Mom's Products was founded by Ben Azouz in 1999. He was the first ever to sell hummus in Farmer's Markets and would commute from San Diego to Orange County to do so. The company gets its moniker from an acronym of his family - Mohsen, Omar, Malik, & Sophia. His products became so popular that you can find them at over 30 different Farmer's Market locations in four different counties. Years ago, a co-worker brought back pita chips & hummus from a local Farmer's Market in DTLA. They were both a hit with our group, so much so that we would go every week for more. I was bummed when I moved to a different location and could no longer get my fix of these awesome pita chips and hummus. I was thrilled when I recently discovered them again at the BOA FM! The stand carries a variety of different hummus dips, fresh pita bread pita chips, kefir, garlic spread, prepared salads, flatbread, samoussas, & other Mediterranean delights. I am reposting after one month. I have been going to the Ojai Farmer's market for two years and always got 4 items for $20. I am creating a new review to let management know that their higher prices seems to have made an impact on their sales as, there always used to be a long line but there never is now. I decided to boycott Mom's Products after being a loyal customer since they started in the 90's, when the prices went from $6 for one item to $7 for one item and from 3 items for $15 to 3 items for $20. I called the owner to complain and was told by a manager it is due to gas prices. Everyone is suffering from high prices. Hopefully they will go back to their prices which are still expensive for the amount given but I hope if enough people boycott, they will reconsider and go back to a fair price. $20 for three small items is too much. read more

I first got the product from the Farmer's Market in Buena Park on Saturday. I got the Pistachio & the Chipotle dip. Then I complained that they ruined any other dip for me, I tried the dip I have been eating for years but it tasted gross then the one I got from them, I finished a whole container in one setting. My waste line is complaining but my stomach is very happy so overall all I AM HAPPY HAHAHAHA. I ALMOST forgot the guy i spoken to on the phone, very polite, very nice. read more

I always looking forward to stopping by this booth at the Torrance Farmer's Market. Today at the farmer's market, we were happy to see this booth again. There was a HUGE variety of dips, and pita. The workers were super nice and encouraged us to try as many samples as we want! My favorites we tried were the tomato garlic dip and the basil & sun dried tomato dip. It was 1 for $6 or 3 for $15, so I got 2 tomato garlic dips and 1 basil & sun dried tomato dip. I also got the wheat & white flour pita bread. The dips are soo tasty. Definitely better than the store bought hummus. Highly recommend stopping here to try out their dips! read more

I got the tomato basil hummus and the garbanzo chips at the South Pasadena farmers market. It's soooo good and addicting! Very fresh and they have samples so you are able to try it before buying but all their products are delicious! They were nice and helpful at the farmers market. This time I stopped by & asked his name, Ben! A very friendly & funny guy. He presents his products with such gusto & panache, how can I NOT buy? One lady next to me asked "Do you have the lemon & herb pita chips?" And Ben replies excitedly "But of course we do!" I heard lemon & my ears perked up. Gotta have that! MISREPRESENTATION AS TO MANUFACTURER OF PRODUCT I was shopping at the Calabasas farmers market this morning and came across this vendor. They were selling a product called Taramosalata. The glass containers seemed to be sealed but the labels were scratched off leaving only the paper backing. When I asked if this product was made by the company, I was assured that it was. WRONG ANSWER. It is my opinion that the product is a Krinos Brand Taramosalata, a comercial product readily available in stores including Ralph's. Take a look at the photo of the product on the vendors farmers market table and compare to the comercial product can. Pay attention to where I have arrows and circles drawn on the photo to facilitate your comparison. It is my opinion that they simply purchased the products, removed labels, and resell as their own. Take a look and make your own decisions. I will be reporting these people to the market company and will never buy from them again. Vendors like this make the rest of the legitimate sellers look bad. On my paleo diet journey, I had to cut back on a lot of food that I typically love. I ran into this business at the local Monrovia Farmer's Market and saw that there were so many items I was able to eat/purchase from them since they all adhered to my diet (if you've ever been on paleo - you know it's a challenge to find things to eat sometimes). Their price points are really good for being super fresh and delicious food. We got some garlic dip, olives, and artichoke salad. My husband and I went to the Bixby Park Farmers market in Long Beach this past Saturday and after having a good interaction with the salesman, ended up buying 6 items for $50 which I thought seemed pretty high. He even threw in the 6th item at a discount "for only $3!" he claimed. After reading through these reviews I'm really disappointed to see we got hosed. Turns out their pricing is standard across all farmers markets: 1 item for $6, 3 for $15, and 5 for $25. Putting that here because it's hard to find - it's not written anywhere at the booth, on their site, or tagged on any products. I only saw it mentioned in one of the business' responses to a negative review. Basically we should have been charged $28, but paid almost double! Will not be purchasing again. Just wanted to share a conversation with the vendor in the palisades market on this 100 degree day. Me - Do you have any olive containers that haven't been sitting out in the heat Him (with attitude)- Where do you think olives grow? In the heat. Me - Oh, so where should I store these when I take them back, on the counter? Him (derisively again)- No, you really need to store these in the fridge. Wow. But I did stop by a more friendly vendor later who was selling olives, and he reassured that they could be stored out of the fridge and promised to give money back if his went bad (that's how you do customer service) He also made fun of the neighboring vendor for selling his product. Darn right 5 stars, if I was with my work fam I'd pass the baton aka my phone so they could also back my words plus we don't settle for 2nd place so it should come to no surprise that when we all go to the farmers market every Wednesday at work we only pick up the cream of the crop and that cream is moms products specifically kitchen sink dip, which the name might throw you off like wtf, I knew it threw me off but just like a man speaking of things being big when it's actually small, referring to his bank account, what did you think I was talking about ? Oh my gosh, come on now, y'all be nasty, I guess this is kinda the same but not really but you get the point it's the opposite of what it sounds like. I also have tried a few different Greek yah gottz which were all GEEKING, I know I tried the fig one which was very good and I can't remember the others, I usually have the kind gentleman pick for me. I have yet to ask his name I know know I know shame on me, always preaching the importance of names and seem to practice the opposite of that. Smh but I will next Wednesday. But I work in Ontario and I'm pretty sure you guys know where you go on Wednesdays in Ontario so you can add it up without naming specifically where I work so you can give him a nice big bonus, as he deserves it. For real for real like this last Wednesday I was freeeeeezing as I ran to the market and tried to get in and out (like the hamburgers) I couldn't help but feel for him as it was windy cold and wet. I knew he was cold as well because he had his hood on and the strings pulled so it looked like a turtle barley with his head out of his shell. He is always so kind and friendly. I absolutely love this business, I had an instance where one of my stalk piles of kiefer were not the best and they took care of me no problem to get them replaced. Malik who i see probably like every week now is always so kind to me and my boyfriend we always feel like we are just visiting a friend every time we go. im a bit of a health nut and they always always answer my questions when it comes to the nutrional value.
