We stopped by on Friday for a very last minute shopping trip for my daughter's sweet 16 dress NEXT WEEKEND! The staff was incredible. They helped us each step of the way and hyped up my beautiful daughter with each dress she tried on. We picked a gorgeous gown from their huge selection and got set up with in house alterations, with a quick turn around to have her perfect dress ready for her big day! We went way over our planned budget, but it felt worth every Penny. Expect to pay no less than $500 and alterations were $215 for our dress. *They did have a small selection of sale dresses around $200, but it was a pretty limited selection. read more

If I could give them a 1/2 star I would. I visited the Dallas location to shop for a prom dress for my daughter. We drove 3 hours to shop here. I had been looking on their website and came across some dresses with the price being $278.00. When we arrived at the store, this dress was not $278.00 but almost $550.00. I showed the salesperson the website which i was informed was a 3rd party website and it was a mistake. I talked with several employees before the manager came up to the front. He started into the same thing about how this was a mistake on the website. I said it was still their website. He never once stated he would honor this price until I told him I was giving him a bad review. I walk out of the store and he proceeds to follow me outside to talk me out of going to Terry Costas. By this time after driving and searching for days on the website, I was not about to shop there. I told him he should have done this to begin with and went to leave. He than asked if he could talk me out of leaving a bad review. This is not the way to manage any business. If you advertise it, no matter how you have your website set up, you should honor the prices. So in the future, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE. read more

Cadence was super helpful and lovely today. I tried on probably 10 dresses and she was so kind in assisting with zippers and feedback on alterations if needed. I found a dress that I love for a formal event which I was nervous about when walking in. After the dress and alterations I'm leaving at about 1k in spending but the ease in having alterations made there and her assistance made it worth it to me. Nice dress selection but very limited sizes and very high prices. I had purchased a dress here (that did not need any alterations) ages ago for a school dance and it was cheaply made but fine. This time I was shopping for a wedding dress. There is a bridal section in the back, which is apparently owned by David's Bridal. I found a dress there, but it was way too small. The sales person assured me they could add a corset lace up to the back and make it work - and do it in my super short time frame (3 weeks). I asked if swapping the brown tulle layers for a different color was feasible, and was told absolutely, but I needed to go buy the fabric up the street at Hobby Lobby. I bought the fabric and came back. The alterations person was not with David's Bridal - they were with a third company called Magic Stitch. There was a line - so I watched as the lady working pinned a wedding dress so tightly on the woman ahead of me that she could not walk or sit, which the bride nervously complained about and had re-pinned. When it was my turn it was close to closing time and the lady working just eyeballed where the lace up back needed to start on my dress, instead of having me try it on. She couldn't give me a quote at the time because she needed to consult with the seamstress about swapping the tulle layers. Nobody returned my calls and voicemails for a week. I finally just went in and the seamstress was there - and quoted me $800 to do the alterations, which was outrageous. We negotiated down to $600 given my now 2 week timeline (because they wasted the first week doing nothing), but for $600 and the $900 I paid for the dress, I could have just purchased something that fit properly from a higher quality store in the first place. Very disappointed, but since they do not accept returns and wasted an entire week not returning my voicemails I was stuck with it. I will never shop there again. read more

