I have had a "foodie" relationship with this location for over 45 years. I have seen its growth since living down the street to moving out of momma's house to Gardena, then Inglewood, then Harbor City, then Carson before retiring to Las Vegas. Now that I live in Las Vegas, I always make a trip to visit them for my BBQ "fix" when I go to Los Angeles. Still good as it was in the beginning, but the tips of the ribs were a little tough from what I was accustomed too. My only issue is emotional and not so much their fault. Seeing the increase in cost over the years should be understandable, but it still stings. My dinner visit for April 2026 was $34.95. Hopefully, my return next year won't break the bank. read more

My husband went to order and pick up lunch today, 6/3/26. He order beef ribs dinner with macaroni salad and rib tip sandwich with bake beans. The lady at the window was distracted and had a bad attitude which lead her to get our order incorrect. She charged for both items but when he got home we had 2 rib tip sandwiches. He called and explained the order was incorrect, he went back and took one of the rib tips back. Now I am an executive Chef and I have worked in several kitchens for many years just to verify I know foodservice rules. My question to him was why would you take it back? We opened it. He tells me watch this. He went back with the incorrect plate and explains the order mix up then gives them the plate, no one asked if he touched the food, they took the plate opened it and took the food out and put it in a new container. JUST LIKE THAT!! WTF??? UNHEARD OF IN THIS POST COVID WORLD!! The replacement of the correct beef rib plate was flavorless, tasteless, and both meals were tough meat...No Bueno!! For the price I expected tender tastefulness which I have received before this visit. Consistent food quality and better customer service would be expected for the price. 2 out of 10, I would not recommend but no one really cares I feel like money has been wasted not even an apology for the initial mix up, but what did I expect when they recycle open food !!! read more

I've been eating here for around 10 years. Haven't been consistent in the last 2 years. The price has gone up ridiculously high with a five piece rib dinner at 30.00. I've been going here for easily 20 years or more. I was a fan of the rib tips. There is no dine in option, so I always called in my order within 10 mins of arrival, so it's ready when I pull up. This time, I called back to back and there was no answer. When I arrived, they weren't crowded. There wasn't even a line, so I guess they were just ignoring the phone. I got a rib tip dinner with potato salad and baked beans, a mix of medium sauce on the meat, and a side of mild sauce. I requested that they don't put the ends or hard pieces of rib tips in my plate. The taste and quality is not the same as it has been for years. Which is what would make me crave it and visit. They've changed the sauce recipe, or maybe it was a bad day/batch, but I wasn't happy with it. The best Rib Tips I've had in a long time I'm glad I decided to get the lunch at 7:45pm it was a lot about 10-12 big fat Rib Tips and a side I got macaroni salad for my side it was good. the meat was seasoned well and tender I get my sauce on the side because sometimes I feel like sauce and sometimes I don't I don't know till I start eating lol (weird I know) but I end up using the sauce wishing I had more. After a great night at COSM stop by Mom's barbecue had to barbecue chicken taste so good. I wanted to drive an hour the next day to get some more! You can taste the time that it takes to slow cook the meat and the great combination of seasonings put together to make a great bbq sauce! We tried this place out for lunch on an overcast Tuesday. Wanted something with a little density to it so...BBQ: 1. Four piece chicken dinner plate with potato salad and mac salad - spicy sauce 2. Three meat combo dinner - links, rib tips and pork ribs - with coleslaw and BBQ beans - spicy sauce 3. Peach cobbler And both plates were served with two slices of wheat bread The meats, the most critical components, were good. Adequately smoked, and the spicy BBQ sauce had a nice heat to it. Kinda had a full mouth feel to the sensation. Think the rib tips were our favorite. They had an addicting crust on the ends. The bbq beans were the best side, mostly because they are cooked in a different sauce than the meats'. So the variety was helpful. We didn't really like the slaw. Tasted like the cabbage was pickled so it gave the side a weirdly bitter finish. The cobbler was okay. It was not made in-house, to our disappointment. But the premade supplier wasn't terrible. And I don't know if there is a divide in this area... but we prefer that classic, white Wonderbread to go with our BBQ. Wheat ain't it. But it'll do. Surprisingly I dont come here more often. Though the BBQ is great! And that iconic sign (to me) has been catching my attention since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Yet nowadays, I duck to keep from bumping into clouds. For myself, the simplest straightforward go-to order would be a Lunch Combination. Which, despite the name, seems to be available at any hour of the day. Even late at night. There's 3 different ones to choose from. Each comes with a single side and two slices of really soft white sandwich bread. Oh, the joy... Place is to-go only. And the only seating while waiting would be your car. Though most people just kind of stand around. Lot is somewhat small and shared with the neighboring liquor store. But since both are to-go spots, parking has never been an issue. Orders don't take long either. Less than 10 minutes, and you're on your way. Rarely ever a crowd either. People behind the scenes here as well have been very pleasant. As in, they have good personalities. Which is my way of saying they seem to actually care about their customers. Our order was incorrect and kind of expensive. Ribs were over done or left over from another day. Baked beans were just regular pork and beans out of the can. Potato salad had no flavor and potatoes still hard. We ordered a dinner which should have been 4 ribs but when we got back to the hotel is was only 3.
