This is one of my favorite places to get banchan in NV!! They have some of the best selections and I love that they also make kimbobs, bentos and plate lunches!! I got the marinated KFC and Japchae this time around and man it did a great job at feeding me twice!! I loved how sweet and savory the chicken was (HEADS UP: it does have a kick to it so if you like spicy like me you should be all good but, if spice isn't your thing I would recommend going with the regular KFC since its not sauced) and the japchae was seasoned beautifully. This is the kind of meal I love having for lunch because I know I won't feel sluggish afterwards. The service is always fast and the workers are always friendly. My favorite is probably the Radish Kimchi!! I also love frying up the Napa Kimchi and making a fried rice with it a couple days after getting it. It's not the biggest space-wise but honestly I feel like it covers all you could want when coming here. I live for a good mom (pun intended) and pop shop. This place is a cute Korean shop that serves variety of Korean drinks and goodies cold and hot. I'm also a sucker for ramen, and they had a few brands I had never tried. They serve hot food where you pick a base and a protein. One of my sisters got shrimp and fried rice and enjoyed it. I got some ramen, kimchi, and a mango soda. I asked for a side of bulgogi to go on top of my ramen and the employee didn't charge me for it. Super sweet staff! They only have a couple of tables, so be prepared for that if you want to eat there. I think this place may be known for the ice cream they sell. They are ice cream popsicles that taste like vanilla mixed with lemon or mango with white chocolate on the outside. Sooo good on such a beautiful and warm day. This spot has homemade Korean side dishes available for you to take home, frozen meats, sweet treats (they have the viral peach and mango ice creams!), and bottled drinks but they also serve a pick your own items hot box meal! You can choose a base (white rice, fried rice, or japchae, or half and half) then choose a protein. All meals come with a soup and side of kimchi. Time to restock the banchan. It was a surprise to me how close this place is to the Greenland Supermarket. The banchan dishes here were exceptional compared to most, and the price was reasonable. Bought 5 banchans and all tasted fresh and were prepared appropriately. It's worth checking their social media accounts for promos, such as 10% off on certain days. Mom's Refrigerator can be found on the corner, located in the same plaza as Moobongri Soondae with parking available. I had this place bookmarked for a while, as I had seen this place on a previous visit to Las Vegas. I ended up visiting Mom's Refrigerator this past Saturday afternoon. The two employees (possible the owners?) behind the counter was very friendly upon entering. After browsing the refrigerators, we ended up purchasing: Fish Cake & Ham Gimbap, $13.99 prior to tax- This gimbap and bulgogi were the only two varieties available upon my visit. I ended up picking this one because this one had vegetables. One of the employees told me this one had vegetable but the bulgogi one was all meat and rice (also cost $15.99 prior to tax, with 2 full cut rolls). This gimbap was pretty good and tightly rolled (such a bummer when gimbap or any roll is loosely rolled and just falls apart before it gets into your mouth). Although a bit pricey, you are getting 2 rolls, which is actually a fair price. Steamed Squid, $6.30 prior to tax- My husband picked this and we both really enjoyed the squid. It was perfectly cooked, tender and had a nice chew. Quiet a large portion for the price. Stir Fried Fish Cake, $4.17 prior to tax- One of my go to banchan that I love (I also love the potato salad too but didn't get it on this visit, but they do sell it for those that also love that), I picked up a container of this. The fish cakes were very tasty. -------------------------------- (Total= $26.51 after tax) I like the variety of banchan that Mom's Refrigerator offers (good ol' mom). They also sell some prepackaged noodle kits that you would find in H Mart, bottled soft drinks and also raw marinaded crab for those looking for it (available in both spicy and non spicy variations). You can this beautiful establishment off Desert Inn and Decatur near Chinatown off Spring Mountain. I'm so glad I came here before our at-home Korean bbq night at the house. The place is very easy to find with the images and fun font on the storefront! The place is a bit, but with the fridges all along the walls, there is lots of space to store and display food, and space for us to walk around! In addition to Korean bbq meats & banchan/sides like kimchi, pickled radish, mango grapes, etc. there were my fav Asian drinks & delicious raw marinated crab. I