, i was thoroughly impressed with the Pistachio Jasmine Coconut Boba drink i ordered. If you decide to order inside, it can get pretty chaotic since the kiosks often have crowds gathered around them with no clear lines. If you don't wanna wait long for your drink, i would say try some other place cause this business sure does have its crowds on weekends. Parking itself was tricky as their lot was full and nearby street parking was all taken. Highly recommend ordering ahead of time to avoid waiting long period of time. DRINKS Great light floral teas. I tried my Camelia Zest tea, and it was delicious, but not $6.79 delicious. Also unfortunate is how much of the drink volume is taken up by the fresh orange slices inside. They took up even more space than ice, so that's sort of a scam and robbing you of more drink. I gave my Jasmine Mango Smoothie ($6.99) away to a stranger jogging by. He asked "what is this place?" He said he jogs by after work every night and has to dodge traffic in the form of both people and cars just to make it out alive on the mean streets of San Gabriel. I explained to him that I ordered at 11:08pm and my number was 1213- my heart dropped when I looked at the monitor and the "ready" orders were numbered a full 60 digits before mine in the mid 1100s. Which is crazy work when you consider there's no drink limit per order. May as well have been a thousand drinks ahead of mine. I received my three drinks an hour later at 12:12am. Ordered my drinks on Sunday and got them on Monday lol My mother sampled the Snowy Gardenia $7.79 and she enjoyed it. She did not have to do the work of coming here and ordering, though. I'd like my drink more if I didn't have to deal with this place. EXPERIENCE Even if the tea is good, I can't justify giving any tea shop a mark above 3 stars when it takes over an hour to get drinks out. No matter how nice or clean the shop aesthetics are. Since they're NEW, I'll revisit at some point and see if they act on any of their metrics and make improvements to the operation and whatever bottlenecks there are on drink output. Less drink options overall, limit options at night, set a maximum, hire more people, complete orders in batches- something anything to improve the awful wait time. The hype hasnt died down. The lines are still long. I don't know what crack they're putting in their drinks to make people come out for more. I came with a group of friends and it hasn't gotten any better. The pick up area has a hoard of people gawking at the workers get drinks out. Doesn't seem like ordering online would be any better because you'd still have to wait around. This time I got the jasmine oolong whatever the name was at 50% sweet. It looks like their menu has gotten bigger because they included apple flavored milk tea. My sister got some brown sugar milk tea boba drink topped with cocoa powder. It took an hour to wait for drinks, and time was spent by people watching and seeing a Prius make an illegal U-turn in front of the store, followed by an orchestra of honking. We got some idiots crowded by the door after I told them excuse me in a firm yet audible tone. Very lukewarm experience this time around. My drink is good, but I can't say the same for my sister. We came prepared with a card game and played multiple rounds of Sabobatage before our drinks were finally called (if this gives you a hint of mental preparation when coming).   Parking was already a bit of a headache. The lot is extremely small and fills up fast, so we had to circle and eventually park on the street. Not the end of the world, but it set the tone.   I ordered the White Champaca Milk Tea (2/5). It's described as having jasmine notes, and I chose 25% sweetness instead of the recommended 75% because I've heard their drinks can lean heavily floral. Maybe that was my mistake for adjusting the sweetness, but the drink just felt... flat. It wasn't bold, it wasn't memorable, and it didn't taste particularly special. For something I waited 40 minutes for, I expected more complexity or at least something distinct.   What really left a bad impression, though, was the service. The lid on my drink popped off almost immediately. I tried pressing it back on several times and it wouldn't stay sealed no matter how much I tried. When I went up to ask for help, I was met with a look that made me feel like I was being dramatic. The lid was placed back on and handed to me and when I picked up the cup to walk away, it popped off again. I was going to ask for a new cup, but the worker gave me a snarky look and she walked away before I could even say anything. At that point, I just gave up and drank it without a lid. It left a sour taste in my mouth about this establisment because I didn't feel valued as a customer.   