Mondo Chicken
Jen L.

I've come to Mondo multiple times with my family and really enjoyed it! There's a bar area with plenty of TVs and a separate dining room in the next room. Parking is free and plentiful. They offer complementary sourdough bread with oil and vinegar while waiting on your meal. The environment is very relaxed and calm and the decor is very modern. I've ordered a number of dishes but my favorite is the Mondo Chicken. The dish includes chicken, pasta, sun dried tomatoes, prosciutto, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and crispy capers in a white wine butter sauce. It's as good as it sounds!! I've also had the eggplant parmigiana and Chicken Piccata which were good as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice meal out. If you're a bigger party, I'd recommend making a reservation. I look forward to coming back soon!

A suprise in a little complex in Alpharetta. Has both bar counter and a seperate dining area as well. Nice ambience. They take a long time to serve the food, like atleast 30 mins for us. We have ordered the Arancini - Not the best i have had, they were fried way too much. Marsala chicken - Perfect, this was delicious. No soft drinks, atleast didn't see on the menu. Prices are $$. Decent service. A good place for italian food but waits are longer.

We ordered takeout for dinner and it was fast, the process was easy and the food quality was amazing. I've eaten many times in Italy and have a taste for authentic and delicious Italian flavors. This was first time ordering from Mondo and I don't think anyone can touch their pasta options in the area. Super impressed and I'll be back!!

Everyone we've had since has been just as good. They're friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and somehow able to memorize a huge list of specials. They really make us feel like part of the family. The Escargots Casa Nuova is our favorite appetizer. The garlic butter is delicious and perfect for dipping the bread in. I had never had anything like the Cannelloni Florentina before, but it was very tasty. It's a smaller dish, but it packs a punch! The Tortellini in Champagne Sauce was so good that I cleaned the plate. I also really like the decor. It has an Italian home feel, with paintings, flowers, wine, and knickknacks everywhere (and apparently a lot of local history). Casa Nuova is a little further of a drive for us, but it's one of the best Italian places I've found in the area. I'm looking forward to bringing more family here.

Three of us visited Casa Nuova on a Friday night--my wife, daughter, and me…read more I don't typically write glowing reviews, nor is this my first visit to a good Italian restaurant. But this experience was genuinely special. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, everything exceeded expectations. Despite a packed dining room, the staff delivered a level of attentiveness that felt effortless. Our server had an incredible command of the menu, rattling off a lengthy list of specials from memory with impressive detail. The entire team worked in sync--bringing bread, refilling drinks, offering fresh grated cheese, clearing plates without rushing us, and striking just the right balance of friendliness and professionalism. What really set the evening apart were the personal touches. The matriarch of the restaurant (or at least who I assume was the matriarch) circulated through the dining room making sure guests were enjoying themselves. At one point she proudly announced that the osso buco was ready--a charming moment that felt less like a sales pitch and more like someone sharing something they genuinely loved. Before we left, she gave my wife and daughter sunflowers from her garden, carefully prepared with the leaves removed and stems wrapped in foil. Then she sent us home with fresh zucchini. Along with everything else, these folks have figured out how to make dining personal. It felt less like eating in a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's lovely home--where there is genuine pride and gratitude that you've joined them for dinner. That's a rare feeling today, and Casa Nuova delivers it naturally. And then there's the food. The Oysters Rockefeller were outstanding. The fried mozzarella was exceptional. The Pesce Fra Diavola--with clams, mussels, calamari, and scallops--was perfectly prepared and served in a sauce that complemented rather than overwhelmed the seafood. The veal scallopini was tender, beautifully seasoned, and expertly sauced. Even our daughter's simple pasta dish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Honestly, I'm almost afraid to go back because I don't know how they could possibly do better. Casa Nuova delivered one of the most memorable restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. My sincere thanks to everyone at Casa Nuova for such a lovely evening. You made my wife, daughter, and me feel genuinely welcome, and we left with full stomachs, smiles on our faces, and an experience we'll remember for a long time.

My husband and I have visited this place many times and have tried multiple items off the menu. On this visit we shared a salad and appetizer and each had our own "main course." We shared a small Greek Salad which was quite large if you ask me. The flavor on this salad is what I will ramble on about to anyone that wants to hear about where they can get an authentic salad of this caliber. We also shared the Spinach and Artichoke dip which was really yummy and very creamy. The only complaint from my bfs side was the prosciutto was stringier than he'd want, but he didn't spare a single bite so that says it all to me. Not too light though - any lighter and I might have asked for more seasoning. I enjoyed the flavors of the Tagliolini Bolognese. It was hearty, savory and I could see it being a comfort food me if I were a local. I would have liked the pasta to be on the Al dente side but it wasn't mushy to the point that there wasn't any chew. Also enjoyed the dessert. Great way to cap the meal. Really enjoyed the experience there overall. Sitting at the bar, not loud - kinda intimate. Maybe 10 seats. Beer, wine and spirits. Also a happy hour to finish out a work day. I couldn't decide what I wanted for a glass of wine and they offered to bring me glasses to sample. I love this-- I saw them offer same service to another table close by. We split the Caesar and they were kind enough to diving between two bowls. The only other place that does this for us is Cibo e Beve. The focaccia was wonderful with large flakes of salt on top and went great with their olive oil. We are truly picky Caesar eaters and this one had freshly shaved Parmesan and obvious homemade croutons. Pasta was fabulous for both of us. Would we dine here again? Lots of options for those who love the fishery part of the concept and just as many choices for those that don't. We ordered the bruschetta and enjoyed their take that used fig jam, prosciutto and balsamic glaze instead of the more traditional tomato base. They have house made focaccia that when brought to the table we instantly regretted having ordered the bruschetta, thinking we overdid the bread thing. But we both quickly changed our minds and consumed both with little guilt... I would go back just for the focaccia alone and wish they sold it by the loaf! Pastas are made onsite but they get the gluten free version from a different supplier to avoid risk of cross contamination. Hubby had the wild boar pasta. I had the pork chop. My chop was perfectly grilled and moist. I asked for the marsala sauce on the side since I don't like mushrooms themselves, but enjoy the flavor they can add. The weakest link was the mashed potatoes, served in two round scoops reminiscent of school cafeteria lines. Other than the shape, there was nothing memorable nor particularly flavorful about them. Next time I would try a different side and keep the chop. We didn't save room for dessert this time but will definitely get some next time. And there will definitely be a next time. We opted to sit at the bar which I do NOT recommend if you plan on eating. It is extremely tight seating and the bartenders aren't not trained to serve food or have menu knowledge. The lack of the kitchen staff culinary skills became evident when looking at the menu with many seafood/pasta items being served with one sauce- a goopy cornstarch'ish lemon butter sauce. We wanted to try the scampi appetizer with their house made pasta - sans dairy which meant no lemon butter sauce. That seemed to throw a wrench and there was much back and forth between the BT to the kitchen explaining what that meant aka do not cook the food with butter use olive oil- not so complicated, right? 30 minutes later - despite the kitchen staff not being busy- reminder, we are sitting at the bar and watch the cooks looking at their cellphones instead of working... The small portion of a couple shrimp and scallops arrive. They were panned seared- highly seasoned but tasty. Pasta arrived dry ? Huh? Who serves dry pasta- ugh? I asked for olive oil again which never appeared despite a manager hearing the request. So, moving along, we decided to try the calamari. It came out much faster but the portion was enough for 8-10 people. BT- oh, I forgot to tell you it is such a large portion... Maybe offer a half portion? It was okay- nothing amazing except the quantity. So disappointed- we had high hopes that the vibe matched the food quality.
