Was interested in consigning... both times, speaking with her over the phone to get an idea of what she was looking for; and when I brought in some things, She never stopped talking! And I mean she NEVER STOPPED TALKING. After the phone conversation, I thought.... will she be accommodating and be a person that could work well with my things on consignment...? I decide to give it a try. When I went to drop off, the motor mouth started again and did not stop until she scrutinized the clothing, accessory and shoes. When I managed to get a word in edgewise, she repeated the same thing over and over, like I was stupid and didn't either understand or hear her the firs 5 times she said it. I agreed to consign, believing the clothing etc. would be on the selling floor either that day or next. After a week, I thought it might be a good thing to check to see if anything sold. When I arrived, she was deep in conversation with a "looky loo".... I asked about the things and immediately she went into a tirade saying that she told me the things would not be out on the selling floor either bcoz they were spring..... huh? Why would I consign and leave my possessions over to her to be put " wherever she wanted"....? And not to be sold on the selling floor???? Either she's completely crazy or she took me a fool... When I asked why she didn't tell me this... she raised her voice, became belligerent and kept repeating " they're spring items, they are spring things....over and over". When I saw and heard her attitude with me, I raised my voice also and said why would I leave my things with you and not be out for possible sale/s. She did not appreciate me questioning her, bcoz she's such a controlling individual so I asked for all my things back immediately. Upon leaving her overstocked, cluttered, messy environmen, and a poor excuse for a consignment shop, I let her know she's a rude, insulting, nasty person who obviously feels the deep need to act obnoxious... toward a "potential client" ! So glad I did not give her any of my business... I have consigned before... many times in the neighborhoods of Needham, Norwell and Brookline. Vintage fashion, unique items of yesteryear, and new artisan crafts and practical gifts are meticulously displayed in attractive booths from different owners. Excellent reuse of a historic building. The entrance is #12, just past the overhang connecting this old mill to another terrific old brick mill (that hasn't had a renaissance just yet). Not the bargain of the century, but after a few years we've finally figured out that you get what you pay for. Got home, set up the tree, plugged it in, and lo and behold: a string of lights was out. After trying for an hour to diagnose and fix the problem ourselves, I decide to contact the manufacturer, but when I go online to register the purchase, I notice that the name of the tree on the receipt isn't the same as the one we bought. (This was mentioned to us when we paid for the tree, but I admittedly only half paid attention.) Thus, the next day I called Seasonal to see if they could help fix the receipt. They explained the different name on the receipt (the manufacturer changed the model name), then told me to bring the burnt out section of the tree to them. I brought the affected part of the tree to them, and they told me Matt would fix it as soon as he was back from lunch. They took my name, and I headed out to run some other errands. Maybe an hour later, Matt called to tell me that he wouldn't have time to get to my tree today, so he'd pulled the matching section out of a new box, tested it, and had it waiting for me at the front of the store. Just like that, I had a brand new piece and a working Christmas tree. A truism about any sort of customer service: it isn't the problems you remember, it's the resolution. I expected a weeks-long ordeal with the manufacturer, and instead had a pleasant, quick encounter with the Seasonal staff that made my problem go away. We'll definitely be back.

Went to buy fabric this weekend- Mother's Day weekend and a huge fabric sale going on. Walked…read morearound the fabric section for well over 30 minutes (enough time that anyone on a break would have returned) not a single employee in sight to cut fabric. Rang the bell multiple times- watched other employees walk by me peaking through isles. Someone else in line finally went up front to have someone paged. The woman was slooowwww and rude to multiple customers. I had a lot to get cut and tried to be nice but it took forever! I watched more than 1 customer literally put fabric back and walk away. Only when I was almost done did another employee (the same one I saw peaking at me) come up to help. Tell me why, when your only open 1 weekend day- and that day is before a holiday and you have a huge sale- You don't have an employee staying in the area? There was plenty of fabric to put away- it was piled high on the tables and floor all around- so it wasn't that the employee didn't have work to keep her busy in the fabric section.
