This is an amazing find. I sat at the counter and I felt like I was watching an episode of Cheers. The customers are regulars. Everyone knows everyone's name and story and was catching up over breakfast. One gentleman even brought in a stash of huge zucchini squash... like the size of my thighs... to give to the waitresses. I've been eating here for years but it's been a while since my last visit. A coworker and I decided to try the French dip. It was super meaty and came with a good amount of fries. The fries were the fresh cut variety and dripping, soaked in oil. I couldn't finish them because it was just too much grease. Service was interesting. The guy that took our drink order was super friendly. Another employee I asked a question of was just miserable. The interior is pretty grimy. Maybe they were short staffed, I ordered simple eggs bacon hash-brown and sourdough toast My husband ordered a burrito. The food took another 20 min or more. Kinda of surprising for breakfast since usually easier to cook and no one had any crazy meals like pancakes or French toast. I enjoyed my meal. The sourdough toast was not sourdough to me. Maybe she grabbed white bread instead? The bacon was thick and good. Hash-browns were crispy on the outside. I had over easy eggs my husband really liked his breakfast burrito,- enough for left overs! It was huge! One thing was like ugh really. the waitress came to refill our coffee and it spilled a little on the table and she said oh sorry and tried to use her hand to clean it! I couldn't help but to laugh and my friend immediately grabbed a napkin to wipe it. My doctor told me that I need to boost my iron so I ordered Liver and onions through Door Dash from Ogies, now don't get me wrong I truly love Ogies but this was not how I remember it being cooked before. I received 2 breaded long liver patties with brown gravy and the onions on top. It was dipped in bread crumbs and baked like a chicken fried steak only baked. Needless to say I was very disappointed I was looking forward to fried liver cooked with the onions for flavor. Once a month for the past 10 years our group has been going to Ogies for breakfast, that is until four months ago. When we arrive, we have been going to the back of the restaurant, even though there is a rope blocking off the area. This is the only place that can accommodate 12 people together. The last time we went, a woman (not the owner) came from the front of the cafe and proceeded to scream at us saying the area was closed. She made us move to four tables in the middle of the cafe. No sooner we were seated, when they opened the area where we had been sitting for two people. Our group was incensed, and the guys have refused to go back. We usually spend over $24 per person so they have been missing out of appx. $280 + tip each time we went. This week, we are going to try the cafe again. If we encounter the same rudeness and embarrassment, it will end our eating at Ogies forever. read more

Omg... what a place for chicken fried steak. Hand breaded and very delicious. Should not have eaten it all but I couldn't help myself. Eggs cooked well, the only issue is they must use oil to cook the hash browns in as they had a greasy taste that made them off putting. Still very good and will be back for sure. Their French toast is made with sourdough bread and it's thick and extremely tasty. Instead of giving you a squeeze bottle of maple syrup, they serve it in a bowl with warmed maple syrup in it; perfect for dipping. The 4 slices of bacon were thick cut, and well salted...just the way I like it. Their coffee is good, too, although I'm hard to please on coffee so I don't usually review coffee at restaurants. Service is quick-people don't hang out at your table chit-chatting, but they will quickly get you what you want. There were two separate people making the rounds with coffee, offering to refill or warm up your drink-almost to the point that it was comical. We would decline a warm up, and less than two minutes later someone else would come and offer the same thing. You won't go without a refill here. The food is decent-greasy and tasty. There is more food than you can probably eat in one sitting-the portion sizes are massive. If it isn't some old guy habitually coughing and hacking up phlegm, its people talking loudly (often on speaker) or watching videos at high volume on their phones.
