Instead, the cake looked more like a Minecraft or Ninja Turtle cake with bright neon green, flat colors, and no blending. When I brought up the design issue, the owner blamed me, saying the buttercream "needs to sit out for 4-5 hours to darken." The cake did sit out for almost 5 hours, and the color never changed. Mentioning $3.99 repeatedly after charging me hundreds of dollars made the whole interaction feel awkward and unprofessional. She also offered me a few free cookies -- but only if I used them this year because she "couldn't move the gift card into the next year due to accounting." I didn't want cookies. I wanted a partial refund, which was the only fair resolution. She immediately shut that down and said she "couldn't do that because of policy," even though she is the owner who sets the policies. There was no room for discussion, no willingness to listen, and no genuine concern for the customer experience.
