3.5 Tried 2 drinks for to go. I like the Mountain Black milk tea. It's smooth and rich, very tasty. But I would recommend to skip Green Grape Jasmine milk tea. I couldn't taste much grape or fruitiness. The jasmine tastes bitter(?) with a weird tart aftertaste.

First Charlie's Tea location in the Bay Area and it's located in Cupertino Village. The drinks are a hybrid between Chagee and Molly Tea. Even with the default recommended sweetness level, it isn't very sweet. The only cup size available for the drinks I ordered is medium and all of the toppings were already sold out on a Friday late afternoon. The drinks are given in a cute Charlie's tea branded insulated tote bag. Be prepared to wait - it took about 30 minutes for the order to be ready once placed at the self-service kiosk. There's seating inside, but fills up quickly on a weekend. Drinks / Food Jasmine Green Milk Tea The jasmine tea has more floral-forward notes and is creamy. I got the default recommended 70% sweetness level, less ice, and milk. Peach Oolong Milk Tea The peach oolong tea was fruit-forward and creamy (similar to the Jasmine Green Milk Tea drink). I also got the default recommended 70% sweetness level, less ice, and milk. Customer Service There's a couple of self-service kiosks to place orders. The only interaction with the staff is hearing order numbers being called out as they're ready and picking up orders from the designated pick up area. Ambiance Shades of brown accent walls, checkered forrest green and white floors, bright white signage, green velvet chairs, brown table tops, and woven beige chairs/stools. Some of the design accents are reminiscent of the Ralph Lauren cafe. Parking / Location It's located in the same plaza as Ten Ren, Matcha Town, and 99 Ranch. Parking is already challenging with the many restaurants and businesses in the shared parking lot.

I rlly wanted to like this place bc it seems so cute but the price of it vs what you can get nearby just didn't make it worth. I got the Ceylon black tea w whipped cream topping (one of the drinks on their popular menu). I thought the tea itself wasn't very amazing for how much it costed - 7/8 dollars. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad, but I think the drink tasted comparable to tenren (but tenren is cheaper). The theming of the place is really cute though I love the interior and it seems like it would be great for like studying or smth there. However there's no AC in the building so it got rlly hot especially with a lot of people waiting inside. Overall, maybe it was just an off day but I'll pass on this place next time

While parking is always chaotic for this plaza, Charlie's Tea enters the plaza to compete against Ten Ren and Fantasia. I guess there was a lot of hype around this spot because the lines were still very long despite not having any deals or being opening day. There are 2 self-ordering kiosks to my our left when you walk in. Many items were sold out at 2:20pm on Saturday afternoon. The interior is modern and chic and there seems to be a lot of seating. There's just SO many people standing around waiting for their orders. A slight breeze from their AC isn't helping in the heat given the amount of bodies in the store and the front door remaining open. There doesn't seem to be too many people woking. It took over 40 minutes to get our drinks (from the time of ordering), and there was probably another 20-30min of waiting in line. They didn't have too many plain tea drinks, but I ended up getting the lemon jasmine green tea (with lemon pulp) under the fruit drinks sections. The jasmine tea was really good and fragrant, and i probably could have skipped the lemon. They should have considered logistics for their demand: 1. have more hands on deck for the first few weekends after opening, and 2. hand out paper menus for people in line so they are ready to order by the time they get to the kiosk The paper menu picture i only found after finding a seat while waiting for the drinks. Also, while waiting, it's pretty difficult to hear the numbers being called out, and the screen is hard to see. They need a better system or need to update their system to something that makes more sense for this early demand. The bags are cute and they have different colored straws. I probably wont be coming back... ill stick with ten ren. The wait just isn't worth it. Probably better to wait for the hype to die down too.

My friend and I got the Green Grape Jasmine Milktea, Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream Top, Clovershrub Tea with Hazelnut Cream Top, and Peach Oolong Milktea. All drinks were great, definitely similar to a 65% sweetness. It's similar to Molly Tea in that aspect. My favorite was the Clovershrub Tea with Hazelnut Cream Top, very reminiscent to old milktea flavors like iTea. My friend really liked the green grape as it tasted similar to asian gummies/jelly candy. I love the fact that the bags are insulated as well. Would definitely return!

I came during their BOGO soft opening deal. It took about 30min to order + 30min to get your drink. The interior was super cute and had a very cozy coffee shop vibe. When I went on the Friday night they had a line DJ but I'm pretty sure he was only temporary there for the grand opening. As for drinks I got Clovershrub Tea Milk Tea and Green Grape Jasmine. Both drinks had a strong tea flavor. The Clovershrub reminded me of Dao Hong Pao Milk Tea. As for the Grape I through it was pretty unique and never had anything like it. Both drinks had a strong tea flavor and wasn't too sweet.