It's frustrating when a place has so much hype but the experience doesn't match it. First time I ever tried Molly Tea was when I visited NY. I really liked it over there. Once this location opened here in CA, I became a regular like fallen prey. I keep coming back for the high-quality tea drinks with fragrant, well-balanced flavors. The entire menu has a floral tea focus. My favorites are the White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea and Premium Jasmine Matcha. Although I really enjoy the drinks, the reason I can only give this place 2 stars is because everything else is lacking. Service is unfriendly, wait times are usually long, parking sucks, and there is not enough seating to accommodate the amount of people that come here everyday. In addition, it seems that the staff are always uninformed about the brand's promotions. On their social media, they will often advertise special events, such as a free magnet or scented satchet, but it feels very deceiving because the staff never want to give me the free item even though I make the necessary purchases. With so many other good boba shops nearby, it's hard for me to want to continue supporting this chain when they don't treat customers well. It's true that they offer small incentives in exchange for 5 star reviews, as I have been offered multiple times myself. Went to Molly Tea on a recommendation, also after UG Tea got shutdown after being open for like 7 days?! Service was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. I just came back from a China trip and loved the tea-focused shops there (Chagee, HEYTEA) and decided to try all of the Chinese/Taiwanese places I could here in LA. Molly fits that bill and I love their ultra fragrant teas with the spill-proof packaging (double capped with a seal and a sipper lid). It's a lot but after traveling with a to-go bag and not having a single drop spill, the packaging is necessary for takeout. Unfortunately you don't get many customization options at all. I can't really order a plain non-milk tea, most are milk teas except Jasmine, and can't add boba to everything. They also only had agar boba for a while. I've tried the Jasmine, Peach Tieguanyin, Dancong Oolong, Jasmine Apple, Osmanthus, and Pistachio Champaca Coco and liked them all. I've never had champaca before and was a little surprised at the flavor, almost too floral and into soapy territory but it grew on me. This place is great. The tea is super delicious. I love the foam peaks. I would definitely go back again. They do a foam with peaks. Once you arrive, they put the foam so it doesn't melt. New store in the 626! I tried this in Las Vegas and loved the premium jasmine matcha! The store layout is the same. They move fast and it is spacious inside. Today I was able to try the premium jasmine and the snowy jasmine. The whip cream has jasmine infused in it. The line here at Arcadia wasn't long. I would definitely come again. read more

Molly tea is an extremely popular milk tea store. As popular and authentic as it is since it is from Shenzhen, China, I could not justify the wait for the drinks at all. This is my second time coming here and the wait was ~100 minutes long. I got the Premium Jasmine Milk Tea which was pleasant to drink and had a lot of great Jasmine fragrance and flavor. Although the drink itself was nice, the long wait and environment ruined the drink itself. I would prefer to go to another milk tea place that is just as good with no hour+ long waits with a fully stuffed store. I do not recommend this place if you do not want to waste your time. The phrase "time is money" never felt so real until you go to this place. Until Molly Tea figures out a balance of how to make drinks more efficiently, I probably won't be coming here. read more

Molly Tea is a super popular spot for milk tea. Would highly recommend ordering ahead of time and picking up especially over the weekend. Otherwise you're probably looking at easily an 1+ hour wait. I was grabbing dimsum nearby with family on Christmas Day and decided to pick up a drink from here for a post lunch treat. I saw some reviews saying that the wait times here were long, so I ordered online via Chowbus. Unfortunately something went wrong with their texting system, and I never got a text confirmation for my order. I had no idea when my order would be ready. I showed up to the store 50 minutes after I ordered to inquire and was told they were making drinks for orders placed one hour ago. They weren't ready with my order yet. Overall it was about 70 minutes after my order was placed that it was ready. It was a little bit confusing because my number was showing on the ready screen, but it wasn't actually ready for another 10 minutes. This seemed to be a common problem, as I heard it happening to other folks who tried to pick up their drinks. The store had a decent amount of seating, but it was completely packed on Christmas day. Also parking was kind of a pain. We got lucky with a spot in the small lot right in front of the restaurant, but there were only maybe five or six spots along with two handicapped ones, so your best bet is to find parking elsewhere and walk over. I got the premium jasmine milk tea for $6.99, as that seems to be their most popular drink. It was really good; I can see why it's so popular. The flavor of the jasmine tea really came through in the drink. I would totally get it again, but I thought it was a bit on the pricey side for the amount you get. I got it with 70% sweetness, which is the recommended amount, but I might try for 100% next time. I felt like 70% was okay, but after the ice started melting, the drink became a bit too diluted. Parking is hard here. There isn't a parking lot, it's mainly street parking and heavy traffic. Molly tea it self is a great milk tea spot. I would always order the white champaca oolong milk tea or premium jasmine milk tea. I love that it's floral and strong in tea flavor. There's usually a wait but it goes by quick! read more