enjoyed that in addition to their fridges, they had a hot food station as well- I got some traditional gimbap, but they had a lot of options there as well. Just need a snack? They have packaged snacks on the shelves! I'm so glad I came here- while perusing, the lady up front was very helpful and let me put some items on the front desk while I spent quite some type going back and forth about what I wanted. Ok so I was really excited to try this place but I'll only go back for the prepackaged things because the food was mid at best. The bulgogi was more like sukiyaki flavored than anything & had a lot of juice all over my bag. The spinach was bland but can be salvaged at home later. The bean sprouts and soy beans were bland, the fish cake was... I'm not sure how to describe it but "good" or any other positive adjective doesn't come to mind. The pickled cucumbers were super salty and not at all tasty. The kimchi also left a lot to be desired. Really a letdown. Even my kid felt like the japchae was mid and he loves japchae. They do have mango ice cream though so I'd go back for that. I can't say I would recommend this place. Sorry. Hate to leave a bad review, but this is my honest opinion. read more

After seeing many reviews, I visited on a weekday afternoon and shop was busy. Everything was nice and clean. I was amazed by the assortment and organization of korean side dishes and frozen meats available in their refrigerators! Also had excellent customer service, we were holding items deciding on what to get cashier offered to hold our dishes until we paid. They also had bento boxes and kimbap which are convenient on the go. After I got home, made some rice and we feasted on grilled pork belly. The pork belly was good thin slices like bacon. I have to say the seafood kimchi pancake, cucumber, kimchi, and japchae noodles we bought were tasty. I was excited to find out that there was a Korean banchan store in Vegas called Mom's Refrigerator! They have all the banchan basics ranging from various kimchis, squids, anchovies, perilla leaves, etc. They also have Korean pancakes and a whole wall of different meats available for Korean BBQ and other Korean dishes you may want to prepare. In addition to the grocery items, they also have a Made to Order menu where you can order different freshly prepared dishes. The service was really friendly and fast, and although it's a very small place, they pack quite a bit of options in there. The store is kept very open and clean and has a small table and a handful of chairs if you need to take a quick seat while you're there. I purchased the kimchi stew, spicy anchovy banchan, and bulgogi kimbap. The kimchi stew was pretty good and was my favorite food item that I got there. The reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the ingredients used and the flavor of the anchovies and bulgogi kimbap. For example, when making the anchovy banchan, I'm used to using honey or brown sugar; at this place they use high fructose corn syrup which isn't ideal health-wise. I also found the flavor to be too sweet and lacking the more deep, complex sweet/savory flavor that I'm used to enjoying with that particular side dish. Also, the fish cake and ham kimbap had nitrites in it, so I opted for the bulgogi kimbap instead which was just okay; I wouldn't get it again though. Nonetheless, I do look forward to coming back and trying more of the other food items there! And I would definitely get the kimchi stew again as well if things get busy and I don't have time to make my own. read more

What an absolutely unique shopping experience. I arrived during a power outage and it was possibly the best shopping experience I've had in a while. The people there were still incredibly helpful with getting my fed DURING A POWER OUTAGE! The staff there is amazing and I'm so very grateful. They literally used their phone cameras to help me pick then to see while cooking. In a pitch black kitchen they produced the most delicious Kalbi bento and Rose Tobokki. The kimmbop was their specialty and spectacular. There are a bunch of cooked options as well as a refrigerated section. I can't wait to go back but first I have to get through all this food. Love this place! Cute little Korean hole in the wall store than sells fresh banchan and frozen hot pot meats, also some delicious ready to eat foods and Korean goods. Located in a little rougher neighborhood at the end of a strip mall, it has several parking stalls in front for customers. The inside is very clean and well lit, and there are two small tables with chairs for customers who wish to eat their purchases there. My wife and I stop in once in a while to buy their fresh Kim chee and anchovy banchan, and usually eat lunch while we're there. I usually grab a plate lunch...first you pick your protein, then