Sorry, Yelpers, but I really don't understand the good ratings here. We called in a large pizza, half BBQ Chicken and half Veggie, and it was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. It was still hot when we got home, so no complaints there. Unfortunately, the taste was very bland, and the crust had absolutely NO crispiness whatsoever. Soggy crust is a big miss for me when it comes to pizza. I even popped it into the toaster oven hoping it would help, but unfortunately, it didn't make much of a difference. I'm so disappointed. I've had South Bay Pizza many times. Last time I thought maybe a one off, I'll give them another try. Tonight Hawaiian pizza and buffalo cauliflower were awful. Cauliflower was a ball of mush, even after air frying still not edible. Payed for extra cheese and sauce as last time that was my issue. Very dry pizza. We love the pizza and pasta at South Bay Pizza. Our favorite is any of their pastas. Their chicken alfredo is our favorite, but we also love their chicken carbonara and their Italian sausage pasta. It is all really good. We picked up our order this time and it was perfect. It took minutes to heat up. We would have loved to dine there, it is so cute and clean, but we just did not have time. We also think their service is excellent. I love it when a to go order is exactly as ordered and I don't have to open everything first to check it. The staff is very nice. The prices are fair. This is my second time writing a 5 star review for South Bay Pizza, and they continue to exceed expectations! The food here is consistently amazing, and a huge reason for that is the quality of their ingredients. If you didn't already know, Louie goes above and beyond for his customers. He personally meets with local California farmers and hand selects fresh, local ingredients for his shop. You can literally taste that level of care and freshness in every single bite. I was craving pizza and this place popped up on Yelp for me so my husband and I popped in after we placed an order over the phone (their website charges a $1 processing fee). They have parking conveniently in front of their pizzeria. We walked in right as Luis took our pizza out of the oven. He was very friendly and cordial when we picked up the pizza and after we devoured the pizza! He took our empty pizza box once we were done stuffing our faces. The MVP pizza was... spectacular! The crust was crunchy, the added pepperoni had crispy edges and my husband and I love saucy pizzas and this one definitely delivered! It quickly made it to my top 3 pizzas I've ever had! Terrible! Don't Eat!!! We ordered a 16" pizza, cinnamon knots, and a salad. First off, the whole order was $50+. We showed up and there was not really a welcome, more of a look. The pizza we picked up was cold and tasted like trash. The dough was super chewy and didn't seemed to be cooked properly. The ingredients tasted old and lacked flavor. I'm not sure how they cut their pizzas, but the pizza we received looked to be "cut" by someone who was blindfolded. The lines didn't line up with our half and half pizza, and the slices were not even close to being uniform. Some of the cuts weren't cuts but more indents on the pizza. Plus there were 2 random mushroom pieces on a pizza that didn't have mushrooms. The cinnamon knots were burnt beyond being edible, and the flavoring that they put on the knots tasted terrible. The only thing good was the frosting that's probably pre made. It was so bad, we stopped eating. Didn't even open the salad as we had to trash 90% of the order. Redondo also has a lot of banger spots. The pizza here is amazing too. The pepperoni pizza with chicken is what I got and it was spectacular. Had just the right amount of cheese. What's funny was I placed this order on uber and I came to pick it up. But then a dude came and just gave the pizza to me without even asking or seeing me for the order confirmation. Bro maybe had a tracker or something lol. But it sounds dangerous, some people can fake some orders and get free food and that's messed up for the business and the customers. The crust is thin, flavorful, and delicious--I really enjoyed it. I did wait about 45 minutes for my pizza, but there was only one person working and he was clearly doing his best. South Bay Pizza is unbelievably good! Truly the biggest hidden gem of the South Bay, even if it wasn't for their amazing tasting pizzas & salads, their service is next level! I went in and was a little disappointed initially to find out they didn't have slices (since I wanted to try a few options for their specialty pizzas), but every pizza seems to be pretty great here. On the service side, the gentlemen working there heard us talking about how it's our first time and we wanted to try some slices, but they didn't have them, so he gave us a free upgrade on the pizza size, we didn't know until we picked it up when it was ready and he told us he wanted us to have leftovers and a good experience. The vibe is pretty cool, but there's not much seating except for two small tables outside with 2 seats each. It also has a nice little parking lot, so that was a pleasant surprise.
