The vibe inside was great and the music made the atmosphere really enjoyable while I sat back and enjoyed my meal. My server Zaid was amazing. She was very attentive, sweet, and helpful throughout my visit. She checked in at the right times and made sure everything was going well, which made the experience even better. I ended up having a big lunch and everything was very satisfying. I've also heard they're known for their wings. They can take about 20-30 minutes since they're made fresh, but people say they're absolutely worth the wait. Came here for a meal this time. Got the Korean fried chicken and it was worth the hype! The smallest order is 10 pieces. It's juicy and crunchy. I will have meal for later. The walnuts old fashioned was good. Moth feel was a little thin, but my friends really liked the "forbidden fruit" and enjoyed it. The chicken katsu was solid. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised with this cute little Korean food gem in Navy yard! We had to try the spicy chicken wings, and the fried chicken sandwich which were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! It is not as spicy as you think so FYI. I think the highlights for me were the beef bulgogi and the beef lo mein along with the wings. The Bulgogi is a must have. It comes in a sizzling, hot pot with crispied rice and gochujang sauce. We also tried the chicken teriyaki platter and it was very saucy. The ambiance is laid-back and they do have some refreshing cocktails. Also, the prices are really good. I went in during a random day of the week just to get out the house. They still had some Valentine's Day items on the menu so I figured I'd try at least one item that may not be available. Our server Isaac was incredible. I felt bad because he was also the host but he was running around taking care of everything with a smile on his face. He was very warm, friendly and an absolute joy. I'll never turn down a pork belly bao bun so I had to order. But I was also interested in their Korean fried chicken. The Pork buns were okay as well as the chicken. The other people in my party had fried rice and ramen. They thoroughly enjoyed the ramen but I was told the fried rice was pretty average. I ended up getting the French Kiss Vday cocktail which was gin, pink lemonade, glitter and champagne. I did the drink was a little expensive for what it was but it was okay. Great food, terrible service. If I'm going to order again it would be online. Maybe it's just discrimination, but it was an almost completely empty restaurant and my gf and I were barely acknowledged. They straight up forgot one of our orders and tried to say it was because it was still cooking. Took an extra 20 minutes AFTER both the appetizers and a dish were completely eaten. One of the waitresses was legit staring at us from across the room, and she went and hid when she was caught looking over. The food is great! I was in need of soup the other night and searched Yelp! for any restaurants in walking distance that had noodle soups. When Americans think of noodle soups their thoughts immediately go to pho. But too many people overlook ramen because when they hear the word, they immediately think of college dorm cup-o-noodles. There is no similarity. Good ramen has tender, almost al dente, fresh made noodles, tender proteins (like juicy chicken, seafood, or pork), bok choy, soft boiled egg, tofu, and other ingredients. I had never heard of Momo so I took the two block walk to check it out. The place has a pleasant bar vibe and plenty of tables for sit-down dining. I was dining solo so decided to grab a bar seat, have a draft of a local DC IPA, and watch a soccer game. The bar tender was quick to take my order of Spicy Miso Ramen plus a side of Kimchi and I enjoyed the casual company of bar diners. The restaurant was lightly populated when I got there at 6:00 on a Friday night, but by the time I left at 7:15, the place was buzzing with people. The ramen was very good, I would have given it an excellent if the egg hadn't been hard boiled instead of soft boiled. The Kimchi was exceptional though. HOWEVER- We ordered soy garlic chicken breast in their smallest quantity and it never got delivered to us. All of our food came except that and we waited for like 20 minutes for the food. We wanted to cancel because we were done and full already, but the waiter said we can't do that because it's being made. After sitting at the bar, I was promptly greeted by my bartender/server who wasted no time in grabbing me a cold pint of beer for me. Although the restaurant is known for it's 'award-winning Korean fried chicken', I decided to go the more tradition route with a Bulgogi Bibimbap. For about 18 bucks, I thought the bowl came with a generous amount of food, and the food was above average compared to other bibimbaps that I've had. But the best part of the MOMO experience was the staff person, Que. from greeting