choice of starch (white rice, fried rice $1.00 extra, or japchae...my favorite). I LOVE their braised spicy pork and japchae, while she likes a side order of spicy calamari! They serve the meals with sides of Kim chee and hot broth (a tad salty but hot and good). Prices are very reasonable for the quality and generous quantity, and I usually have leftovers for dinner. We also got the bulgogi kimbap...a bit pricey but there are two (2) rolls in the container and it is STUFFED with yummy beef bulgogi...so tasty! The guy who works there is nice and once before one of the ladies (Mom?) came out from the kitchen and warmed up the shrimp wrap item my wife bought to eat...good service! Really really wanted to love this place. It's a unique store in Vegas. Usually my kinda place -- banchan/Korean appetizers to-go heaven. Staff are really really nice. Great for others but it's a total food hangover for someone sensitive like me. This place will continue to be popular and it is a very much needed place in Vegas. They would do great in LA too!! We over bought around $90+ worth of only banchan and prepared/ready to eat food for just 2ppl (eating it for the rest of the week with other cooked items). The ingredients seem fresh and cleaned well, with everything tasting decent as in not overly anything sweet or salty...but it was off. Why am I getting food hangovers?? (Headaches, food coma, waking up from food coma with extreme headache and not feeling well, light gas, etc). Yelper Ada H.'s review explained that the store over uses msg. And it explains my confused reaction to their comfort food that looks well made. I'm sensitive to msg and can eat places that have a little sometimes. It's difficult to avoid msg cause it's not that bad if used in small amounts. Many restaurants in LA avoid or use lighter amounts of msg due to local population sensitivity and not being a popular ingredient. But the amount in mom's refrigerator was intense. So sadddd to see the quality, freshness and cleanliness was ruined by the over use of msg. Or maybe it's only in particular dishes? Compared to LA ktown market's grab and go food, mom's refrigerator cost either around the same or just a tiny bit higher, but offers better quality and cleanliness, but heavier on the msg. Locals only really have Greenland Korean Market (Korean plaza) with access to banchan and prepared Korean market food to go. The quality is horrible there, and extreme food hangover too so we stopped getting things from there. We visited because I love Korean spicy marinated crab (Yangnyeom Gejang). It's already difficult to find this dish from restaurants, let alone markets. And if found, it's a question of trust. This place offers a huge quantity amount of $30+ packages but filled with 5-8 crabs cut in half. It's spicy, so not for mild eaters (like me but I'm willing to torture myself for it). No eggs. But the protein muscles are like jelly, so the main body is the easiest to squeeze out. But the arms are a little more difficult which can be normal. I get the spicy version vs soy marinated because I'm hoping the spicy would add enough possible sanitation to raw seafood...not true but I'm stuck in old school bro science in this. Base/Protein dishes: - $33.50 Korean spicy marinated crab (Yangnyeom Gejang) with at least 5-8 crabs. They are cut in halves. - $7.05 Pig trotters slices with sauce - $8.82 Steamed Squid rings with sauce Garnishes and fillers like: - $6.99 Shredded Green Onion with sauce - $4.75 Pickled Shredded Radish and carrots - $8.99 Glass Noodles Sides: - $9.41 Seasoned seaweed - $4.51 Seasoned Canola - $5.99 Spicy Shredded Radish Pollock roe, octopus, pancakes to gimbap (looks like sushi rolls) are also a normal fav but we didn't get it this time. Again, I'm in no way an expert in Korean banchan. I'm just a big fan. I grew up eating in SoCal with mostly Tawianese, Northern Chinese food (which is Korean influenced), Korean food, light canto food in my childhood, to later in life with more Canto food, Vietnamese food, Mexican food, and Japanese food. I saw this place by accident. First, everyone here are fluent in English which is a plus in Korean places. They have all sorts of Korean side dishes here plus all sorts of meat cut for shabu and grill. It's very convenient for anyone who doesn't have hours cooking daily. Do I think it's delicious, it's probably just average. They also told me they put MSG everywhere in all their dishes. I came across Mom's Refrigerator a bit ago but brushed it off and completely forgot about it. My friend recently brought them back to my attention due to them having meats. I took a look at the pictures and immediately got interested because they had a large variety of banchan aka side dishes! Plus they had made to order fish and gimbap! They have a few different gimbap