Old Stinky P. had a wicked bad craving for a Meatball sub the other day. Saw on Yelp that the food at this place was pissah, so punched it up for delivery. It arrived very quickly! The balls were quite large and tasty and there were four of them in the sub. Had cheese as well! Only minor issue was Stinky prefers a bit more sauce than what was on the sandwich. This pizza place will knock your socks off! It has a prime location, close to transit and hotels but feels very local. I ordered two slices of the special and my wife order a pepperoni and a garden salad. The pizza and salad were magnificent. It might be the best pizza I've had ever. The special was pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey, and basil, it was booming with flavors and made to perfection. The salad was as if they picked all the produce as they were making it; it was so fresh! The service was on par with the food. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! The restaurant is small but inviting and there are maybe 5 tables inside. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great slice! read more

GrubHub is probably the worst possible way to rate any dining experience, but if you pass that test, you know it's good food. I ordered this for our family to eat at the hotel after a long drive into Boston for a weekend trip, and enjoyed the fact it arrived hot and crispy. We got simple fare, cheese and a white, and I would love to try this fresh one day right out of the oven. read more

Had a great dinner here tonight with friends. We ordered the senza nome pizza, a Caesar salad, and I got a slice of cheese. The food was absolutely delicious - great flavor on the red sauce and a crust that holds up to toppings. The Caesar salad was super fresh, a nice light dressing and olive oily croutons that were to die for. The service was very friendly as well, feels like a hometown place in downtown boston. Not only is the owner amazing and one of the best people you've ever met, but everything is scratch made and absolutely delicious. This can very legitimately go toe to toe Regina's, Ernesto's, etc.. It's probably even better. If you were in the north end looking for pizza you should do yourself a favor and come to Rustico. My personal favorite is the pepperoni. It's loaded with those little cups the sauce's house made and so vibrant and fresh. The dough is amazing. You literally can't go wrong. Avoid the tourist traps and get some of the best pizza in the city of Boston. read more

My favorite lunch spot around. I walk a long time in the rain sometimes to get these sandwiches. The chicken parm, meat ball, and bidabeep sandwiches are insane! One of the best chicken Parms in Boston hands down. My favorite meatball sub around, and the bidabeep with the fresh mooz and procuitto is light but great. They guy who works here is always super friendly too. People seem to like the pizza a lot the Sicilian looks so good, but it's like 5$ a slice... I was born in the 90s so I can't bring myself to try it yet. I want to try their calzones sometime but I think they don't do individuals anymore. read more

Just a corner location in Boston near our hotel... but this place was so great! It's a small little pizza place, but it's clean and inviting. The service was quick, efficient, and VERY friendly. We liked him as soon as we walked in! My husband loved the thin crust, and I loved the flavor. We just ordered a basic cheese, which is our go-to.. but it was soooo good! We wanted a casual dinner in the neighborhood and ended up at Pizzeria Rústico for slices of pizza. Amongst us, we had a few slices of regular pepperoni pizza and Sicilian-style margherita pizza. The pepperoni slice was okay but the margherita was pretty mediocre - the slices were on the hard/tough side which might have been related to how long our slices were heated. We took our slices to go but when I felt the box, it wasn't warm and after a five minute walk back, the slices were lukewarm at best. Slices were each about $5. read more

Regina was packed. Was craving a slice. Walked a few blocks and found this gem. As good a Regina. Friendly staff. Small little place so you might have to get takeout but they make special slices every day. The "Slow Cooked Italian roast beer with spicy GIARDINIERA Sicilian slice was so good. I can't believe more people don't know about this place! As a native New Yorker and picky eater, I know a thing or two about pizza. I have been coming here for about a year and a half now, typically taking a meatball ricotta pizza to go. The crust is baked to your liking, the tomato sauce is balanced, and the toppings are not overly salty or flavorless. As Goldilocks would say, this place is just right! The pizza is light and won't leave you feeling ill. I recently started getting slices to go and what a game changer. I can get four different types of pizza in one visit. All fabulous by the way. However I can't speak for the other food as I've only had their pizza. Above all, the owner is a good guy who is passionate about his small business. I would encourage anyone and everyone to stop by for a slice or 10! read more