me at the door to servicing me at the table to a most pleasant conversation (the restaurant was quiet as it was 3pm), Que added so very much to my experience. Warm, friendly, sincerely looking to make me happy - and truly loyal to her place. She is the epitome of what a service business wants in an employee and representative, and ensured I left with a smile. Momo's is hands down one of my favorite spots. The vibe is super modern and lively, with décor that feels trendy but still really comfortable. I enjoyed my time at this venue. It was recommended by my son-in-law and he is a great Foodie. He raved about the Korean chicken and he ordered us a half and half selection. It was a nice spicy Korean glaze and a soy garlic glaze. I was also very pleased to see the selection of noodle entrees. The waiter and staff was friendly and personable. It's a nice cozy atmosphere. There's a full bar to one side of the restaurant. There's clean single stall restrooms. The portions are a decent size. The quality of each of our entrees were excellent. Wonderful staff serving very well cooked chicken. Some of the best textures on Korean fried chicken I've had recently. Unfortunately, the flavors were just not punchy enough for me, the soy garlic wasn't that garlicky or soy, and the spicy wasn't spicy, in fact it was easy to mix the two up. I thought we could make up the flavors with the boom boom sauce, but that was disappointing too. I think i'm missing a lot of the Korean heat here, and it's maybe just because I'm used to Annandale and it's a different demographic. Otherwise, the restaurant is nice and casual, and the staff very friendly and attentive even when they are busy. I love when out of town and stumble unto a delicious spot to eat. This is like an asian/korean inspired restaurant that seems to specialize in chicken. when entering I was greeted promptly and able to choose my own place to sit. The inside is clean and modern and has a very nice bar. Since they are first and foremost a chicken place I went with the Half and Half (Soy Ginger and Spicy) Wings and Beer Happy Hour Special and the Spicy Pork Bibimbap. The beer Ichiban I ordered came out in a cold mug which I always enjoy. The wings were next and they were amazing and likely one of the beat wings I have enjoyed. I am a sucker for asian food so the flavors were perfect for me and the wings were just perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and falling off the bone on the inside. The wings were perfectly coated in the sauces and not soggy or too saucy. The bibimbap was a standard yet perfectly executed bibimbap with a perfectly fried egg on top and delicious gochujang sauce on the side. I wasn't expecting to be able to eat anything here based on the name of the restaurant and the fact that I'm vegan, but upon looking at the menu, they had a couple of Bibimbap and platter options using tofu (teriyaki tofu or gluten-free tofu) that I could get. I went with the Bibimbap without the egg to make it vegan, and it was delicious! I love that they used a little toasted sesame oil in the dish to give it some extra fragrance and flavor. My non-vegan friends got non-vegan dishes and enjoyed them, too. It was quiet when we were there - a little too early for most people to eat dinner, so service was quick and attentive. I ordered some chicken sandwich sliders to go, and just now had the chance to try them out. The smart way to order would have been to do it online, because the employee behind the counter was not too empathetic about the fact that I wasn't exactly parked legally. The interior is really pretty vintage with a bunch of Beatles albums on the wall. The bar area is pretty minimal, so it has a very clean feel to it. The fried chicken is really just chicken that is pretty well fried, but it overall is just pre-standard. There wasn't anything about the chicken that really stood out to me. The soy garlic chicken was a bit too salty. I will admit, though that the drumsticks are huge. It makes me wonder what kind of hormone was injected in the chicken that resulted in such large chicken drumsticks. The menu said that the chicken would take about 30 minutes to cook but I believe we got it in about 15 minutes. The extra large chicken drumsticks had 15 drumsticks and a small cole slaw in the middle; I recommend getting a side of rice to cut the saltiness of the chicken. Overall, I think that this is a good place to get fried chicken if you are really hungry. This wasn't the best fried chicken that I ever had but it is passable. read more

