Chicken Banh Mi: $14.95 ($16.28 with tax)
    Harris L.

We visited Money Cat Vietnamese American for a quick lunch, and ordered: - Curry Pho, with chicken: $16.95 ($18.49 with tax). Tasted like a watered-down Thai Khao Soi. The dish could use more noodles, but had an ample amount of protein. - Chicken Banh Mi: $14.95 ($16.28 with tax). The bread was burnt along the entire edge of the sandwich, but otherwise had a good crisp and crunch. The sandwich was moist due to an excess of Sriracha sauce. Other: - There are no paper menus. One must scan the QR code on each table on one's smartphone to view the menu, or to order online. One may optionally order through the wait staff. - There is complimentary water. - Suggested tips are based on post-tax subtotals and start at 18%.

The ambience is fun and hip; I thought the drinks were interesting as they lit up. I will say it separated the ice and the drink and I didn't have a way to mix them together. The vermicelli bowl had really nice el dente texture noodles but I had to add extra fish sauce to get more flavor. I did enjoy the brisket banh mi a lot though -- the brisket was quite tender. Food came out quick, but would prefer a formal menu instead of a QR code one. The place is a bit expensive so not sure if I'd go again!

Came here on a whim on a weeknight - was promptly seated. It's doable when you need a quick fix but not the best Vietnamese food I've had and there are plenty of options in NYC. I probably won't come here again.

more of a 3.7 star place for me. I enjoyed the long lumpia looking spring rollfillings but the lettuce was soggy at the bottom of it instead of having them off the side. Fish sauce was good tho 5/5. Chicken banh mi was just ok lots of sauce dripping nd not too much veggies i wanted more jalapeños tbh. The chicken tasted a bit off but i fought thru it with the help of sauce. I enjoyed the availability to make the baguette extra crispy lol the soup is good; deep and dark it was nice and hot, but wish it was lighter We like light pho w customizable sauce add in or bean sprouts over here on our side. I liked the ice coffee ice cubes! theyre crunchy and small like a topping.

This place is overpriced for dishes and drinks that skimp on portions. The thai iced tea was 3/4 ice and the banh mi was mostly vegetables and no protein. Also the music is really loud hyperpop, a bit strange. The decorations and lighting are really cool though. Overall; this restaurant seems to care about aesthetic a lot more than actual quality

I came here on a Friday night to grab some dinner with a friend. The whole place is lit up by the red lights from the lanterns which gives the entire restaurant a fun glow. The staff was also really friendly - my friend was running kind of late and they let me wait inside! I got the coconut curry pho, which I thought tasted interesting to say the least. It was interesting to see them blend together two cuisines like that, although I must admit personally I like my pho tasting more like the typical vietnamese pho (perhaps my fault for ordering that). Overall food was good but not mind blowing to me.

What a cute restaurant name! And the interior design to match. Some friends and I came here for dinner in between comedy shows, and I was actually super impressed by how good the food was. I got the Chinese Sausage Vermicelli Bowl but would love to try the pho next time. I rarely see vermicelli bowls with Chinese sausage, which is why it caught my eye on the menu. The sausage was cooked perfectly (can't really mess that up) and the balance of other ingredients, flavors, and textures was mouth-watering... especially their house made fish sauce! Reading other reviews, I clearly missed out on some of the other wonderful parts of Money Cat, like the Vietnamese iced coffee. Service was great. Normally I only go to a Vietnamese restaurant to satisfy my pho craving, but every detail about this place left me happier than when I first walked in.

I lived nearby for a few years and always lamented about how there was not nearly enough phở options in Bushwick. I've been wanting to come here since they first began construction well over a year and change ago and finally got a chance to try them the other day when I found myself back in town. Once you walk into the restaurant, you instantly feel about 10 points cooler, no seriously it's true! I guess that would put me at a 10... but anyhow the vibe here is super hip, fun, and just all around different than the norm. You can tell that the owners and management had a lot of fun putting the place together and showcasing their personality and style. From the elementary school chairs to the picnic style tables to the rotating barber shop and a ton more, everything seems so perfectly reclaimed and repurposed. As for the food... wow. I ordered the The Money Pho, which had both sliced smoked brisket and rare beef. It was served in a delicious broth and filled to the brim with vermicelli rice noodles, bean sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, Thai basil, Thai chilis, cilantro, mint, fried garlic chips, and of course, some lime. The portions were huge and the meat was so tender that it soaked up all delicious flavors, making each bite seemingly better than the last. I was in the company of friends but had I dined alone, I would have surely slipped down my bowl. Not even kidding. Come with a date, come with friends, come with your parents or heck even come solo.

The vibe of the restaurant was very cozy and welcoming. The owners (and their cutie baby) were present the entire time to make sure everything went off smoothly and was enjoyable. We were started off with veggie and pork spring rolls and summer rolls. I don't eat pork but, thought the veggie spring roll was delightful. The summer roll was light and refreshing and had a hint of sweetness from the mango. I ordered the lemongrass chicken banh-mi and thought it was a big portion and very tasty. I wish they didn't included the tough parts of the cilantro stems and be careful when chewing as I did come across a piece of bone. I washed down my delicious meal with an ice cold Coke. The affogato was delicious and it was my first time having it. I drank the coffee first and then ate the ice cream. I didn't realize I was supposed to eat them in tandem. I still thought it was tasty and thought the condensed milk was a delicious touch.

Definitely their own take on a Banh Mi , it's slow cooked pork instead of grilled/bbq and they use homemade sauces. The sandwich looked great, but was so salty it was hard to eat. Great ambience and loved the tiger beer option. Wish the sandwich tasted as good as it looked!

The service was okay - it was obvious the server was brand new/still in training so I'm sure he'll get better and congrats to him on the new job! Btw, in case you were wondering this place is NOT Vietnamese-owned, or at least the server + the host + some workers in the back were not, or perhaps they're trilingual. In any case, I was a little sad about that because there really is a lack of good Viet food in NY so although other ethnicities are more than welcome to own places not of their own ethnicities, I was just hoping to find more Viet-owned Viet food businesses. That being said, I got pho bo vien (which I suppose now I know why there's no Vietnamese text on the menu... so this is the viet meatball pho??) and it was okay. Nothing bad, nothing special, probably a bit too pricey for what you get. I was hoping for some comfort food since this location is nearby. The broth was overall fine after adding some hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Unsure if I'll come again... the convenient location for me is probably the main selling point
