Friendly staff just need to figure out the food. White rice was mushy too much water when they cooked, it. Once the food hit the grill the cook added way too much water too. Meat was more boiled then grilled and the dish was loaded with too much liquid. Ended up with a plate of soup. read more

I was really craving Mongolian Grill today, so I stopped by after shopping. I didn't realize that they had changed. I realize they did this because of pandemic but they are really ripping you off now, and it isn't as good. Can't believe you have to pay extra for bok choi, pineapple or and other vegetable's. The only ones that aren't extra are onions, cellery and carrots, maybe broccoli. I don't remember. But the meats too. Used to be able to put shrimp, beef, sausage, pork, chicken. Now you can have chicken, pork, ham and sausage for regular price. Beef is $2.00 extra. Shrimp is extra too. So I ordered mine with pineapple and cilantro. That was an extra buck. I didn't do shrimp or beef because they didn't even list the price of the meal on the little sheet you fill out. The meal was $18.00. Most of it was noodles. There was not much meat on the plate. I payed extra for the cilantro and pineapple but there wasn't much of that either. Mongolian grill used to be a good deal, but now its a rip off. And on top of it all they suggest a 18% gratuity. All you do is fill out a sheet what you want and they bring it to you. Wasn't the same. Didn't taste the same. Not much sauce. sad. I could have had a prime rib steak for that. The sheer laziness of cooking my food on the grill was a new experience for me. They just use sticks and flip it over the grill a couple of times and it was "finished". I've expected this wouldn't be any good as the Mongolian grills in the West side but after lowering some expectations this exceedingly fell below that. If you pile a reasonable amount of food into the overpriced bowl they shoot daggers at you with their eyes, and then mutter to each other and laugh at you while making disparaging remarks about you in some asian language. As if being glared at and smirked at weren't bad enough they douse your food with water and some kind of mystery sauce you never asked for and slop 1/4 of your food into the waste gutter on the stove. In their tip jar I put a note that said "here's a tip, get a new job, you're horrible at this one". I won't be back. This place has 3 bowel sizes. You pay by the bowl size. They offer takeout boxes for your left overs. They offer a small scoop of white sticky rice and a cup of egg flower soup. After your meal you can help yourself to canned peaches orange slices and really thick chocolate pudding. Yes you get a fortune cookie. They don't seem to clean the grill off. I stopped in here on a weekend trip to Yakima. I'd say it's a pretty good bet. I came in on a Saturday night and while there were a lot of people there, I didn't really have to wait much. They are pretty efficient. If you haven't been to a Mongolian grill before, you basically just fill up a bowl at a buffet-style serving area with your choice of vegetables, meats, and sauces. Then they cook it all for you on a big grill. Some places allow you to make return trips and some places ration the meat. This place does neither. Instead they take the approach of small/medium/large bowls. I had the medium and you'd be surprised what you can heap into one of those. It was plenty for me and came out to just over $10 with tax. Plus, you should tip the cooks. Maybe a little pricey for what is essentially stir-fry, but it was still a good meal. read more

I have been to other mg s before but this one seemed to have a real language barrier. I was asked if I would like white rice with my meal but not told it comes with the meal andsoup too, so I declined not wanting to add to my meals cost. This place is pretty decent. The food is decent. I have been to better Mongolian grills, but its not bad. The place is kinda hard to miss if you don't know where its at. But a quick tip to locate it is, its right next to a GameStop. So you can eat and buy a used video game all in the same hour. The sauces where kinda watery to the point its like they are trying to stretch them out to all possible usage. And on top of that the selection was not that great or sauces. But if you are craving a Mongolian grill the next closest one is in Tri Cities, Kennewick to be exact in the same shopping center as Men's Warehouse. That one is a little better. read more

Not an All-You-Can-Eat Mongolian grill like the ones I've been to before. Here you have to pick your bowl size and then try to pile everything you think you might want into the bowl. It was a fun Tetris-type game at the ingredients bar -- definitely wait to pile the noodles on top once you've filled the bowl with meat and/or veggies. Then you can carefully place some more veggies (or meat) into/around the noodles. The sauces you can pour on last, since they'll just trickle down. I prefer being able to have a few small bowls with different meat/veggie combinations. Here you might have to mix seafood with beef/pork...which doesn't always result in the best flavor profile. The ambiance was blah -- similar to some other MGs. Watching them make the food on the grill is fun. They potentially only had one waitress, so getting drinks took a while. I was expecting more, so it gets 3 stars. My food combination turned out ok, not delicious. Would have liked the ability to experiment with small portions of ingredients to figure out the best combo. Unlikely that I would return. But it's a cool place to introduce someone to a MG. read more