to choose from: original (sausage), bulgogi, tuna, and kimchi I believe. We went around 6PM Friday night and they had ran out of rice so we weren't able to get any. My husband went back tonight (Saturday) around 430PM and were able to get a bulgogi gimbap $9.99 and a regular gimbap $8.99. For the fish, it does take 30 minutes to prepare. They suggest that you call ahead if you want to order them. For today, they had a choice of: mackerel, atka mackerel, pike fish, yellow croaker, flounder, and belt fish. They're opened Monday-Saturdays from 10AM - 7PM. They surprisingly had a lot of banchan left on Friday night so if you can't go during the day, don't worry about not getting a good selection. A lot of the cooked items were 50% off like the mandu that night, which was nice! I went a little overboard cause everything looked good! The seasoned blood clams were great! The potato salad brings me back to my childhood because it contains apple and egg as well and that's how my family used to make it. It was also sweet so if you think you're getting the tangy potato salad, you're going to be disappointed. The braised egg was good as well but the egg is a tad too hard for my husband's preference. The gimbap was so good! The bulgogi gimbap was our favorite! I think each order is two full rolls so it was a good amount! And they were giant rolls too! I think they mislabeled the stir fried dried shrimp. It should be anchovies and it was also very delicious. It's one of my favorite sides and it goes great with a bit of rice! They also have marinated raw crab! They have two different ones: marinated crab in soy sauce $10/lb and marinated spicy crab $12/lb. There is a common ingredient that makes their food yummy though and it's sugar. Most of their items are on the sweet side and while I'm not a huge fan of sweet things, it works for the sides. The service we got here was fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and very happy to tell us about the dishes. They also told us what was their most popular items and were quick to answer our questions. We really love this place and so happy we gave them a try! They will be our to-go from now on if I need to get some banchan and if I'm craving gimbap. We will definitely be back soon to try their fish and marinated crabs! read more

WOW WOW WOW! Did I mention WOW!?!? My apologies to Samee Side Dishes, as this place has now replaced my favorite banchan place. Their selection of banchan is ridiculous! It's huuuuge! Bought 2 different kinds of banchan, 3 different kinds of jeon, dongchimi, pork kimchi jjigae and gimbap. Only thing I'd skip the next time is the dongchimi. It wasn't bad, just not the kind I like (my all-time favorite is the one they serve at Kang Hodong Baekjon in So. Cal.). The cucumber kimchi was top-notch, as was the marinated dried squid. All 3 kinds of the jeon (ground beef-stuffed peppers, meat and nokdu jeon) were excellent. The nokdu jeon is second only to Hannam Chain's version. The gimbap was good, but the price pushes it to excellent. Samee Side Dishes gets the nod for still having the best gimbap in town, but it is pricier. The pork kimchi jjigae was goooood. Spicy but good. Some might find it a bit too sweet, but I thought it was tasty. Better than some restaurants at a fraction of the price. Conveniently located on Decatur, just south of Desert Inn, in the same strip mall as Moobongri Soondae. Store is nice and clean, well stocked with all kinds of Korean goodies, and nice courteous employees. Can't wait to go back and try more stuff, although it'll be a while seeing as it's gonna take me a while to go through what I got today. read more

Welcome to Mom's Refrigerator in Las Vegas--except this one's not in your mom's kitchen, it's an adorable Korean grocery store that smells like fermented magic and dreams. First of all, the name? Genius. Because yes, it really does feel like you've just cracked open the fridge of an ajumma who's been cooking with ancestral guidance and zero measurements for the past 40 years. Their kimchi game is elite. Spicy, funky, homemade goodness that could probably heal a breakup or at least scare off whatever's haunting your sinuses. They sell it by the jar, by the bucket, maybe even by the gallon if you're bold. And you should be. You'll also find ready-made banchan (side dishes) like spicy radish, japchae, marinated tofu, and a seaweed salad. Their soy-marinated eggs? Oh, baby. Put those on anything. Or nothing. Just eat 'em over the sink like a feral creature. No judgment. And let's not forget the Korean lunchboxes stacked in the cold case like neatly wrapped edible gifts. Bulgogi, spicy pork, kimchi fried rice--everything you need to feel like your Korean auntie packed you lunch and told you you're too skinny. If you've never been to Mom's Refrigerator, go.
