I had breakfast, the chili verde is favorable. The rest is Luke warm run of the mill. Service is lousy! Silverware, coffee cup, and a plate all were dirty from before. You can't get your drinks refilled without asking...if you get them at all. (My coffee never came until we asked, then the cup had egg stuck to the side of it.) The portions are small, only made look bigger by using smaller plates. The owner makes it sound like the "kids" he has working there are at fault...for his poor leadership. Had breakfast with the fam today and this was my first time dining here. The menu is very basic and straight forward. Our server was new and very meek. Like you could barely hear her when she talked. The orders came out and were wrong. Someone at the table wanted an omelet hold the hash browns and it came with a ton of hash browns, someone else was missing sausage, toast finally made its way to the table. The gravy didn't blow me away but it was good. The decor is unique as was the clientele. Seems like a place with mostly regulars, and mostly older folks. I hope the new owner see this! Your new cook is awful. Service is awful which is weird since some of the staff worked with the old owners. I was served weak coffee and offered no cream or sugar. I ordered eggs bacon toast and hash browns. All cold and under cooked except the toast which never came. Not offered any catsup or hot sauce and couldn't get a servers attention to ask for any. The vibe from the last owners is gone which made this place a busy neighborhood go to spot. Sincerely focus on food service and vibe or you won't make it. Big hearty breakfast and lunch classics. Not a ton of surprises here, but if you are looking for a mom and pop breakfast shop in the area with big portions and super friendly service, I think this is your spot. The wait staff is top tier- friendly and attentive and definitely will add to your experience. I wasn't in love with the food, but you could certainly do worse. It's pretty standard and lacks the kind of menu surprises or special "from scratch"flavors that could really make a place like this stand out. All just sort of okay. Inside is a sort of Frankenstein's monster of a restaurant.- with bits sewn together from former places. The floor tile changes color midway through the place and the tables and chairs look like they might have been put together from a restaurant close out auction. Lots of funky decorative stuff on the walls. Let's just call it all garage sale chic. It's charming in its way and contributes to the low key mom and pop vibe of the place. Update Went back for a simple quick breakfast and wow they were fast. The meal was hot and tasty. 3 eggs, links toast and hasbrowns. The hash was good with crunchy edges not soggy. Eggs cooked to perfection with a nice creamy yolk. So quality still stands with these guys. read more

Me and my husband went there for breakfast for the first time to try something new. I ordered the eggs, hash browns, and toast and my husband ordered the Dad's breakfast. When the food came out it smelled horrible. The eggs were not cooked as ordered, in fact they were under cooked. I tried the hash browns and couldn't bring myself to swallow them. Worst breakfast ever. We ended up only eating the toast. I gave the 2 stars because the server gave excellent service and was very friendly. We won't be going back though. read more

Stopped here for breakfast on Memorial Day. I can say there is nothing special about the breakfast here. We ordered the country breakfast and the dad's breakfast. They substituted the toast for a french toast without an additional charge which was nice. I added hash browns to the country breakfast and it only cost an additional dollar. I did ask for crispy hash but I did not get that. Which was a little disappointing. The gravy on the country breakfast was nothing worth noting. I wish it would have had a little more flavor and it did not seem like it was dairy-based. It did have small pieces of ham which was different but not enough sausage for my taste. The service was very prompt and very friendly which is a big plus for me. So if you are ready to sit and eat this place is good but if you're looking for somthing special they do not have that as their menu is very basic. My 5 Stars is for everything FOOD, SERVICE, & AMBIANCE! (FOOD) I ordered the "Truckers Omelet" it came with hash browns and choice of toast . I had pancakes with mine. My wife ordered a "Short Stack" and ex crispy Bacon. Everything was delicious the hash browns were shreds and crispy and hot, the omelette was so good i probably could have ate another half for sure! My wife and I both loved the pancakes. They are perfectly cooked and fluffy and Delicious. (SERVICE) The guy that served us was a very friendly very respectful younger guy. The nicest folks work at Mom's! We were greeted promptly and seated. Our orders came out quickly and piping hot. I had the veggie omelette. It was chock full of mushrooms, spinach and peppers. Yum. And the hash browns! Crispy but not overcooked on the outside, hot and tender inside. Hubby got the country breakfast and liked everything but didn't feel like it was super outstanding. To be fair, it's pretty basic but he ate it all and seemed happy. We were checked on several times during our meal and that was good. The atmosphere is kinda weird to me like the building used to be a bar with a dark interior. They've put a lot of cute mid century decor around to create a grandma/mom's type atmosphere. I think the owners may not have the money right now, but I think if they painted the walls and ceiling lighter colors it would be super cute and have a cleaner feel. After a night in town on a road trip my girlfriend and I stopped here for some breakfast to go. My Greek omelette was pretty good but the order of French toast I included with it reminded me how fond I was of my school cafeteria food. I ordered two French toasts too unfortunately. I suggest good hearty sausage gravy... ALWAYS! Whatever it was, was not good. Jim's serves the same gravy and it is just not great. The chicken fried steak was NOT good. It has a very odd taste. It reminded me of what I might find in a very low end cafeteria. I ate every bite because I was starving and it was $11ish dollars. I chose pancakes as my bread choice and received one small and very unimpressive pancake. Me and my husband are big on pancakes though... so maybe for others, it is fine. My husband ordered an omelet and for him, it was satisfactory How many ways can you mess up an omelet? Eggs are pretty basic. The hash browns were very typical hash browns and they were fine. This is the best big place in Kearns for breakfast lunch and late lunch and brunch! I have a cheeseburger with a house-made coleslaw it was super yummy my girlfriend had the chicken cordon bleu with fries that had gravy on it and they were look good. Her husband had the Greek omelette with lips super yummy! We were serve unsweetened iced tea at request with lemon hi. The tea was strong and it was fabulous no. I took a bunch of pictures of the place. There is a piano there as I was taking pictures of the piano I heard the high notes twinkle little bit as if someone was sitting at the piano playing it. I'm pretty sure someone was sitting there but I couldn't see them. The atmosphere is cozy comfy kind of dark but full of light and life! The owner and his brother are really cool. They serve up some yummy comfort food which will surely put a smile on your face! Joe the host was regaling us with Tales of good stuff. Take time to come eat these people and if they're yummy food!
