We made reservations for a unit here. When we went to check it out, we found that Money Saver Mini Storage is in a very isolated location. Security is obviously an important issue when you're leaving your valuables unattended, and the staff is only there until 6 pm. To locate the business in an area where someone could easily break in and get away without being noticed... that wasn't a risk I was willing to take. Furthermore, it's across the street from a pot dispensary. So the people that ARE around... um, yeah. I'm sure it makes me look old-fashioned, but I'm not going to risk my stuff. The address is in Kirkland but it's right on the furthest point before it turns into Woodinville. I canceled the reservation and went with Public Storage in Bellevue instead - which was the exact same price for the same space. read more

Recently rented a unit at the facility. The person onsite that day was very nice and very helpful. Walked me through the entire facility and showed several units. Only unconditioned spaces were available, which wasn't what I preferred but hey... The facility itself is fine. Not top of the line, but the cost is very reasonable. Popped in yesterday to look at and rent a 5x5 unit. Trevor was professional and on top of things. The facilities were some of the cleanest I've seen for a storage unit. Ok, I read some of the reviews on here...here's the deal: everything is a matter of perspective...management has changed over the years, but Sue is still there and she is a wonderful person. They key to making any business successful is the people and their attitude. Money Saver Mini Storage has done incredibly well to accommodate my storage needs. The first and biggest and most important point are their prices...I currently only pay $72 a month for a 5x10 unit with a relatively high ceiling to store. Now where are you going to get that price in Kirkland? The place is clean. There are heated areas and non-heated areas...the non-heated areas are less expensive, so people have a choice. But, even the non-heated areas may not much different in heat (depending on where a unit is)....and they leave the doors open between both areas, so some of the heat could flow in. The security system is superior to Public Storage, which I had previously been at. If you have to store stuff why does it have to be like a 5 Start Hotel? Actually, this place doesn't look much different than Public Storage. Sure, the lighting could be a little brighter, but you can still see your stuff fine. The best thing to do is to go there in person and see what you are getting for your money. And, when you realize all of the money you are saving for getting a quality and beautiful unit, you will be sold. Not even Public Storage has a free truck to use in order to move your stuff in (with free gas for 10 miles). They can discount your initial month by 50%. And, as far as late fees? Compare them to Public Storage and you will hang on to a lot of your money. There is a 6 day grace period with no fee until after that. If you need more time to pay, the fees make it very affordable to "buy some time." Hands down all around you will love the service, attitude and most of all the prices! read more

Current and soon to be former tenant for almost 8 years now; horrible place for long-term storage due to dust, rats, birds, and lack of heating. The sign states "heated storage", but that's a joke unless its below 50'F, and the amount of dust from the local sod farm, teamed with the rats and birds that infest the place requires a dust mask when accessing your unit(s), besides gloves because fo the amount of dirt. The smell of the place, damp and rank from the cheap construction (you can see daylight on the 3rd floor everywhere), the horribly cheap low light fixtures (you'll go blind due to lack of lighting), and can I keep saying rats and bird infestations have ruined a lot of my clothes that were stored in sealed boxes. Don't give notice and then try and extend it, they jack up your rent to milk out everything they can before you leave! My rent went up without notice when I gave notice on a unit, planning to keep at least one, but not anymore! Be prepared for the following; lots of dust, dampness, lack of lighting, rats and field mice, dirty floors and elevator, property managers who have zero power or compassion, and the property owner who will try and get everything from you they can. There are far better, cleaner, valued places out there than this, so please review your options wisely; or just sell/give away your stuff and unload the baggage if you think long-term. read more

They have a truck rental when you move in...That is, if they actually write your name down in the book. We went to pick the truck up that we had reserved the week prior, and they told me it was out and they had no record of my ever having reserved it to rent. The owner's wife told me there was nothing she could do, and that maybe I was confused. Her exact words. They told me that they do auto-billing. So they auto-billed my first and second months rent, but not the 3rd. When I called them to see why, they said there was no record that I had authorized them to auto-bill me and I would be charged a late fee. Why then, did they auto-bill me for 2 months? The owner's wife treated me very disrespectfully and rudely. She told me she would "see" if she could remove the charge, "but probably not". When I told her that the late fee was not my fault and if it wasn't removed, I would call back, she said "whatever", with more attitude than I've heard from a 12-year-old. I will be moving my stuff out as soon as humanly possible. This place is extremely nice to you until you disagree with their business practices. read more

