Came here for lunch on the weekend. Plenty of parking. Not a lot of customers when we came in, but staff was friendly & attentive - even brought my daughter coloring pages & crayons. This place gave me more of a breakfast/brunch vibe than lunch or dinner. I ordered the shrimp tacos with fries. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs & hashbrowns. The food came out hot & did not take long at all. My shrimp tacos were great. I'd get them again. The fries were pretty standard. My husband enjoyed the chicken fried steak & eggs, but was not a fan of their style of hashbrowns. Our daughter picked from our plates (she tends to be skittish around food not shaped like a chicken nugget). Overall great experience & value for what we were served. I would recommend. read more

Two stars only on one item: Biscuits and Gravy. Very good portion - huge! Problem: flour roux not cooked out, very thick gravy with virtually no sausage flavor! I love Anna's Restaurant! Few restaurants still have the personal touch. The recipes, the staff, the service, and the menu - all 5 star. The new owners have done an exceptional job in updating the furniture, amenities, and menu. My personal favorites are the saltiboca, any one of the 5 gourmet hamburgers and any of the breakfast menu items especially the omelettes and pancakes. Their strawberry topping is especially delightful. I have eaten here with family and friends, business associates, and even large parties in their banquet room. Older building tucked away in a corner of Murray with patrons that are on first-name basis with the staff. It's a friendly joint and one that takes a slower pace, which I appreciate. Very fresh salad and yumny side veggies--most side veggies at restaurants are not, so that is saying a lot! so much food that I ended up having three meals from my leftovers! Rhonda eventually had biscuits and gravy, while I chose the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. The food arrived after about 15 minutes. The biscuits and gravy were basic and quite good. I've driven by Anna's for years but have never been inside. It's a large restaurant that although dated and a bit tired, it still felt clean and inviting. We were there after 11 on a Saturday and it looked like lots of regulars were there with a few tables that weren't seniors, including us. We were immediately greeted as soon as we walked through the door and our server was friendly and prompt. We were there for brunch and the menu had the typical mom & pop offerings of omelets, pancakes, French toast, eggs and combos. I ordered the Zorbas breakfast combo that comes with 2 eggs, choice of protein, hash brown potatoes and choice of toast. I would have loved an option of a pancake or English muffin in lieu of standard toast. The amount of food was plentiful, especially the fresh sliced potato hash browns (not shredded). They put cheese on the potatoes which if I go again, will ask to withhold (seemed like processed cheese) and while I ordered my eggs over-easy they were definitely overcooked as the yolks were almost solid. The ham was my protein choice and the slice was as big and round as the plate. I'd go again and try something new next time for comparison. read more

Items are comprised of the cheapest commercial product available, making it feel a bit too much like cafeteria fare. Hamburger patty was flavorless and mealy. Bun dry and much bigger than the patty. Turkey sandwich featured artifical gravy concentrate and some water-logged, microwaved veges. Pancake was straight up Krusteez Mix and water. Oddly, the Cholulu bottle contained Frank's Red Hot. Service was the bright spot. Quick and friendly. Cashier was also cheerful and kind, and introduced herself by name. Restaurant is mostly bare of ornamentation and the carpets are filthy. A really sad, neglected feel pervaded the dining room, which wouldn't be terrible if the food were super cheap, which it isn't. Prices compare well to a Dee's or Village Inn. On our way to some boring chain restaurant a few weeks back, my wife and I randomly stopped in at a place we drive by ALL the time - Anna's Restaurant. At 7:00 PM on a weeknight, there were only a few other tables sat in the whole place, which didn't fill us with too much confidence. That said, we sat proudly and ordered - my wife got spaghetti with meat sauce and I got a bacon cheeseburger. Rolls were delivered to the table which were AWESOME. Clearly homemade that morning. Super fresh and great. The spaghetti wasn't bad - it was just what you'd expect when you order spaghetti at a diner. Tasted like something that your non-Italian Mom used to make to feed hordes of hungry mouths. There was a LOT of it - we got 3 meals out of the serving. The burger on the other hand, was amazing. I was hoping mid-roll that the bun would be homemade too... and it was. Super soft, fresh, and just downright awesome. Give this little random place a few of your bucks some night for dinner when you're in a quirky mood and you'll be glad you did. We'll be returning! read more

