My experience was TERRIBLE! I waited in the waiting area for 45 minutes after my appointment time. The attempted to sell me everything possible. I was offered braces and my teeth are straight as hell. I was there a total of 3 hours to only get x rays done and measurements. The hygienist Yolanda suggested an electric toothbrush that was $105. Once I declined the toothbrush I was told that I would have to wait since there were 2 other patients who arrived AFTER me and I could come back at 3pm but my cleaning would be $298. Which I have dental insurance! The only positive was the X Ray lady she was nice other than that I will NEVER Return and couldn't recommend this location to anyone! I called Monarch Dental Cedar Hill to get a teeth cleaning. When I called to schedule an appointment, they said that I would be considered a new patient even though I have been a patient at the Red Bird location (general dentistry) and the Cedar Hill location (orthodontist). I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment time to complete the new patient documents on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. About 15 minutes after my appointment time, I was brought to the back for x-rays which went very smoothly. I was moved to a dental chair and I waited for the dentist (Dr. Walker) for about 20 minutes to arrive. She was very pleasant, but she did try to recommend services that were not requested or needed. For instance, she asked me if I were unhappy with my smile and I verbally said no even though I am pretty sure that I said this on the new patient paperwork. In addition, I had just completed orthodontic work there less than 1 year ago. I still have some baby teeth that never fell out and she said that I may want to consider dental implants when they do or I could get them pulled out sooner if desired. Again, I said no as I have not had any problems. She asked me did I want to have my gums sculpted to see more of my teeth and again I said no. She examined my teeth and then said that the dental hygienist would be in shortly for a gum exam. Approximately 10-15 minutes later, the hygienist arrived to do a gum exam. She asked me what brings me in and I said a teeth cleaning. She told me that she may not be able to do the teeth cleaning today because she had 3 other people to take care. She said that they had booked me as a new patient, but did not book me on the dental hygienist schedule for a teeth cleaning. She said that I might have to return on a later date for the teeth cleaning. As you can imagine, I was livid since this was the only reason that I scheduled an appointment. Further, I was told that there was a 50/50 chance that they could work me in which is unacceptable behavior. I also voiced my displeasure with the office manager who was not helpful and just re-stated what the dental hygienist had said. She said that this is a normal practice by Monarch Dental to schedule a person to come back on a different day for services including a cleaning as needed. I told her that this is not the case as I have been a Monarch dental patient at another location and dental cleaning was done on the same day. In fact, I have never been to a dentist office that could not handle a "new" patient visit and cleaning on the same day. This would be like going to the doctor's office for an ailment and they do everything but treat the ailment. I think that this office should be investigated for upselling practices and failure to disclose that they would not be able to do a cleaning in the same day. This make me wonder if they get additional revenue for having you come back for a 2nd unnecessary appointment. Needless to say, I was very dissatisfied with Monarch Dental Cedar Hill as I could have been at work instead of wasting 1 hour of my time with nonsense. I will be contacting my insurance company regarding them and also making a complaint with the BBB and other review services. I wish there was a zero star option because Monarch Dental Cedar Hill would warrant it. I will not be going back here ever again. read more

On January 8th 2020 I visited monarch dental in Cedar Hill, TX to start my treatment plan for a 4 tooth bridge. I went to my consultation a few days before and there was a full understanding of what the process would be. However, that treatment plan was not followed. Dr. Tabreena Walker refused to listen to my concerns during the treatment as I was telling her I was in excruciating pain throughout the entire process. She simply stated that I was *overreacting*. Come to find out two of the four teeth needed root canals. I had to have root canals performed outside of monarch dental because Dr. Walker was not experience in that field, even though she made claims that any work that needed to be done she would be able to perform it. When it came to choosing Color shades. Dr. Walker told me that there was no lighter shade than dingy coffee stain Brown. I made it very clear to her that I wanted my teeth to be whiter. She told me nothing could be done about it. When in actuality she didn't want to take the proper steps needed to whiten my natural teeth and allow me to do custom color for my bridge and crowns. I had to wear a painful temporary bridge for almost two months because that is how long it took to get the root canals completed due to scheduling. Dr Walker refused to prescribe me anything for pain. So I went 2 months in outrageous pain!! Now, because additional work had to be performed POST my bridge margins/impression being made. Dr. Walker did not make the call to have a new impression made on my teeth. I had the bridge placed in several days after my last root canal. Several days after the bridge being placed in, I got in contact with the dentist office and told them that it was highly uncomfortable and causing me pain and it was incorrectly made. It was not the correct color and it does not allow me to close my mouth properly. Also, due to Doctor Walker and the lack of scope she has in her profession, the bridge is not properly supported. So my jaw and cheek bone is in constant pain because the bridge flexes when I eat. My gums are constantly inflamed and there is a sour rotting odor that comes from it. I brought all of these concerns to the office manager, Camika Collins, and her response to me was; "if you don't like the way Dr. Walker does her work you are more than welcome to go see a different dentist"... This is after I have spent over $8,000 in their office PLUS $2,500 in "referral" work. Just for them to mess my mouth up. I attempted to resolve this issue with their regional manager 'Amanda', she informed me that monarch will take the proper steps to rectify the issue and get a well-fitting bridge in my mouth. But after she spoke with her PCP president, Dr. Brown, and Dr. Walker she was shut down and will no longer accept any of my calls. Now I have $8,000 worth of trash in my mouth that hurts, stinks, causes me to not properly close my mouth constantly biting my lip because I cannot functionally eat and all monarch dental wants to say is 'we did our job'. read more

