Behind--the-scenes pizza makers busy working ...
    Linda C.

My husband and I had an EXCELLENT experience at Pedone's in Redondo Beach this evening. My order was taken by Grace, who was very welcoming and friendly. We had shared a sausage and mushroom pizza which was served piping hot and delicious. The amount of toppings was perfect and so flavorful. Even the crust had a wonderful crunch to it and very tasty. I watched the pizza makers working 'behind the scenes' and they were non-stop busy creating all types of pizzas, sandwiches and salads. I believe one other employee at the counter was Natalie (?) who was also very pleasant. Spotless restaurant with high top tables and a tv to catch up on the latest. Very good experience. We'll be back!

Service was friendly. The pepperoni pizza was really greasy but tasty. It hit the spot. It was similar to my experiences while living in NY. It's a small shop in the riviera village. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Bottom line: I would go back if I was in the area and felt like pizza. I wouldn't make a special trip here though.

    BBQ chicken pizza

I came to this place after a recommendation from a family member. It's small, with a good variety of items to choose from. I got the BBQ pizza and wings, the pizza is thin and well cooked, the tangy flavor of the bbq sauce gives a great balance to the chicken and onions, the wings were dried and nothing to get excited, overall the friendly service and great pizza made my experience a good one. If you are in the area come check them out. Be ready for a very casual setting and maybe take slice down to the beach and enjoy it while watching the waves.

    Single slice of cheese

Been wanting to try this place for years as it's often busy, while it was good it wasn't anything impressive. Definitely reminds me more of a family joint that would be nostalgic but the pizza itself was pretty standard. The dough is quite thin so it was a little difficult to pick up and the pizza a bit greasy. I thought it was yummy but honestly didn't taste of too much. The dough, sauce and cheese didn't have any noticeable flavor, and their ranch also was thinner. It took awhile for them to make the single slices and it wasn't too busy when we went. Overall it was alright but I would probably choose a different pizza spot in the future.

This is my son's favorite spot to come on the weekends. We come OFTEN for a slice. They have a lunch special for about $10. Two slices and a soda. The flavor is always spot on as well. The only ding on my review is the customer service. It's not horrible but it's not great either.

This neighborhood really needed a good grocery store, and they have everything: fresh meat, drinks, snacks, fruits just like a full local grocery. The staff was really nice and laid-back, though the only downside is that parking is super limited and intersection it's tough to get in and out since it's near a small with a red light. Still, I'm really glad it's there, and I want to give a big shout-out to the local folks to support this place. The prices are really reasonable, and we need to keep these local businesses thriving. they're the heart of the community. I gave them five stars. The Reuben with corned beef and the Reuben with pastrami. Both plates come with your choice of a salad and pickles. I recommend the potato salad; it's my culinary guilty pleasure. Truthfully, I don't get that much a smoky taste from the pastrami, but it's still delicious. That corned beef is so wonderful, it's so tender and falls apart so easily upon a bite. Their soda menu is a very lowkey, unsung hero. I've tried soda brands you don't typically see in grocery stores. Their ginger ale hits the spot without fail each time. I think one drawback is that this place doesn't allow adjustments. I've personally never asked for any, but I can see how other customers might find that off-putting. I typically do a pick-up order vs. dining in, but when I do enjoy the sandwich in the restaurant - the service is super quick and cordial. The interior of the place itself isn't exactly upscale, but it's also more polished than a standard diner. TONS of seating inside and a few tables outside if you want to enjoy your food with some fresh air. Walking up to the restaurant, I noticed there were many outdoor patio tables lining the sidewalk. The deli counter is the first thing you see when you walk in, but there's a huge indoor dining area. The sign states to seat yourself, so as soon as I seated myself, staff provided me with a menu. I ordered a coffee and hot pastrami sandwich on rye bread which comes with a choice of salad. I chose the cucumber salad. The pastrami sandwich was huge. It was packed with a lot of high quality, tender pastrami meat. The plate also comes with a side of pickles, so yes, I was full afterwards. My coffee cup was always filled, tasted good, and hot. The two staff that were waiting on all the tables were friendly and efficient. There was never a moment I felt neglected. It's prefect for both small and large groups. Parking: Free, shared strip mall. Crowded, small parking spaces.

I came in knowing that I was looking for San Antonio Wineries Marsala, and did find some San Antonio wines on the vast wall of wine, but I couldn't find the Marsala and asked at the counter if they carry "semi sweet Marsala," (there's a whole name thing with this, but you got to know, as I was educated by one of the other wine shops I had visited!). I was pointed to the cooking section and told they had two brands: Tony's and San Antonio. Without really knowing that I knew what I needed that I had been unable to find elsewhere, they met my goal of finding this very specific item. Meanwhile, though not my first visit, but a long time since my last, I couldn't help but notice how large the space is, and how much they have to offer. Only half of the space is a store. In the back, they have a full bakery of popular Italian treats. Bombolinos and cookies and even basque cheesecake! Then they have sandwiches and other homemade meals that you can purchase by the pound. And to top off the experience, you don't have to wait to get home - there's a fountain for beverages and you can eat your deliciousness in their large dining area. I personally will be back for a lunch visit, at some point. For now, I'm going to be using that Marsala wine to attempt duplication of a nearby restaurant's chicken Marsala recipe!