I've been coming up to Washington for a few weeks and people were raving about how great of a place this was and I was really iffy about it but I was like okay skrew it I'll give it a try. One thing that made me not want to try it, is that I never really saw people in it. Last week I saw a lot of people and I was like hmm maybe it's not so bad. I enter the place was greeted by a lady and pointed us in the direction of the bowls. I pick my food items and I was surprised at the selection of sauces that were available so I had a lot of hope! When it finally came down to my food I asked the guy if he could add more bbq and spice to it(like all other Mongolian places I've been to it's a norm) and well the guy snapped back saying yes not to worry he knew what he was doing and not to ask. So I was a little peeved as I was really nice about asking. In the end he didnt add anything so I was annoyed because he clearly didnt The other cook didnt even look like he wanted to be there. They add sooo much water when cooking the food that all the flavor disappeared. When we got back to our vehicle I was like heck let's give it a shot. When I say it had no flavor it was an understatement. The noodles weren't great and the meat was really tough. We could not finish our food and ate what we could of it since we did spend the money on it...we just ended up tossing it. Being a foodie I've never thrown away food and I'm usually against it I normally throw chillie on stuff to make it better but nothing could save it. Later on that night we found ourselves with food poisoning. I'm surprised this establishment has thrived for as long as it has. I asked to substitute hot tea for the missing soup, but the manager refused. They still charged full price for the meal, too. The fact that they only had a handful of customers during the prime dinner hour should have tipped us off that this isn't a popular place for a reason. Filthy, filthy,filthy restaurant. I really wish this place was clean and had better quality ingredients. I can only imagine how dirty the kitchen is if the front is as bad as it is. The whole front is dirty but the curtains that separate the front from the kitchen are disgusting, not to mention the utensils everyone dishes themselves up with are sticky and crusty. Also it seems they buy the very cheapest ingredients possible, for example, their "sesame oil" is merely a cheap oil with sesame seeds put at the bottom of the container, their crushed red pepper is full of the hard "hull" of the pepper which is inedible, their garlic is in water and you can only get a few chunks in a scoop full. Come on guys, clean the place up and spend a tiny bit more for better ingredients. read more

There sure are quite a few negative reviews about this place, but don't believe them! Mongolian Grill is fantastic. Simple process: add the veggies and meat you want into a bowl, add the sauces/cooking oils, then have the chefs cook your food right there in front of you! I know a lot of people think that this introduces food borne illnesses having raw meats touch the veggies and everything, but obviously any bacteria from the raw meats are cooked out. Common sense. Most of the staff are friendly, but a couple of the cooks could use a courtesy lesson. Anyway, the food's good, the place has a casual atmosphere, and it's great for a quick bite while out shopping. read more

I give them only one star. They charge more for their evening session because they have shrimp and other choices not found during the day time. You can have all you want of anything but the shrimp. I like shrimp a lot. It's a buffet style restaurant and they tell me I can only have what the owner says in shrimp, which is only about 8 or 10. I feel you should get what you pay for. The worst ever. So expensive. Average food... I wanted a savory vegetable stir fry but the cook added a sweet brown sauce to my meal while it was on the grill. it was gross. The second time I went through I asked him to leave it out and my meal turned out fine. Every Mongolian type restaurant I have ever been to is "all you can eat". This one is not! And they don't tell you! When it was time to pay, I was shocked, I was charged for two meals! Almost $25 for stir fry vege's! I didn't even have any meat. I felt ripped off. Horrible experience. The town of Union Gap is small and doesn't have much to offer but Mongolian Grill is a great addition to the mall plaza. My friend and I visited this place starving. I was worried about the price and size of the food but my friend gave me a great tip when visiting MG, he said to just fill up any size bowl you get with as much food that you possibly can stack inside the bowl you get. Thankfully that worked out and I managed to pack a ton of fresh meat and veggies into my bowl. I got a small bowl that cost $7+, not too bad. I do like the sauces that they let you pour onto your food and the amount of freedom you have creating your bowl. The cooks are friendly and depending on who you get your food might come out good or great. The noodles here are not tasty though, I would say that the flavor comes with adding hot oil and other spices but that's kinda the point of creating your own bowl. I would reccomend this place if you are in search of fast and easy asian food that won't hurt your budget. read more