We selected Monarch because we do not have dental insurance and their prices looked better on the front end. Although some of their techs are very kind, I have decided to take my family elsewhere because literally EVERY time I go, the doctor seems as though she is trying to make us feel bad because we do not come every 6 months. They talk as though our teeth are awful even though they aren't - and then they say that they are going to have to charge for a TON of things because our teeth are in such bad shape because we don't go often enough. We try to go once a year. We would like to go more frequently but that is all we can afford and I don't think they should spend an hour going on and on in what feels like an attempt to guilt us into coming more often. Well, it hasn't worked. Now we are just going to go elsewhere. You can give your advice, but once is enough. Then you just need to clean our teeth like you are being paid to do and be kind. If someone doesn't have dental insurance it is probably not because they don't care or don't want it but rather that they can't afford it. read more

I've been with Monarch on my orthodontist journey since 2016, I didn't find out until 2021 when my orthodontist retired and I receive a new one that my treatment with braces also needed two permanent teeth removed to close my bite . So now I have to pay for another treatment plan for an additional year as well as pay for 2 tooth extractions when this could've been done the first treatment plan. They also charge for the smallest things like constant scheduled consultations , just to give you the run around and an outrageous price when you demand action . My biggest regret! read more

First of all this review is for my husband Lago S. He visited your location Monday June 8th, 2015 and the experience was horrible. Once he finally made it back to see the Dentist is where it went downhill. The Doctor never introduced herself face to face so he never visual saw his doctor. The doctor came in behind him while he was in the chair which made it impossible for him to see her. She played a video for him, prescribe some mouthwash and told him to come back in two weeks. Then diagnose was for tater build up/calcium deposit buildup on gums. The Doctors wasn't discrete which she was violating the HPPA Law. My husband return home and call in to make an compliant the same day asking for another Doctor and the phone was given to the Doctor the saw him and she said it was probably best he saw someone else. I went there for a simple extraction. Dr. Had staff try and sign me up for care credit, I have dental insurance. Cost over 500.00 was quoted. I decided not to even though I was in pain and my insurance told me it was covered service anyway. I went the next day to a private dentist in Desoto Tx, and the extraction with exam and Xrays out of pocket for me 78.00. The dentist and her staff stood behind me as I left and giggled like school children. She told me I was an add on even though I sched the appointment 1 or 2 days in advance. I told her no I had an appointment and she seem to be offended that I said that. I was not rude just thought possibly she was misinformed. I'm almost 50 years old and have been receiving routine dental care my entire life, and can emphatically say that this was the worst dental experience I've ever had. I went in for a routine cleaning as a new patient, not knowing that I would only be getting an exam and a "plan" for cleaning my teeth. Then it took forever to get an appointment to get back in. The hygienist was extremely heavy handed, often digging into my gums inappropriately during the exam as well as the cleaning. The cleaning itself was hands down the fastest and sloppiest I've ever had, and my teeth did not feel as clean as on previous exams with other hygienists. Needless to say, I will not be back and I do not recommend the Cedar Hill location to anyone. read more

I'm in the process of contacting the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners regarding this facility. On January 10, 2017 I went in for my bi annual checkup and cleaning. This was my first dental visit in DFW, as I had just moved back from Austin. They said I needed a "deep cleaning" which shocked me since I'm diligent in my dental visits and just had a cleaning a few months prior with no issues. The dentist did not do an adequate job in inspecting my teeth, she simply looked at the x rays. I've had many checkups before where the dentist actually goes tooth by tooth and inspects them. She missed a possible root canal and did not even do a standard root canal test, the one where they use liquid nitrogen I believe to test for sensitivity. This facility charged me an exorbitant fee and did not adequately meet my needs. read more

The customer service level at this location is horrible!!! When your a new patient and inquiring about services they are nice after you have become a patient and paid your money they are inpolite via telephone and in person. My first visit for orthodontist services was great because they wanted my money. I paid for the whole treatment plan upfront at my first visit. The orthodontist is always late, they overbook patients and you are sitting in the waiting room for 45mibs to an hour waiting to be seen with no empathy from staff at all. I went to this Dentist office and had a tooth pulled, great. So I went back a week later because I lost antibiotics.... So I get there and there is this new Dentist and I tell her I lost antibiotics before completing them. So she is looking at my x ray basic trying to back track and trash my old doctor notes and instructions, telling me why does she have this tooth labeled as (some number code) that's not what that is. So she looking in my mouth and asked me why do you have so much plaque on your teeth( Ok I'm here to try to correct the issue, but still fucking rude) So then she starts digging at the tooth she said my old doctor labeled wrong and I'm saying stop by mumbling because she is in my mouth. Hitting the side of the seat and saying stop because she is digging that deep, she breaks my tooth. OK so I'm super pissed at this time because I came in for a refill on medication and because she wanted to make my old doctor seem like she didn't know what she was doing now I'm with a broken tooth. So I have complained and the office manager MARIO was Very nonchalant and rude. Mario did very little for my end sorry correction nothing, not even a phone call back. I was then told by Mario there was nothing he could do for me because I knew my tooth condition when I came in.