This place has been declining recently. While the food quality is still good and I dig the vibe of the place, consistency and service have become major issues. Living nearby, I usually order takeout because the service has always been slow. I can typically order, pick up my food, and be home faster than dining in. However, lately, my takeout orders have been frequently incorrect. When I bring this up, they offer free items or discounts for next time, but there's no clear way to redeem these offers, and they don't provide the name of the person making them. It feels insincere. A recent experience pushed me to finally write this review. A few weeks ago, I brought a friend here since it's nearby, but the visit was awful. Here's how it went: - 45 minutes to receive our first drink. - 1 hour for cheese wontons. - 1 hour, 15 minutes for water. - 1.5-1.75 hours for a 20-piece chicken wing. We repeatedly raised concerns with the servers, who would say things like, "Oh, that hasn't come out yet? I'll check," but never followed up. The excuses we heard were unconvincing: - "We're busy." This is a weak argument. There were only 3-4 tables occupied at any time, and few takeout orders coming in. We even saw other tables arrive, eat, and leave before we got our food. When our dishes finally arrived, they were piping hot, meaning they hadn't been sitting in the kitchen--they just weren't being prepared promptly. - "Our CEO is here." This was true; we were seated next to the CEO, who was being attended to by the manager, Daniel. While Daniel walked past our table multiple times, he ignored our attempts to get his attention. He later claimed he didn't see us, which was untrue as he looked directly at us several times. Frankly, having your boss in-house should improve service, not make it worse. -"Let me know next time, and I'll discount your food." At least I now know who to talk to, but this felt like another hollow gesture. It took nearly two hours just to speak to the manager after repeated attempts, what will happen next time? The only positive aspect, besides the food itself, was the bartender. She eventually went out of her way to check on us and even brought us water--something the servers failed to do for over an hour. In the end, I can't recommend this place. If you're craving similar food, go the extra distance to Bonchon on the other side of South Capitol. Their food quality is comparable, but the service--ironically, from a large chain--is much better. Bonchon was here long before this place opened and, at this rate, will still be thriving long after this restaurant shutters its doors. read more

Came here during the Cherry Blossom Kite Festival so totally understand the long wait. Overall the service was good but the food was pretty average. We ordered the Miso Ramen, BBQ Platter with Bulgogi, and 20 pieces of the Korean fried chicken. Highlight was the chicken which was crispy and well dressed with soy garlic. Chicken was a little dry but wasn't bad. Would not recommend the ramen, they didn't use enough miso paste and the egg was basically hard boiled. Not a fan if I can make a ramen better myself at home. If you need a quick spot to eat with good service this would be the place but wouldn't recommend if you are trying to experience delicious/unique food. read more

Just like all of the other reviews have commented; their services are subpar to say the least and the management definitely needs to consider hiring new servers. Tonight, when my family went there, there were no more table for four, the only waitress there who came up and greeted us would not let us to have the bigger the table when the restaurant was half empty. Instead, she suggested to us that we were free to leave if we did not want to sit at the bar seats. I have never come across a restaurant that would refuse customers for that reason and have such rude attitude to the customers. Given that it was getting late and that's the only restaurant around, we decided to stay for dinner. The food was nothing special and there was no service whatsoever during the whole meal. These wings are my favorite in the city. They are SO flavorful, and they've become our default meal for 'just got back from the airport and need something satisfying and fast'. They're huge (often 3" wings), and super crispy. Even good the next day! We've been to the brick and mortar once too, which was clean and nice, and had fast service there too, just found parking to be a bit tricky. read more

We had a nice dinner here last weekend with a friend and her two young children. My spicy pork platter provided more than enough food for dinner, and was quite tasty. Nancy claimed to find the bulgogi banh mi sandwich too spicy, even apart from the large slices of jalapeno sitting along the edge, so I was looking forward to finishing leftovers for lunch the next day, but she managed to eat it herself, so I am assuming it must have been delicious. We both liked the fried momo dumplings Our friend assumed that her children would eat the cheese wontons (like her, they are vegetarian), but it was not to their taste. They filled up on french fries. Our friend is gluten free as well as vegetarian, and the staff was very careful to make sure she could eat her bibimbap -- which she liked.
