Recently I went through this with Monarch: Rude and bullying management: see examples Resistance to asking good and standard questions about the product. (see examples below) Overly white meat (what is in it?), it looks full of lard, although I'm sure it is not. Example: upon asking the owner what the estimated ratio of muscle/bone/organ meat is in the meat, he explodes with anger and a lecture. I am glad to hear his side of things, this is why I asked, but I will not be bullied or demeaned. Example: When shopping for bones for my dogs to eat, plus making bone broth owner/manager escalated that these are not for human consumption. I said, "OK, can I get the bones I wanted for my dogs then?" His response accused me of lying and intending to make bone broth from the other part of my order: 2 bags of chicken feet and one bag of misc.: Softer bones that are safer and easier on my dog's teeth. I left with him and myself, saying we will ever do business with each other again. We both meant it, but it didn't have to end that way. I don't know if this guy is racist, sexist, or just toxic and angry with everybody, but I will not be treated this way just because I want cheap meat. Our baby LOVES MONARCH!!!! My Sheepadoodle has been on Monarch since he was a puppy. He will turn 4 years old in May and to say he is thriving would be an understatement! No vet visits with the exception of his regular vaccines (which I'm beginning to feel like is a total hoax and waste of money) no dietary issues. This stuff is magic! After reading some of the comments about the owner, Ben I felt like he needed a bit of back up. People are so quick to judge. I've been buying this food from him for the last four years and he's been nothing but kind and resourceful about his product that he absolutely loves and believes in. The jury's still out....our 3 yr old Mastiff is still on his first month of Monarch. He likes it and we've had no issues but I have a couple concerns. (He previously was on a different commercial raw diet). Nothing wrong with chicken but human Carnivores know beef (or any ruminant animal meat) is the most nutrient dense. The same goes for organs such as liver and kidney, which this food doesn't include. Hearts is old to but ver has the most vitamins A, D, and K of any food. I don't love it myself but have a little occasionally for the nutrients. So we'll see..... read more

If I could give a 0 stars I would. I've been ordering from the business for months and have never had a problem until today. I ordered a 100 lbs of dog food and was scheduled to pick it up at 2. Every other time that I have ordered Ben has sent me a text message with an arrival time, today I never received one. While I do admit I was late, I arrived at 2:05, he was already gone or had never stopped. I sent a text to see if he was coming with no response. I then called him at 2:19, at which point he informed that he had stayed at the location until 2:15, which is a lie since I had been there since 2:05. He than began to tell me it's always at 2pm, which is another lie, since there's been days that he's been there around 1:45 and other days where I've waited until 2:20 for him. I then asked him I could meet him because I really needed dog food. He informed me he was already through Riverside on his was back to Beaumont. This means he had made it out the parking lot, through multiple stop lights and about 10 miles away in 4 minutes, with a trailer, that's impeccable timing. This man claims beliefs and yet he lies and lied to me about five times in our conversation. I have been recommending multiple people. I will never recommend this business again and I will not be buying my monthly 100 lbs from them again. The worst part about it was how rude he was. My puppy is severely allergic to almost everything and relies on this food will no longer be getting it. It just shows he's in it for the money and all the boosting on his website about caring for animals is crap. While I know they really won't care about this review. We've been feeding both of our Golden Retriever's Monarch for over a year. They used to be on Royal Canine and our older Golden would get GI distress from it. Since we switched to raw diet both of our Goldens are thriving. They have more energy their coats are glistening and best of all vet visits are down. My dog eats a completely raw and balanced diet and is the image of health. They get regular checkups from the vet and the vet is always very impressed and complimentary of my handling of my dog's health. I saw this stand at a farmers market and decided to check to see if it would be cheaper than the food I currently feed my pet as I had heard about this brand in the raw food co-op I'm part of. (It's not cheaper than what I feed my dog and even if it were, I'd rather spend more per month than patronize this jerk). Upon meeting the man running the stand, offering no information about what I feed my dog, he immediately jumps down my throat insinuating that I'm not feeding my dog properly and that everything I've read about dog health and feeding is a lie. He was talking to me as if he was angry with me. It was so left field. Again, I offered no info whatsoever on where I've learned about pet food or what I feed my dog. I only said that I already feed her raw. He literally raised his voice at me and was giving me a lecture on raw feeding. I don't care how good his product is, his selling tactics are absolute crap. He's clearly built a customer base off of fear mongering and bullying dog owners into submission. He told me that his product was the best in the business and said that he's researched "all his competitors" and yet when I finally told him the brand of raw food I feed my dog, he hadn't heard of it. This guy just oozes toxic dudebro energy and it felt borderline sexist the way he was speaking to me. He wouldn't let me get a word in and just outright assumed that I was some idiot who hasn't done extensive research on what I feed my dog. We have used Monarch Raw Pet Food for almost a year and our dog LOVES it! She used to be a pretty picky eater and would sometimes refuse food when traveling but not with this. If I am 5 minutes off schedule feeding her, she lets me know! Other than the fact that she loves it, it really has helped her digestion. Even on "quality" (read expensive) commercial dog food, she had inconsistent issues with processing it through her digestive tract. At first I thought I wasn't feeding her enough (even she looked at me like WTHeck? More please) but she has maintained a healthy consistent weight and is very active. Underrated Company. This food has literally saved my dog's life. He's 12 years old, and had gotten picky, ever since i got him from when he was homeless I've fed him the most natural, and smallest ingredient list dog food i could find. He'd eat the food for a few days then, onto the next. His health was quickly declining, he'd lost his happiness and energy, and started to pick at his back and his paw, and was purposefully hurting himself, i feared that this may be the end, and frantically searching for a solution to his depression and eating disorder. I took a trip to the farmer's market one Thursday with my wife just to get me and my son a bite to eat, when i ran into Monarch Raw Pet Food. I ended up going home with a bag thinking "screw it, it's worth a shot" i was dumbfounded thinking "just feed it to him like this?!" An unheard concept, and i looked over the pamphlet once more and yep, just like that. So i went ahead and fed him it for the first time and he nearly inhaled it, and has continued to do so for months on end now. He stopped picking at himself and his back has healed, his fur is much softer, he's very happy and very energetic(in between 2-3 naps a day) and has never been this happy since i got him. He's got a little muscle mass and his bone density in his ribs has filled out, and his heartbeat has become much stronger since then, since at his old age he has a small heart murmur. He loves to play and walk around with me. This is such a simple concept that ended up being a wonder food honestly, and i would(and have) recommended this company to anyone who has dogs with my story, and i recommend this to anyone reading this review as well, especially if your furry friend is up there in years, can't go wrong. read more