Anna's restaurant is a local diner, yes we serve breakfast all day, type of restaurant in the Murray almost Holladay area inside the I-215 beltway. Its located in the needs a little love shopping center next to the old K-Mart and across from the new Wal-Mart. The exterior of the restaurant may be 30 years old but the inside is warm, clean and moderately remodeled. I'm a huge fan of Anna's breakfast. Matter a fact, I only have eaten breakfast here many many times. Very often I go for lunch and eat breakfast because at Anna's you can do it. They have a Greek flare to their menu which isn't Greek only like many of the Greek family restaurants in Salt Lake. The waitresses are friendly and provide prompt and attentive service and are the same ones each time. I'm sure if you'd like to have a Cheers type breakfast place where everyone knows your name, this would be the place. As far as breakfast is concerned they have the gamut covered. They have lots of omelets and they aren't wimpy 3 egg omelets, they're 4 egg! Man sized! Like pancakes? They have them. Want something unique? Get Zorba's breakfast, its like a scrambler almost that you are responsible for scrambling. I really enjoyed it with the giant ham steak on top. If you're a meat eater, there's a chicken fried steak (CFS) for breakfast. The breading had a unique taste to it that I'd never had before. All the prices are very approachable and as good a value as any chain breakfast joint. So why waste money there and get bad service when you can go to Anna's? This place is a bit of an enigma but I love it! It's location is odd and has an almost cottage like appearance on the outside. Inside it has the feel of a well worn family diner, which it turns out is exactly what it is. Have you ever seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding? It's kind of like that. You get the feeling that 90% of their customers they are on a first name basis with, which I find enchanting. As far as the food goes it isn't anything fancy, but at the same time, they aren't charging you fancy prices. They always seem to have a $4.99 breakfast special which will fill you up no problem. When I told the waitress that the club sandwich sounded good but that I couldn't have the bread she promptly accepted the challenge to build it sans the bread. When I asked her if the kitchen had ever done that before she said no but that it would be their pleasure to try. I like to imagine some old Greek woman in the kitchen staring in disbelief at the request. "Whut do you mean she doesn't want any bread!? It's a sandwich!" It took a few minutes to be noticed and then another few for someone to wipe down a table to be seated at. I've got to say, this was definitely not what we'd hoped for. The place was dimly lit and had somewhat of a depressing feel to it, although I really did like the design and decor, the place just FELT so desperately sad. It took about fifteen minutes for a waitress to come by the take our order. We were actually considering leaving at the top of the hour if nobody came by. She came to take our order at two minutes til. Still, we tried salvaging the trip, since we were hungry and elated about our new home. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs and toast. My wife ordered strawberry pancakes, and I don't remember what the kids had, it doesn't really matter. The arrival of our food was bittersweet. We were served great big portions, but the gravy on my food was rather runny and the eggs were your basic sysco powdered eggs, typical of hospital cafeterias around the valley. My wife's "strawberry pancake" was merely an eight dollar 8" pancake with strawberry-like syrup. She'd expected maybe a fresh strawberry, not just fructose corn syrup. No matter. We ate what we could and got the hell out of there. Too finish off the morning, we walked over to the sad little k-mart in the same shopping development just to complete the sad little shop and dine experience. read more

The breakfast menu was comprehensive with many awesome choices. I decided to go with the special which was only 5 bucks, hence the reason I've given a four star rating. It was the sausage patties and eggs which came with a huge amount of home fries all of which was done to perfection. My daughter got the kids pancake which was also huge and looked delicious. My wife got the gyro which was so so and the price seems so so too. The only big miss was the strawberry waffle. For eight bucks it should have fresh fruit on it, but instead it came out with its weird jam all over it which just didn't work. This restaurant is awesome. It seems a little run down inside, but not terrible. I did need to use the restroom. When I had gone in, the doorknob was kind of just hanging a little bit and i noticed that the door doesnt latch shut. It made me feel a little insecure. However, there is stalls which did latch. So I felt a little safer. The service was awesome! Our server didnt bother us every 2 minutes which was fantastic. The food was delicious and the sandwiches were bigger than expected. Anna's Restaurant is a pretty typical American diner-style, restaurant with a large menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. I believe they serve breakfast all day, but I'm not sure. Sure Anna's isn't the cleanest restaurant or the nicest, but the staff is friendly, the food is cheap, and the portions are big. The eggs and bacon were a little oily for my tastes but they had a good flavor and I enjoyed my breakfast. One thing I liked was that they make their own hashbrowns out of sliced up potatoes. I like those a lot better than the shredded king. I would recommend Anna's and I would eat here again for breakfast. read more

Been coming here for a bit with friends. It's solid diner food. Breakfasts and burgers are good (although the burger buns are HUGE). Service has always been excellent. Fresh ingredients? Not too sure there. They don't have avocado on the menu so no avo on salads or with omelets. Avoid the lemon chicken. I asked how it was cooked and she said lightly breaded and grilled. I specifically asked if it was cooked in a bunch of oil and she said no. It was very oily and greasy AND.... had no lemon flavor at all. Don't call something lemon chicken if there is no flavor. I ate a bite or two then boxed it up for hubby. Will keep coming back for breakfast and a burger. Anything else... nah. read more

We stopped in for lunch on a whim as we were driving by. We were pleasantly surprised. By appearances it looks run down but the service was great and the food was pretty darn good when compared to diner food. The server was especially awesome. We are on the keto diet and she helped us swap out carb loaded side with other items. Burger and 4-egg omelette were tasty and my son was happy with his grilled cheese and fries.
