Pros: (1) clean (2) actually lessen sugar when you select 25% or 50% less sugar. (3) watermelon drink is AMAZING and very fresh. (4) relatively quick ordering if there isn't a big line. (5) very drink is sealed with a plastic seal...so no chance or spillage in car. Best idea and first time I've seen it done properly. Cons: (1) very limited drink selection If I was in the area I'd get the watermelon drink for sure. Wish they had more bubbles or chewy aloe Vera Boba as an option.

Mango pomelo sago and roasted oolong with soybean cheese foam (large size, 30% sugar)

I stumbled upon this shop on Instagram (I'm a sucker for pandas) and stopped by for both the soft opening and the grand opening. The interior is adorably decorated and pretty spacious. The soft opening had a 15% off L size drinks and grand opening had a BOGO offer for 4 different drinks as well as scratchers for prizes. I wish the BOGO deal let you pick 2 different drinks instead of getting 2 of the same one but it was still a good deal (I was with a friend, so we traded the extra drinks). I ordered the roasted oolong milk tea with soybean cheese foam and the mango pomelo sago, both at the recommended 30% sugar. There were a lot of people making drinks so the wait wasn't too long. I loved both my drinks, though I do think $7.99 for the oolong drink with no boba was a bit steep in price. That being said, I enjoyed it a lot. The milk tea was very smooth and the soybean flavor came through with a little saltiness from the cheese. The mango sago was pretty standard and delicious. This shop will definitely be a staple for me when I'm in the area. I want to try the kyoto grape drink and watermelon tea next time!

Came by for their soft opening (knowing their BOGO offer on grand opening day will likely have long waits) to try out a new boba shop from China! I got their Mango Pomelo Sago which is their best seller and also recommended by their (kind and welcoming) staff. I thought 30% sweetness was the perfect amount of sweetness. Mangos are in season and the drink was mostly delicious, but reducing by 1 star because the drink had hints of bitterness due to the pomelo bits being bitter. A bit of a bummer :( My friend got the Milk Tea with Taro Ball and it was pretty good too. The tea taste was light and drink was smooth; taro balls were sweetened and chewy. Pretty good overall. Excited to try their oolong milk tea with soybean cheese foam next time!

Checked out the new Tea By Do Bay Area grand opening! They currently have a BOGO on 4 select drinks. You do have to get the same exact drink for the BOGO which I thought was disappointing. They give you a scratcher with each order to get a prize and I won the panda plush! Their merch is so adorable. If you post on social media, you can also get a sf pin. For drinks, I got the mango sago with 50% sweet and it was pretty good. It was very light, not very thick. Since mangos are in season, it was the perfect sweetness. The wait wasn't too long for a grand opening which I appreciated but the service was a bit lacking. My number was called but I still had to wait for a bit to get my drink which I thought was confusing. Some of the workers were a bit rude imo but they may have just been stressed. I'm not sure if I'd drive all the way here to get a drink, but if I'm in the area or if they have a nice promotion, I may come try it out again.

I saw this brand a lot when I visited China so was surprised to see it open up here! I went on Saturday around 5pm, the line was pretty quick to order and drinks took around 20-30 min. I came at a pretty busy time but it was nice how at least the line to order was quick. Since it was grand opening they had a bogo and free scratcher. They also had additional hungrypanda promotions going on so definitely was nice to check out while waiting for your drink. I got the oolong milk tea with soybean foam bogo and it actually exceeded my expectations! It kind of reminded me of the soybean foam at 3CAT. I got 30 sweetness which was still a bit sweet to me so maybe I'll try zero next time and see how it goes. I'm excited to come back and try the other drinks!

Stopped by to check it out since we were in the area. Upon entering, the vibes were already off -- trash everywhere, and the staff seemingly ignorant to what was going on in the store. The menu is also VERY small -- 10 drinks total, don't offer alternative milks, and the BOGO deal only applies to certain drinks. On top of all that, the BOGO deal requires you to get two of the exact same drinks. The whole promotion is honestly misleading and quite disappointing. We waited 10 minutes for our drink, seeing other numbers move ahead of us, only to see them mess it up, and then proceed to drink it themselves (pictured below) before remaking our drink. When we finally got our drinks, it was disappointing. The cup sizes are very small to be paying $7-8 for each drink. And the level of sweetness is insanely high -- it's quite telling when they're RECOMMENDED level of sugar is 30%... they don't offer anything lower than that and 30% is already more than enough. It's appalling to me honestly how there were 6 people "working" behind the counter, but not a single person could be bothered to pick up the trash all over the floor and front of the store. The grounds outside their door was LITTERED with their straw wrappers... It might not look so bad in the video but being there in person, it felt like you couldn't sit anywhere without feeling disgusting. For a new boba store opening, you would think that they would put more care into upholding a clean storefront...