Money savor storage is definitely a great bang for your buck. They are already less then the local competition but they offered a sign up incentive on top of there great rates. The facility is as clean as a storage facility can be expected to be. It would be nice to have a light in the individual units but hey can't argue for the deal. I would recommend them to anybody looking. read more

The new management here is great. I had a wonderful experience. Moving is never fun, but with the free truck for four hours this really made my move easier. There was a problem with the lights the day I moved in but has since been fixed. They are also the best rate in the area with a move in discount. read more

I loved this storage facility! The manager was very nice and helpful. She made the process quick and easy. The units were pretty good and very secure. Also the truck rental. What an amazing deal. I recently went through a very prolonged and stressful move. I had all my belongings stored in two storage spaces located at a leading national storage company. Many of my things were damaged and there was unwanted water in both spaces. The experience of dealing with that company was traumatic at best. In the middle of my move I discovered that all my stuff was not going to fit into the new home I was renting. Fortunately, I found Money Saver Mini Storage located in Kirkland. The contrast between this facility, the people who manage it, and the one I had been using could not have been more extreme. Kathy and Terry, who live on site, and another person named Sue were all so helpful and went way beyond what I would have expected from any storage business. They went so far out of their way for me. Terry, Kathy and Sue have all made my move so much more positive than it had ben prior to my discovering their facility. They have a truck that is available for people who use their facility to use. I did not have to use the truck yet but know it is available if I have to move some of my larger things before my next complete move. The storage spaces are all inside the building and are individually alarmed. I noticed that the building was very well maintained and was exceptionally clean. It is such a relief to have my things stored here and to not have to deal with people who just don't care about any form of customer service. I feel that I really lucked out when I found Money Saver Mini Storage. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who cares about the things they store. read more

The first month that you rent from these folks they pro-rate your rent. After that you are on your own and rent must be paid on the 1st of the month. I personally get paid on the 5th and the 20th and financially paying on the 1st doesn't really work for me. There is no work around for that. Rent must be paid on the first or you're stuck with a $15.00 late fee. There is no grace period. They will not call you, they don't send a bill. So in the midst of a big move, cancer treatment, and relocating I requested "grace" since I didn't pay my February payment on the 1st. "Sue" gave me a number of excuses as to why there is no grace extended for late payments. My first month renting from them was January '13 - it's February for goodness sake! Not all of my boxes are even unpacked. In the midst of my move I have no inkling at this moment where the paperwork I was given from them even is - so keep your paperwork handy. God forbid you store it in a box you moved into storage! Additionally the place is freezing - no heat, although their website states that there is heat. Wear a parka when taking a tour to determine if this is where you want to store your belongings. This storage facility is only slightly less expensive then others in the area. In hindsight I would have rented elsewhere. The facility is cold, dank, dark and you will find rat poison packets in the storage units (even on the 2nd and 3rd storage levels) which clearly points to a rodent issue. read more

Horrible storage facility. When we moved in it was so dirty there was tons of dirt covering the whole floor. Took an hour each to clean out the units we were renting and many full dust pans. This was made even more difficult due to poor lighting. Complaint was met with terrible customer service. We figured oh well, good location. Now we had an issue because our bank changed our credit card number due to concern on their part stating it had been compromised so they sent us a new one in the mail. This process took awhile and wasn't fast enough. This storage company slapped is with 3 late fees, one for each unit with no warning, $45 total! We reminded them of the situation and were talked down to for being late despite our situation. They were exceptionally rude and disrespectful. We plan to move out ASAP to Sherlock as they are friendly, clean, and have excellent lighting. Location not as convenient but worth it considering how terrible this place is. read more