But it got worse when we picked up. We paid $32 for a pizza and asked if we could sit inside to eat it and there were plenty of available tables. We were told no -- inside is table service only, and takeout means you take it and eat elsewhere. Fine, except there was nowhere to sit outside at the festival. When we asked about using one of their own outdoor tables (they had roughly 30, and it was 11:15am, 45 minutes before the festival even started, so the tables were empty), we were told those were reserved for table-service customers only. This was after we'd already spent $32 in their restaurant. Regina's has been around for 100 years, but somewhere along the way they stopped caring about basic hospitality. Paying customers with nowhere to eat their food shouldn't be treated as an inconvenience. We won't be back.

Ever since then I've always thought to myself, "the original has gotta be better, right?" Well, my boyfriend and I finally made our way to the original Santarpio's on a Saturday a little after noon. The place isn't much to look at but was hopping for the weekend lunch rush with almost every table full, and we got put in what appeared to be one of the last available tables in the place. Our order was taken very quickly after sitting down. The menu is strictly pizza with around a dozen toppings to choose from and a handful of grilled meats. That's it. We ordered a pizza with garlic and hot peppers as well as a steak tip skewer. The steak tips were juicy and cooked nicely, but they tasted like they lacked seasoning or marinade so I had to sprinkle some salt and pepper on them. Of course, the pizza is what we were really there for and I can tell you that it checks all the boxes for a classic pizza. The crust is on the thinner, crispier side which I actually prefer. The pie as a whole had a great color and good flavor between the cheese, sauce and toppings. After experiencing it for myself, it's pretty easy to understand why Santarpio's is so highly regarded in the world of pizza. They stick to what they know and they execute it well.

We had the meat lover's pie and oh my. Wgat a delicious fusion animals, cheese, tomatoes and crust. The taste took me back to a pizza I had many years ago at a place in Cambridge--in a great way! They only sell whole pies, which at first seemed annoying (the first time I tried coming here a few years ago I was by myself and couldn't eat a whole pizza alone) so I had to make this my inaugural tasting). But I see that as ensuring you are only eating a fresh product, where all the ingredients cook into each other and come out hot and ready, instead or something reheated from four hours ago because the day was slow. The menu is simple: pizzas and meat skewers. They know what they do well and lean into it hard. The ambiance has a rustic feel, with tall, weathered wooden booths that make eating a close experience, so please bring people you really like! The servers are present but not hovering and checked on us with the kind of frequency that says, "yeah we should let you eat but not forget you are there." I will be back for sure.

As someone who grew up in Boston and moved to the West Coast, finding a pizza that matches the classic Boston style has been a challenge. On a recent visit to Boston, I decided to try Pizzeria Rustico, and it exceeded all my expectations. The pizza here is everything one would expect from a classic Boston pizza--perfectly crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings. I stopped by for my favorite breakfast this morning and they had a sign up about rustic 10" pizzas. I said hmmm. Went back to the office and the idea of pizza from Rustico just stuck there all day , finally I had time for a late lunch so I bolted , and ordered the Meatball Parm Pizza. I figured 20 minutes but it was cooked in their new oven imported from Italy in 3 minutes!! It looked incredible and tasted the same, I would of thought I was in Rome having a fresh pizza cooked in a 200 year old brick oven...JUST AMAZING!! read more

I'm picky with Pizza delivery and I was really happy with Pizzeria Rustico. Got a pizza with pepperoni and green pepper and it was cooked perfectly. Lots of cheese too and it wasn't soggy at all. I also got the Greek salad and it was great, a meal in itself because it was huge! Very fresh ingredients too. Delivery was prompt and everything arrived correctly. I never get tired of eating here! Close to my office, their food is great! I always get the classic Rustico sandwich. The staff is helpful and fun (especially Jason, who always remembers my name and order)! Stop in and have one of the best meals in Boston! read more
