OMG what a way to ruin your relaxing weekend! We came in on a Saturday morning to have breakfast, and the inside was half full. They sat us at a table and after 10 minutes another girl came to ask us to switch the table. I don't know why, she didn't even give an explanation, but its not a problem to change seats, so we moved to another table. We ordered breakfast skillet & banana honey walnut pancakes, and for drinks we got latte & OJ. The food was horrible! Breakfast skillet has very little cheese on the top of veggies and burnt sunny side egg. It was bland, I didn't get the point of this menu. The vegetables were bad, eggs were bad, nothing to be proud of. And my 2 pancakes were ok but where was the banana??? I got only one small piece of it. The best part was the toast and it was burned. We complained to the server, he said it got burned so he gave us extra. Why should we receive food that was burned? Just throw away the food you ruined and give us the replacement??? Dining with a purpose ( non-profit for at risk youth ) and a good place for waffles. The restaurant has an open and eco-friendly design with parking located in the rear of the building. The parking is scarce but we had no problem snagging a spot. Once inside you'll find an open and eclectic atmosphere. No rush, "what can we get you?", Friendly attitudes. So about the food, I liked my breakfast burrito but I didn't love it. The pork was tender but not enough seasonings I had to salt, pepper and salsa myself. No big deal just made the burrito an A-Ok dish for me. Friend had the waffle. So good! Covered in berries and cream sauce. Nice, thick and fluffy. Perfect to share I would come back for the waffles. I was craving to eat their Berries N Cream waffles and yes it tasted good. The ambience is cool. The only thing I have to comment on is sanitation. I have uploaded this photo because the guy who has a dirty towel over his shoulder was probably the one who cleans the table and the guy in front him (red blazer) was prepping up the utensils, they were chatting (nothings wrong with that) but the guy with black shirt keeps touching his dirty wet towel, put his hands on his pockets, scratching his nose and sneezed twice and decided to help out the guy wrapping up utensils. Mind you he was wearing the gloves he probably wore the whole time cleaning tables. And when they were both wrapping up utensils, they are even touching the actually knife/forks itself not the handles! Eeeew! We come here all the time because it is right in front of our apartment complex. I know that service wasn't always the best, but we liked the food and the coffee. And today we decided to invite some of our friends here, and we were just beyond embarrassed for recommending the place. The skinny girl that wears glasses she's beyond rude all the time, rushes while you make your order and rolls her eyes every-time she takes your order and I think specially with her it has something to do with race, cuz I have seen her treating white folk way better or at least smiled, none of the servers do anything to provide at least mediocre customer service, and to think that you pay paying restaurant prices for my self serve diner. I opted for lunch with the Creamy Cajun Pasta. My bowl arrived full of al dente mushrooms, bell peppers, onions,and broccoli all tossed with chicken and penne in not-too-rich cream sauce. This pasta was goooood, I was told it wasn't "too spicy" by the server. I wish it would have had more kick, but no qualms! I can't wait to have it again!