I kept hearing about Charlie's Tea from my friends and decided to come on a weekday to beat the long lines during grand opening. I came around 12:40PM and the line was pretty short. There are two kiosks and the line moves pretty fast. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I ordered the Grape Jasmine Milk Tea (recommended by my friend) and Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea (my personal choice). The workers are pretty fast so I only had to wait about 5 minutes for my order. The inside area is also spacious and aesthetic! Grape Jasmine MT: I definitely am less of a Jasmine fan, but this drink was pretty solid. I would say the grape flavor is very fragrant and reminds me of a Grape Jello taste. Not my personal choice but my friend really liked this one! Phoenix Oolong MT: This was pretty good, definitely more on the milky side and less tea forward. I'd definitely reorder this one next time as well! Excited to try more of the other drink options next time. :)

The interior of the place was extremely aesthetic and cute. I liked how there was plenty of seating options and tables as well. I went during the grand opening and there was even a DJ as well (great music, great vibes!). The line went by pretty fast even though it was pretty crowded and the drinks also came out not too slow either. I would say that the store was definitely more on the crowded side but seating wasn't too much of a fight either. ceylon black with pecan cream top - 7/10. I liked how crunchy and sweet the pecans were -- a very nice addition of texture. The cream itself was just their whipped cream, it had a cream flavor instead of the jasmine flavor that I was looking forward to (I am a huge Molly tea fan and their cream has a jasmine flavor to it). I would say that the cream texture was super fluffy and yummy to eat. The drink itself was pretty awesome too. It had a light tea flavor to it. I recommend drinking with the small straw that adds in air to help enhance the flavor. green grape jasmine milk tea - 5/10. If heytea green grape cloud and molly tea had a baby, this would be it. I love green grape and I love jasmine milk tea. But this one kind of confused me because it starts off refreshing with the green grape fruity flavor coming off strong and then it ends on a jasmine tea note. I'm not too sure if I like the flavors together but it intrigued me.

4.5 STARS Watch out, Molly! Cuz Charlie is coming for you! The amount of tea and matcha shops opening in the bay is so out of pocket. And, the newest one is Guangdong premium tea brand: Charlie's Tea aka 海外常称 Cha Li Yi Shi. This is their second U.S. location (first is SGV in SoCal) and the first Bay Area location. Charlie's took over Southland Flavor in Cupertino Village. Brace yourself for the parking lot! Currently takeout only via one kiosk (second kiosk was out of order). Online orders via HungryPanda to come. M E N U Specialty: Light, tea-forward Chinese milk teas, fruit teas, and signature cream toppings (like Molly Tea). Adjustable sweetness (they recommend 70%) and adjustable ice levels. Lactose-free milk is free and oat milk is +50 cents. *SOFT OPENING PROMO* This Weekend Only : 12% off all drinks. D R I N K S Prices shown before 12% discount. * Green Grape Jasmine Milk Tea ($6.99) - Request 50% sweet First time seeing/having grape *milk* tea and it works - the fresh sweetness nicely balances the creamy fragrant tea. Not too sweet. * Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea ($6.99) - Add brown sugar boba (+$1.29) - Request 50% sweet Smooth, milky, and mellow with floral fruity notes. The warm brown sugar boba was on-point, perfectly QQ and chewy. Since the boba was sweet, I would go down to 0% or 30% sweet next time. * Ceylon Black Tea w/ pecan cream top ($7.99) Dessert-like with fluffy whipped cream and buttery caramelized pecans, the toasty sweetness balances the tannins from the black tea. I prefer Molly Tea's rendition tho as theirs is more tea forward. S E R V I C E Friendly staff, they're organized and a well-oiled machine (you can watch the progress on the screen). Considering customers were placing large orders, we were in/out in 20 minutes (drinks took 10 minutes). A M B I A N C E Modern, polished indoor area with nine tables and one long communal table. Canto pop bumping. Overall, solid soft opening. If you like milky floral (not perfume-y) teas, Charlie's will be your jam.

Went here on a Saturday around 8pm with my friends, it was the BOGO deal for the weekend, and it was a huge line when we arrived. PARKING: in a plaza center, but there is a parking garage if you can't find any available parking during peak hours. PLACE: pretty big, and there is multiple seatings and everything. We got a table with 4 chairs. There is a number on a TV that tells you what they are preparing & if your order is ready. They call you through an intercom of your number. Also there are two kiosk machines, and you can probably get your order taken by a cashier but it is recommended to do the kiosk since they need everybody to help to make drinks. You can also adjust sweetness, ice, etc. DRINKS: Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream Top - so good, kind of tastes similar to Oolong in a way, I wish they added more pecans, but they only had so many options available. Clovershrub Tea with Hazelnut Cream Top - they actually didn't have hazelnut cream top so they subbed it with the pecan cream top, the teas taste different but I want to know what the hazelnut cream top tastes like. Peach Oolong Milk Tea - more milky than anything and tastes very good Green Grape Jasmine Milk Tea - I actually favored this one more because I love the taste of jasmine, highly recommend because it is super good. Overall, I would wait for the opening rush to die down and then try, not a lot of options available since they run out and huge lines, we waited about for 15 - 20 minutes before we got to the kiosk.