Drinks 4/5 Came on their grand opening and tried two drinks! They're know for their Mango pomelo sago but it was okay. It didn't have that creamy mango texture or the mango fragrance and the drink comes with ice, which dilutes the drink if you don't drink it within 30 minutes. I really enjoyed the oolong milk tea with soybean cheese foam! I could smell the oolong fragrance while waiting for my order and the soybean cream went surprisingly well with the drink. Overall, their drinks are on the sweeter side so 30% sweetness is the perfect amount. The two drinks I got were $7 + $1 (large) each, and I think $8 for a boba drink with no toppings is too expensive.. *Grand Opening BOGO: Free drink must be the same drink. Service 5/5 This was such a well organized grand opening compared to other recent boba grand openings. Everything was set up (including prize booth, hungry panda booth, and signs) before they opened. They also handed out flyers for the bogo drinks beforehand and someone was writing down my orders on the flyer before I got to the ordering counter, which made it very efficient. They give out one scratcher per BOGO, not per receipt, which is nice. I got first prize for both my scratchers and got two panda plushies. To get the magnet, you must make a post, not a story. Ambiance 4/5 It is very spacious compared to some boba shops in the bay but a little more decor on the wall would be nice. I wish they had more lighting and made it brighter inside to bring out that lowfi cafe vibe.

I was so disappointed by the BOGO promotion. It was not clearly stated that both drink has to be the same. I only found when ordering which made promotion feel misleading and not attractive as advertised. I and my friend ordered Kyoho Grape Jasmine Tea Smoothie with Jelly & Oolong milk tea with Soybean Cheese Foam. The grape jasmine tea tastes overly sweet and artificial. I could barely taste any tea compared to Heytea the quality quited disappointed. On the other hand, the oolong milk tea that I like the cream on top was rich and creamy. Even though I choose the sweetness 50%, the sweetness is ovely sweet. Overall, neither of two drinks are stood out or felt worth the price. I am unlikely to return.

茶百道!This renowned brand in China finally set its foot here in the bay! We tried it before they officially announced the opening while they are doing test runs. Unsurprisingly, the store and staff were super busy even during soft opening. But the quality of the product still holds. We ordered a grape smoothie and a taro milk tea. The flavor were good. But we couldn't find the taro in the tea as shown in the photo, not sure if staff was too busy.. We will come here again after their grand opening!

I came here expecting Yifang but seems they closed down recently and was replaced by TeaByDo. It's newly opened with some remodeled interior so it's brighter and with more seating which is nice. I ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago ($7+$1 large) which they said is one of the most popular drinks. Unfortunately I didn't really like it. It was very watery which is different from what I usually get from other places for mango pomelo sago, and there is an artificial taste from the mangos with an aftertaste too. Not sure if there's some syrup that's used which was causing my dislike. My friend shared and had similar thoughts as me.

we got the gardenia milk tea and the mango pomelo sago and i enjoyed the mango pomelo sago more because it wasn't as sweet with 30% sugar. it helped that the mangos were a little bit sour. i also really enjoyed the pomelo and the drink overall had a nice consistency. while i thought the gardenia had a strong tea taste, 30% sugar was still too sweet for me. i will give them the benefit of the doubt though because i did come on their first bogo day and they were probably overwhelmed by the number of drinks to make.

Cute little tea shop just opened recently right next to Hearth BBQ. Tried the jasmine green with jelly. It was pretty good. Cozy and relaxing environment with comfy seating. Nice place to unwind. Liked it!

Ambience: The shop is not tidy and has a lot of random objects/decorations around; for instance, Christmas decorations and posters that are peeling off. There are also signs that are leaned against the wall in customer areas, like it is an extension of their store storage space. The lack of tidiness & cleanliness made me apprehensive to touch anything and it is certainly not welcoming. I don't even want to imagine how their kitchen area is upkept if they can barely manage their public space. Drinks: My partner and I ordered the white peach boba milk tea and the tiger milk tea. It's really nothing special and it befuddles me that there is high praise for the quality of their drinks. The tea flavour is not strong, nor is the boba made with quality in mind as it was hard in the center. I'm under the assumption that their fruit teas are front-loaded with artificial syrups since that's what the white peach resembled. Price: To compromise quality, the price point is the selling factor. Boba priced around $5-$7 is a rarity these days, but this shop does it. Just know that you're paying for lesser quality in your order. Customer Service: Wow, that needs work. The other review was not kidding about their employees and how they communicate. Customer interactions can heavily change the view of the store and will make/break the experience. With this already broken experience being topped by their employee "communication," I'm surprised they have returning customers. There are a plethora of better boba shops in the same area. I reckon you opt for those if you value strong tea flavour, better customer service, and---most importantly---a store that values cleanliness.
