I'm an out of state traveler. In my 80's. High risk, so I continue to wear it. I came in @2:00 pm Sunday, wearing my mask. I was completely ignored by 5 waiting staff. After 7 minutes I stopped on and asked to be seated. "Sit anywhere. " I found an empty table. At 20 after I finally got a menu & was offered water. 30 minutes of being in there, being completely ignored I got up with menu and ordered from "my" waitress at the kitchen opening. It's hard to enjoy the food when mad from terrible service. Cherry pie with ice cream delivered first. 37 minutes from entering. Fish burger arrived 42 minutes after entering the restaurant. The fish "burger" was good. Ok. Dessert:The pie dough/crust was way under cooked and doughy. The by now, the pie is swimming in melted ice cream, served with a fork. Go figure! Old fashioned family-owned eatery in downtown. I've eaten here twice while traveling through on a motorcycle. Chicken fried steak was great and their bacon cheese burger was tasty with real home cut French fries. Salads were fresh and also tasty. It's a NO for me and mine. Met up with some friends for breakfast here and we were the only party in the restaurant. Food was brought out at all different times. Which is ok, because they brought the kids their food first. After everyone got their plates the waitress never came back. Never checked on drinks, the food or brought us the bill. Our friend had to get up and go ask to pay. My SO ordered the biscuit and Gravy and he said it wasn't close to the best he's ever had. Just fair. He had previously tried the country fried steak before and didn't care for it. I ordered a breakfast plate that came with this sausage in my photo. Delicious, home style cooking with a cozy atmosphere! Friendly staff too. We stopped here for lunch on Easter Sunday after a weekend camping near Goblin Valley. Eating gluten free, I basically had one option: the chef salad. It was delicious and would have been improved by a hard-boiled egg. My husband ordered the daily special (prime rib hot sandwich with mashed potatoes). Everything tasted great and was served quickly. When I was paying, the cute gal at the counter asked if we liked carrot cake and gave me the rest of what they had--free of charge. I have heard of this place from friends who visited Utah. Based on my research, they are world famous. We walked in on a random Wednesday afternoon for lunch and it was amazing. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes- this was 10/10. The salmon was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and warm. The mashed potatoes had a homemade gravy on top that was probably the best gravy I've ever had. My partner ordered the fish and chips (fries)- he said the fish was 8/10 and the fries was 6/10. In my opinion, the fries was a 4/10 at best. It was soggy and unseasoned. The service was 9/10. Our waitress was very attentive and welcoming. There's a lot to like about Mom's Cafe. Small town. Old, historic building. Diner menu. Waitresses (not servers, mind you) in the old school waitress attire. Locals filling up the booths. Yep, there are lots of great ingredients at play here which hit all the right buttons for me. So naturally I'm going to cut them some slack and adjust my expectations. Waitress a little bit surly? Shoot, there aren't any crisp white linens around and a sommelier on staff so I don't expect that level of professionalism. There's a wall in the back with photos taped up of people standing around dead things. Ambiance, baby. I'm cutting some slack when it comes to the food as well. I read a bit about the fish and chips so we decided to split an order. The chips were nice, and the fish nuggets were just fine as well. I'd order differently next time, but I wasn't put off by the meal either. Diner fare. Canned green beans. It's what I expected, it's what I got. What pushed things above the middle of the road for me was the pie. As a pie fiend I had to try the blueberry offering. Blueberry sour cream. Um, yes please. There was a long letter on the wall from Ashley Judd praising the pie, but I didn't base my decision on Ms. Judd's recommendation. Had it been Keri Russell, I would have been forced to order that pie. And not because she played a pie maker in Waitress. More because I'm powerless to Ms. Russell. I digress. The pie was a silky and sinful delight. It may not have had hand-picked blueberries, but it was cafe perfection. A thin, moist crust, a layer of creamy white indulgence, a generous portion of dark blueberry fruit mix, and a massive dollop of cream on top. Sans pie it's still a nice place to pop in, but I'd definitely save room for a slice to turn the small town stop into an experience. Prices are kinda high-ish for what you're getting, but in the grand scheme it's worth the extra dough to try Mom's over one of those just off the freeway fast food stops. read more

Although it's best in town, my biscuits were burnt, the gravy gelatinous, and although decaf is on the menu, they haven't served it in a few years. The scone was delish and our waitress was super sweet! Bathroom is just a scrunchy one seater, but a bathroom none the less. I was on my way from Las Vegas to Green River, Utah, and this was a convenient stop for dinner. It's a homey small town diner with good, hearty, affordable food. My husband and I both got the special, which was a hot hamburger over stuffing. It came with a choice soup or salad bar, potato, and a scone. It was a massive amount of food. Coming from San Diego, I've grown accustomed to small portions and high prices. This place was exactly the opposite, and I loved it. The food wasn't anything special, but I didn't expect it to be. This is an unassuming joint with food to match. It's a place to be satisfied but not impressed, which is refreshing when you're on the road. The one thing I will say is that the "scones" (aka fry bread) were overly hyped. The were greasy and I didn't see the appeal of the honey butter. Scones are supposedly a Utah specialty. So, go ahead and try them if you want. I had almost identical ones as a restaurant in Western ND, so I'm not sure how unique they are. Overall, I highly recommend a stop here if you're passing through. Also, try the Utah salt. They have some on all of the tables and some for sale at the register if you really like it. read more

There is parking on the street as well as in the back of the building. There is an entrance at the front along the street as well as in the back. The interior is basic and clean. They have a front room and back room with seating. The food was priced well and our food came out as ordered. My husband has gluten allergies and he was happy to find that they had a gluten-free bun.
