Welcome Molly Tea to San Jose! It's exciting to have this location of Molly Tea, especially for folks in North San Jose, Berryessa, and Milpitas. Located in the Rivermark plaza, you'll find plenty of parking around. We came during the grand opening when they were having their buy one get one special. I anticipated there'd be a line given their promo. We arrived around 8:20 pm and there was about a 20 minute line. I appreciate the efficiency of the location with three people taking orders and a good flow of an assembly line for making drinks. Although the screen said it would be about 30 minutes for our drinks, it only took 10 minutes. I ordered the premium jasmine brewed tea as well as the jasmine milk tea. Both are recommended at 70% sweetness but I got mine with 50%. I felt this to be a good level of sweetness for me since I generally like my milk teas at 25/30% sweetness at other boba spots. Their cups are smaller than the standard boba spot cup, but their tea quality is so good - especially their jasmine. If you're a jasmine tea lover, their tea is so fragrant and floral. The milk tea is creamy and light. The reason for docking one star is because of the ice. We opted for light ice since we were planning to drink these the next day and didn't want it to get watered down too much. We scooped out the ice at home and were surprised at how much ice they put in for light ice. Once taking the ice out, we were left with only half the drink. Just a precaution that light ice is quite a bit of ice. Other than that, tea is great and the service was friendly and efficient! read more

The grand opening was very busy, which is entirely understandable. It's exciting to have a new Molly Tea in the area as well. The wait in line after doors opened was ~1 hour, and the wait for drinks ~40 minutes, which I'm certain will only be true for the grand opening. One of the reasons for this rush are, of course, the Grand Opening deals, including the Buy 1 Get 1 from their Floral Fresh Milk Tea series and some other freebies/activities for early customers. The drinks are good! I think that they suit the Molly Tea standard, and I could really taste the strong tea flavor that I like. The sweetness also feels appropriate for the level I ordered. The reason for the low rating is because, when asked about the emblem/pin (listed as being available to the first 200 customers, of whom we were), the employees stated it was only available for the soft opening. This is confusing, as other reviewers posted today about receiving their pins during the Grand Opening. Honestly, it's disappointing that one of the Grand Opening deals that influenced our decision to wait for 2+ hours was either improperly communicated to the staff or otherwise lost in translation. I still think this is a good place to go if you like good milk tea, but I am frustrated enough by the disorganization today that I don't know if I will personally be back. read more

Very dystopian place. Harsh lighting, and when I went there was what sounded like cheap AI generated music playing at full blast. You order from a computer screen and get assigned a number. If you forget your number, you have to talk to a robotic employee who throws an exception when trying to process that you're a human being with an order and not a number. All the employees are forced to wear face masks and seem extremely unhappy and robotic. The worst part of all is all the WASTE. My drink came in a huge thick heavy plastic cup with a plastic wrap on top AND an additional plastic cover on top of that. The plastic cover had a useless piece that immediately gets thrown away (or probably littered). This particular location also has tons of signs everywhere telling you what to do and how to order, constant beeping from the order system, etc. The cups say "New experience of Eastern Tea", is that the new experience they want to deliver? It makes me never want to visit the orient. That being said, the jasmine tea I ordered did taste quite good, even with all the microplastics. read more

This is a very busy area, so parking may be hit or miss, especially on weeknights and weekends, but there is more parking further away in the other lot, parking garage, or on the street. Not the best service here, but my drink is always on point. My usual here is their Snowy Jasmine with white boba. I tried it with the brown sugar boba and it was too overpowering and sweet for the drink. The drink with the white boba is not too sweet, but it is just right especially with the whipped cream. Ordering through the kiosk is encouraged, so your only interaction with the staff is usually when you pick up your drink. The interior is modern and clean. However, there isn't much seating for a drink shop. I've also noticed that every time I visit, I'm constantly weaving around or bumping into other customers while trying to get from one area to another. This has got to be my favorite location in South Bay because parking is spacious, in comparison to the Sunnyvale/Cupertino locations. I got in line 15 mins after they opened at 11am, and it wasn't too bad. It took about 10 minutes to get to the kiosk, and another 10-15 minutes of waiting for my drinks. I ordered the Premium Jasmine Tea and the Snowy Jasmine, both are light and yummy if you enjoy the jasmine hint jn your teas. The line did get long shortly after since it was getting close to noon. The workers are attentive & the shop itself is so cute inside & out that I didn't want to leave! The girls ignored me for a long time and I just wanted to ask a simple question about the drinks. Then they weren't clear because when I ordered I ordered the promotion with the towel and the girl told me if I ordered the one with the promotion I would get the magnet. Then when I got it she was going to give me it with the magnet and I was like I think I was supposed to get a towel too. Because it cost more for the order with the towel. And then she took back the magnet and refused to give me the magnet even though she said it would come with it. I even asked if I could just have the magnet instead and they said no and smiled it me like they thought it was funny when they had told me the wrong thing. I'm just a bit mad about this experience because I mainly came for the magnet. The way she explained it before I paid I should have had both. And then not letting me have the magnet, even when I paid more is ridiculous when she originally was going to give it to me. I think they were more friendly to the other people in the store who were Asian and not to me since I was the only non Asian person in the store. I even asked for a refund and they refused. It's just a bit upsetting because the promos aren't communicated clearly and they ignore you if you aren't Asian. Really disappointed about the quality of this location of molly tea. Simply put. The drinks at this location are very disappointing compared to other Molly tea locations like on el Camino. The "milk tea" is way to watered down and you can't taste the tea, it just taste like milk. Also, the Peach milk tea drink at this location(one of my favorite drinks) was undrinkable.
