My car registered a serious problem, one of my tires was down to 10%. I had only days to get to my new apartment and deposit the funds or I was in jeopardy of losing the unit. It was a late on a Sunday, so everything, EVERYTHING was either closed or closing. Somehow I found these guys who were the ONLY ones open, but I was 3 hours west of them. These great guys waited 3 hours, 3 HOURS for me to get there, in the pouring rain. I can not begin to measure my thanks to them. I would NOT have made the trip without them. Not only did they wait patiently, swapped my tires in no time flat, like 5 min, but they got me THE RIGHT TIRES. Thus pointing out how back in CA everyone had been giving me the wrong sized tires. The best, most polite, caring individuals I met on the entire trip. I cannot say enough good things about them. And they took 5 bucks off the cost of the tire, EVEN after waiting. Everyone, and I mean everyone, should be this professional. Shame I am never in that area, but if you are, this is the ONLY place to go for car maintenance. They do the job quick, and do the job right. I thank them both again for saving my trip. Now I compare everyone to them, 2 guys from Haiti. They made me proud and treated me better than anyone, and I mean anyone, I have ever gone to. If I am ever in the area, AMC New & Used tires is the ONLY CHOICE. Went through a few shops and finally found this place! Most of the workers only spoke Spanish except for the boss and his brother who spoke fairly good English. Was able to ask them a few things using my broken Spanish. They were extremely helpful and did try to match and find my tyre size to replace for a very minimal cost. However unfortunately they did not carry the size of the performance tyre on my particular vehicle. They did not charge me for refilling the air up, the diagnostic fees, nor try to upsell me anything so I can slowly drive back to the West. Of note, a few of the workers here do smoke though so if you don't, just try to keep distance. Overall this is an awesome, friendly shop, and would come back again given the chance. Brought the car in and when I left the vehicle was shaking. Took the car back and they added more weight instead of diagnosing the problem. Took the vehicle to another shop because I no longer trusted them. Tht shop fixed the issue and I also had to got get another lugnut because they stripped the head. Long story short this shop does basic balancing do not go there expecting quality work. A balance and rotate cost me 255 bucks. I am not happy.

See attached image!…read more Back in June I finally decided it was time to fix my cars AC, this was a long time coming because I figured it would be a large expense. I STUPIDLY trusted an even stupider family member, who refereed me to this "auto shop" for repair. I went in for service on June 11th, paid $390 to refill my AC, and replace a part they claimed was "necessary" .. they told me if I had any further issues they had put in a product that would provide more information as to if I had a leak/ where it was leaking. Fast forward 2 DAYS.. I get in my car, no more cold air ... AGAIN. Not even 48 hours later. I immediately called and asked what the next steps were as it hadn't even been 2 full days yet, and they instructed me to bring it back in so they could check for the leak they had mentioned previously, on the phone I mentioned I was on shift for next 5 days so it wouldn't be until then that I could bring it back in. I was not able to make it back in until the 18th. After I brought it back within an hour they "diagnosed" my car as needing a new compressor. Parts, labor, AND ANOTHER AC RECHARGE WITH FREON..You know what I had just paid for that didn't even last 48 hours!! The estimate totaling $1,069.00 for everything. OBVIOUSLY this was very upsetting, so I went back into the shop to try to negotiate with them in some way. After seemingly arguing with Jose for 45 minutes he agreed to waive my refilling fee but let me know he was doing me a HUGE favor. HA! My personal favorite part was them hearing me argue with the gentlemen, to then bring out a female who tried to "better explain it to me". She utilized scare tactics to try to convince me to have the work done, as soon as possible, because "the tariffs will significantly increase the price of everything once that starts kicking in" .... Thank God I have some kind of sense in me, and figured it was at least worth a second opinion from elsewhere. HAHAHA BUCKLE UP!!! I had a much more intelligent friend then recommend me to another mechanic shop in SA. I took it in, and this time within a few hours, I got this response. " Hey soooo I'm not sure what that place did, but I have never seen auto work like that in MY LIFE " There were wires not connected to anything, wires connected incorrectly, I've genuinely just never seen anything like it..... SO I went back connected everything the way it should be and NOW YOUR AC IS WORKING PERFECTLY. I don't even feel right charging you for it, since the work was NEVER COMPLETED CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME" IM SORRY WHAT!!? In the end the lovely real mechanic only charged me for the refilling of the AC with the Freon and we called it a day. Since then now 3 MONTHS LATER, my AC has continued to stay in IMPECCABLE condition, ice cold, no issues whatsoever. ZERO complaints. In NO way do I feel like this was not a HUGE SCAM, and grab for money.. trying to replace unnecessary things, as this company knew I am a female, with no automotive knowledge. 1000000% taking advantage of an unknowing victim. Please I urge you, if you utilize this company in any way shape or form, first off DONT, but if you must, before going through with it.. do yourself a favor and seek a second opinion. Could be the difference in over a GRAND. DO BETTER CD AUTOMOTIVE !!!!!! Truly DESPICABLE. I hope we leaned our lesson to stop attempting to take advantage of customers, but after actually reading reviews (like I should have done the first time) that seems to be a pretty common occurrence and trend as to how you do "business". I drive by this shop all the time and they're always very busy so they must be good, right? I figured I would give them a try. I purchased my brake pads at OReilly's next door for the front and rear brakes. I took the car to SHM and the workers were all very friendly. I paid $40 for the rear and front brakes to be replaced and the job took a little over an hour to do. All in all I was very satisfied with the results and the customer service provided. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
