I've come to Mondo multiple times with my family and really enjoyed it! There's a bar area with plenty of TVs and a separate dining room in the next room. Parking is free and plentiful. They offer complementary sourdough bread with oil and vinegar while waiting on your meal. The environment is very relaxed and calm and the decor is very modern. I've ordered a number of dishes but my favorite is the Mondo Chicken. The dish includes chicken, pasta, sun dried tomatoes, prosciutto, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and crispy capers in a white wine butter sauce. It's as good as it sounds!! I've also had the eggplant parmigiana and Chicken Piccata which were good as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice meal out. If you're a bigger party, I'd recommend making a reservation. I look forward to coming back soon! read more

We came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. They had just opened, but there were a handful of parties in the left side of the restaurant. We were seated in the right side and had the large room to ourselves. The ceilings are high. The issue was the music they were playing had a lot of inappropriate content including profanity. Maybe it was too loud since we were the only ones in the room, but we had our kids with us and it was not family-friendly. I asked them to switch it, which then they turned it completely off, but then it came back on again 10 minutes later. It was awkward without the music. The menu was great, had a lot of good and unique options. We started with the garlic knots and they were okay, not as soft as I would normally like. I went with the angel hair pasta and it was good. It was a large portion and the sauce was on the lighter side, which I like since it didn't make me feel drowsy afterwards. Our server was not that responsive, given that we were one of few parties in the entire restaurant. We saw a few people picking up orders while we dined in, so may be a good option for that as well. read more

This was the first visit to this restaurant. The restaurant was recommended by some close friends. The establishment wasn't packed and we were seated immediately. The wide range of appetizers started the night off right. The sausage and peppers was delicious. They were just like how i remembered growing up in NY. Not too many places can get this right - Mondo did. Yumm! I then moved onto the entrees- Carbonara- which also was delicious. I will definitely be returning to taste many more of the appetizers and entrees. We went there for the first time this evening...purely based on previous reviews. Very unassuming store- front restaurant in a small strip mall. Very very casual - no pretense at ambience here. Owners very involved and wanting to make sure everything was ok. Waitress was new and lacking in knowledge of the menu and, really in Italian food - but she was pleasant enough - just needs to learn waitressing. A suprise in a little complex in Alpharetta. Has both bar counter and a seperate dining area as well. Nice ambience. They take a long time to serve the food, like atleast 30 mins for us. We have ordered the Arancini - Not the best i have had, they were fried way too much. Marsala chicken - Perfect, this was delicious. No soft drinks, atleast didn't see on the menu. Prices are $$. We picked up some takeout from Mondo and had a good experience. We started with the Eggplant stack, which is fantastic. It is layers of fried eggplant, goat cheese, and marinara sauce. I would definitely order that again. For entrees, we had the bowtie a la vodka and the Mondo chicken. Both dishes had great flavor and were a good portion. Our only issue was that the pasta in both dishes was overcooked. Maybe it's because we got it to go? Anyway we were happy with the food and look forward to dining in sometime in the future. I debated between Italian Ramen and Mondo Chicken but ended up getting Mondo Chicken because it had Mondo in the name figured that if it bears the store's name, it should be good, and my friend got Carbonara. Then I ordered the Zoodle dish with veggies as my main course and my husband had the Veal Saltimbocca. Both were absolutely delicious! We both had a cannoli for dessert. We walked in, and there was nobody at the host stand. So, we waited. And waited. And waited. A man and his son came in behind us, and finally, we were seated in the regular dining room. The bar was full, and the man and son were seated, and greeted, immediately, because they sat at the small tables at the bar area. We, in the back, were completely ignored. We weren't greeted, never got our drinks, never placed our order. We walked out, and we won't be going back. This seems to happen every time we go there. The main dining room seems to always be empty, or nearly empty, yet the service is just plain horrible. I don't recommend going here, especially since definitely not cheap. read more

Just went here for the first time this past weekend with some friends. They both had the Grouper special which they enjoyed very much. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi and the Shrimp were cooked perfectly for her. I got the Chicken Parmesan dinner and it was really good. Chicken cooked just rite and the breading was on point. I also liked that it wasn't swimming in sauce, there was just enough. The prices are very reasonable for what we had and portions are good size. My wife couldn't even finish hers! Ordered a glass of wine. Wine had oxidized. Guessing the bottle had been open for some time. Sent it back. Couldn't drink it. Had two mediocre salads before.
