I love this place. When I'm in Pahrump, I try to stop by and support a fine, local establishment. The service is always great and right on top of everything I need. Their menu has a ton of great options. On this visit, I ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich with fries and a slice of carrot cake. The chicken fried chicken was nice and crispy and the gravy was delicious. The fries were also crispy and cooked to perfection. The carrot cake was excellent, the definition of homemade. The cream cheese frosting was on point and the cake was terrific. Overall, this was a great experience as usual and I'll definitely be back the next time I am in Pahrump. read more

I needed to finish my draft, so here goes: The last time we came in, Lily started things off and put a smile on our faces. She is fun, professional and attentive and made our dining experience great. The restaurant was full with people waiting and our food came so fast I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything I have tried from the chicken fried steak for breakfast to the smothered beef sanwich with gravy has been delicious. My wife and I came in today with her father for Father's Day. The place is packed and as usual, we weren't waiting long before we were seated. Amanda took care of us today and she is fun, professional and attentive too. I've eaten here a few times and the diner itself is quite rustic and has nice decor. The food- well they have a sign that says just like your mom cooked it. It's ok. But the service is so so. Most of the time the wait staff acts indifferent to you. They hang out in the kitchen area and don't come back to see if everything is ok. This is a great diner for a homey breakfast and a real small town experience. The staff are always welcoming and the no matter how busy they may be you will not run out of coffee or your favorite drink. The Texas Benedict is my favorite. This review is mainly for one of the busser/server. Long haired young guy. I didnt get his name. But just in case management reads yelp reviews this is to commend him for being very attentive and on top of things. From the moment we sat down he was never not doing anything. Not a really smiley face but very polite and keeps walking around the restaurant with purpose. And when he's not doing that, he looks up and look around to see if anybody needs help. Seen him refilled coffee and drinks before anybody would even notice that some people need it. The older lady servers have regulars and i get it that they are nicer to the regular customers but it would be nice to be treated fairly walking into a restaurant. read more

I decided to take my kids on a mini road trip to Pahrump. We wanted to eat in a Diner, Yelp took us to "Mom's Diner.". The Diner is the size of my kitchen and living room combined, it isn't too big and it was packed when we got there, there was about a 5-10 minute wait time to seat ourselves. My eldest daughter found a silver hair strand in her drink and I found a couple brunette hair strands on my younger daughters bacon, eggs and hash brown plate. Amanda, our server didn't seem engaged with my table. Although, she was friendlier with other tables. She didn't even check on us if we needed anything else. However, Scott was friendly. He walked around offering coffee with a smile. Food and service were mediocre and run-of-the-mill, my mom cooks better. Great little down-home spot. It sure feels like the kind of place that somebody would call you hon, or sweetie when you walk in, but I don't remember anyone doing that. Instead they just make classic American food. Not fancy, but delicious. The clam chowder is decent here, and every sandwich I've had has been good. Breakfast is also decent here although I wouldn't say it's anything amazing. But the BLT was something else: I swear it had eight or so slices of bacon on it the other day. Absolutely perfect! Passing through town on our way to Death Valley NP and stopped in on a Monday morning. The place was hopping with a good sized crowd but we were still able to get seated right away. We ordered a bacon and sausage omelette, wheat toast, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. The food came out hot, fresh, and tasty. I'm picky with my biscuits and gravy and was pleasantly surprised with how good they were. The only minor complaint we had was the coffee...it was meh. read more

Food was just OK. I ordered a cheeseburger, meat was good, bun was dry and not warmed. Fries were very good. Side salad was basically lettuce, carrot, and dressing. My wife ordered the salmon special. They fried it, amazingly. It had been frozen, was not fresh, and a bit fishy. The veggies were frozen. The mashed potatoes were very good, made from real potatoes. Dessert was a thick and very tasty slice of cherry pie, which we split. Very good. We will try the restaurant again, probably for breakfast. Went to this diner with a group of female friends and we were treated very badly . The staff upon seeing our arriving was extremely rude and very disrespectful. They seated the 6 of us to a very small table for four and just added two other chairs. There was a couple at a table next to our table and offered to move to a booth but the waitress said in not so nice voice NO to them. Insisting that we sit at this small table. Then we asked if we could move part of our party to the booth and they said yes another couple offered their table to us and they also said NO to them. After part of our group moved to the booth they then turned around and refused to offer us service and asked us to leave. Not too nicely all the customers were staring in shock at the manager who was being so very rude to six ethnic girls. I'm a chef myself and has been in the hospitality industry for well over nine years and to receive such ill customer service not once but numerous times on different visits is very unacceptable. My family has been eating at this restaurant long before COVID-19 and even then we experienced foul customer service. Our last visit was this morning, when once again we encountered the same racism, foul, inappropriate service from Mom's Diner employees. We had a large party and other parties offered there tables so we can all sit together, but these offers were rudely disregard by Mom's Diner employees. My family and I have been going to mom's diner for many years, since 2017, and have become very well known customers. Normally service is awesome and super quick and the staff are very respectful. Today my family and I went in for breakfast and met a couple who couldn't sit in a booth due to knee surgery, so my father offered to switch from the booth to a table (where we were sitting) and they said they would appreciate that. When my dad offered, Chumly (the guy who works the register) came blowing over to my father yelling, shaking his head and aggressive body posture, accusing him of trying to "hustle" the couple for their seat. My family and I left IMMEDIATELY, we didn't even get to order our food. We went to pay for our drinks but he insisted that we didn't, the guy just wanted us gone. We are never setting foot back into Moms Diner ever again. read more

The main issue came from a blonde haired man, possibly the owner, attitude towards service dogs. A man in a wheelchair came in with 4 friends and sat at a back table. Within seconds the blonde guy came over and in a stern mean tone told the dog owner how the dog, who was quietly laying g down next to the wheelchair, he must stay under the table and not be heard or seen. His tone and demeanor was negative and ugly towards the man in the wheel chair - bad enough as an observer I felt bad. While we were in the parking lot lot a women got out next to us with a small dog in her shoulder bag. They went in and within 60 seconds came out and said the blonde guy was very rude to them about the dog. Obviously "Moms Diner" is NOT service dog friendly. In response to their attitude, this was my last visit ever.. Service dogs may, by law, lay down next to a wheelchair and are not required to be under the table. Shame on Mom's!!! We've been here one other time for breakfast & the food was pretty good, which is why we came back but unfortunately did not satisfy this time. Order: - Pork cutlet w/ mashed potatoes- the cutlet was so over cooked I could have thrown it at someone and could have caused serious damage. The gravy was over thickened and like paste which was all over the whole meal. The mashed potatoes were watery & gritty. The whole meal was way under seasoned, made me feel like it was a special diet hospital food with no salt or seasoning! - Patty melt w/ fries - paying for the 1/2 lb & did not receiving anything close, NO seasoning AGAIN not even on the burger itself, the waffle fries tasted like cardboard. - Bacon cheese burger w/ fries - once again, ordered a 1/2 lb & didn't receive anything close to it. This patty was seasoned a bit more, maybe due to the extra bacon ordered? The fries were okay, but nothing special. Overall, would we go back for lunch or dinner?