Drinks 4/5 I would say it's pretty standard drinks here but less milky compared to Molly tea. The peach oolong has a good balance of peach and oolong and the cream tops should definitely be enjoyed right after the drinks are made. I think if the cream tops were changed to jasmine flavor it would enhance the overall flavor of the drink. Service 2/5 Extremely disorganized and unprofessional on their grand opening day on Friday. Their system was down and glitching for a solid 20 minutes and not a single worker came out to explain the situation until later. We had to wait in a second line to order our free drink at the cashier, total took 1 hour to just place my order even though I was like 25th in line. The menu they passed out also had different pricing for the same drinks? They're also extremely slow at pumping out the orders and the workers don't look like they know what they're doing. Also came on Saturday grand opening and they seem to have adjusted and learned from their short comings. They also gave out magnets on Saturday, not sure if there's limited quantities. Ambiance 5/5 Aside from service, I love the vibe and design of this place. It a mixture of green and brown and incorporated a little bit of vintage. It is also spacious and provides a comfortable space for people to talk and do work.

If you do not know where to go milk tea, this is the spot. I used to torn between Molly tea and Moontea, but now I definitely choose Charlie's tea because they have both of my favorite drink in one place. The tea is rich and flavorful that somehow it tastes even better after sitting in the fridge overnight. My top three drinks are Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream Top, Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea and Green Grape Jamine Milk Tea. Now I am officially a Charlie's tea hoarder.

If you love creamy and refreshing milk teas, Charlie's the spot for you. Their Ceylon black with pecan cream top is one of their top drinks for a reason. Ceylon tea flavor is strong, pairs well with their tea jelly, and leaves you feeling light even tho it's a milky drink. Their Jasmine green milk tea is very similar to Molly tea in my opinion. Looking forward to trying their other drinks next time. Waited 20 minutes for our two drinks during their bogo promotion on a Thursday early evening. Self-order kiosks. Plenty of seats/tables inside with access to bathrooms. Will come back!

We tried the strawberry avocado smoothie and the mango avocado smoothie and both were great! I would recommend getting the mango if you had to choose between the two. We got 30% sugar (recommended) and I would say that was perfect! We added the oat pearls, and they were good. Different than the typical boba. I may prefer the other kind of boba, but my husband liked the oat boba better. I would love if they had both options to choose between and would love a few more non caffeinated options. It's quite different from a typical boba shop, focusing more on fruit-based and creative specialty drinks, with several unique combinations that you don't see very often. This visit, I ordered the Avocado Snow Ice drink, the signature milk tea, and a durian drink. The avocado drink was probably the biggest surprise of the day. It tasted like real avocado rather than artificial flavoring, with a rich and creamy texture. The grains and seeds at the bottom added an interesting layer of texture, making it feel more like a dessert than a drink. The signature milk tea had a noticeable tea flavor and wasn't overly sweet, making it easy to enjoy. As for the durian drink, it delivered exactly what durian lovers would hope for--strong aroma, rich flavor, and a texture similar to a durian milkshake. The packaging also deserves a mention. The designs are distinctive and eye-catching, giving the brand a unique identity and making the drinks great for photos as well. Prices are a bit higher than your average boba shop, but the quality of ingredients and creativity behind the menu make it feel justified. After trying boba and tea shops for years, it's refreshing to find a place that offers something genuinely different. Not every drink will be everyone's favorite, but the menu is memorable enough to make you want to come back and explore more. Overall, a solid first visit, and I'll definitely be back to try some of their other specialties.

I like how their employees ask if you want whipped cream on top of Snowy drinks when you arrive at the pick-up counter. I believe you can ask for the whipped cream in a paper cup instead and get a small package of pecans. They automatically do this for online takeout orders. The Snowy Jasmine is phenomenal! It's fragrant and floral, you can tell the tea is high quality and not watered down. I absolutely love the pecans topping, so unique and yummy. I used to think their super thin straw was just a gimmick, but the tea honestly tastes better through the small straw than a regular straw. 4 stars because the Tongmu Lapsang Bubble Tea is just OK, nothing special. Sunnyvale is one of the better locations and Molly Tea is a solid choice for bubble tea.