I was recommended this place by a coworker who always gets her prom dresses her. On the search for the perfect wedding dress, I added it to the list of places to go. At first arrival- I thought, if I can't find a dress here, I just can't find a dress.. It's overwhelming, how much inventory they have! I was immediately greeted by the sales lady, Tori. Who was extremely pushy. But, I get it they obviously work for commission. After trying several dresses. I picked one- Tori, snatched it outta my hand and ran to the register and immediately asked for my credit card. Threw the dress in a bag, and told me to come back and have it altered. So- maybe I'm crazy, but I thought I would get a brand new fresh dress that everyone hadn't tried on, got make up on & knocked beads off. Nope. Immediately, the next day. I had a feeling I made a bad choice because the dress needed several beads fixed and it had makeup on it from others trying it on. So, I phoned the store- expressed my concerns and was told it would all be fixed and the dress was prefect for my body (by Tori). Yesterday, I picked my dress up from Magic Stitch, which is a separate company that does the alterations. The alterations are great. All the missing beading is fixed. We've come here before for my homecoming dress and had amazing service before and the ladies there were super helpful and sweet, however this was not the case this time. Someone led us to a fitting room and told us i could use it to try on dresses. Nobody offered to help us at all or offered to help me zip or lace up any of the beautiful dresses I had picked out. Althea was absolutely incredible to work with . I've never been fitted for a formal dress. I was definitely feeling shy and overwhelmed about the entire process. Althea took one look at me and immediately started selecting dresses that would compliment my figure. She was so sweet and I felt completely comfortable around her. Don't go to this one. Go to the Ft. Worth store. They will actually help you and if they don't have exactly what you are looking for, unlike the Dallas location, they will help you find something that's comparable. If you need to order it online and don't have a lot of time for it to get to you by the event date, they'll actually suggest other designers that are more local and able to ship quicker. The ladies in the Dallas store are just there to collect a paycheck and maybe commission and possibly online orders don't garner commission for them, so they don't want to fully assist with the online orders. Customer service is everything in this industry. I'll also add that the dresses were dirty from everyone trying them on, zippers broke, clasps falling off, sequins and beads falling off everywhere. They are a MESS. Why do I want to buy a broke-down, dirty dress for $800, only to turn around and have to pay another $200-300 to get it fixed and cleaned? That's right. I don't. My daughter is a healthy teenager with a healthy--not fat--body. She has an athletic build and has curves. She does not wear a size 2,4, or 6. I highly, highly recommend this business. I found myself in a pickle needing a dress for a fancy occasion. The dress I ordered on-line didn't fit and was non-returnable. The two local tailor shops I visited were unable to help as I needed the dress to be ready in 5 days and they were swamped with Christmas alterations so I was feeling pretty hopeless - then I found this place. I was amazed at the number of beautiful formal and evening dresses they had to select from in the size that I needed. Not only that, but the "angel" who was helping me, Holly, let me know that they have their own in-house alterations department. Several of the dresses have been there way too long. Many look like they have been tried on 1000 times. Alterations is a TOTAL RIP OFF. Horrible, HORRIBLE experience! The dress had not even been started on the day of pick up. Many other moms & daughters came & went while we waited. All with similar experiences. The alterations were VERY sloppy and unprofessional. In NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM should you have anything altered here. NOT ONE TIME in the several hours I was there did I hear an actual sewing machine running. ALL ALTERATIONS were being hand sewn and 1/2 ass at best. The bralette inside the dress was/is tacked on in three places instead of being properly sewn. When I inquired I was told to "tape it down." I heard this said to other moms/daughters too. Our dress wasn't properly hemmed. What they do is gather it up & tack it here or there to make it shorter. The dresses do not hang right as a result. NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A $1200 dress. ALTERATIONS WERE $250!!!!! read more

Rhinestone and Sequins EVERYWHERE! everything has beading, sequins or gems somewhere on it. and dont bother asking any of the tailors to make alterations. even though you said you dont care about the cost!!! apparently EVERY DRESS was unable to be changed to remove the decorative sequins and rhinestones..really? i actually bravely peeled a few off and remarked at how difficult that was. no glue mark left or anything. practically fell off. the sales girl looked stunned when the male tailor reused to help. she told us when we left "im sorry i guess he is having a bad day because we remove rhinestones ALL the time from all diff dresses" well you lost a customer and possibly lots of extra money for alterations. read more

If you are a person of color and plus size DO NOT COME HERE!! I went to try to find a wedding dress since I'm doing a non traditional color. I found the one but by the time I came back it was out of stock. I was so sad but I was told by and employee maybe then can special order I said okay fingers cross. She brought over the manger Alexandria Graham. As soon as she saw me she was very dismissive and very rude. I specifically said if I can special order I don't mind paying upfront or extra for the dress and time frame is not issue since my wedding is not until October. She wouldbearly Let me talk and interrupted me saying no it's not possible prom season is over. Then continued to whisper to the front desk man saying we especially don't have it for plus people. I was like so shocked because I know if I was white and skinny she would have treated me a different way. She said maybe I can make a call and she if they are still making the cut. She sighed the whole time while doing this. She wanted to put no effort into this. I left my name and number on 3-25-23 I still have yet to get a follow up call even if it was just to inform me it can't be done. I contacted the reatailer from the dress which is Amarra to confirm this was true or were they in fact being racist and fatphobic. I confirmed with them and it can be special ordered through there retailers and Watchamacallit was one of them which confirms my accusations. For this reason I feel the no return policy should be lifted with customers paying a restocking fee so i contacted the Dallas store where my daughter and i purchased her prom dress, earrings and a bracelet Total: $749.00. I have left three messages for owner to return my call. Has he or she bothered to call me back? NO. I explained to the on duty store manager that we are a low income now zero income family residing in a one bedroom apartment barely affording this purchase some type of consideration to return the dress would be graciously appreciated, i was told to consider throwing a party in my home so she could wear the dress. My purpose in making this post is in hopes that all of u who read this and are considering purchasing a prom dress or any dress for any occasion that u deny this retailer ur purchase primarily for the fact we werent valued enough for even a return phone call.
