This was my first time working with Monro Muffler/Brake Service. Things that really stood out: I was able to get an appointment the same day I called without waiting a week. When I arrived they brought the car in right away. They had the spot ready. Technician showed to me and explained what needed to be done. I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of. The cost was very reasonable for brakes, calipers, and rotors on all four tires. The car was finished in the time frame that they stated. Overall customer service was fantastic! "Be careful! I came in for an engine jerking issue and was charged $250 for rear brake pads and caliper bolts. They claimed this was the cause, but the engine issue continued immediately after. Another professional shop confirmed that the brakes had nothing to do with the engine. Monro misdiagnosed the problem just to sell unnecessary parts. I took my Flex here to have them check it out before taking a road trip to Florida. I had noticed some tire wobble and didn't want to have issues during the trip. They replaced the lower control arm and said that I also needed new front brakes and rotors. The work was done and I still had a vibration in the steering wheel during the trip. The vibration turned into a squeak and then into an embarrassing squeak. We now live in Florida and I had to take it in to another auto repair facility. They found that I needed a new lower control arm and the front rotors were glazed!!! Screwed! read more

My name is Cindy I took my 95 Mercury Grand Marquis for a free alignment check at Monroe and hooksett New Hampshire on July 21st at 11:30 in the morning the men drove my car inside the garage he came out to the waiting room and told me I needed a four-wheel alignment and my ball joints and tie rod ends and everything else was good I told him how the steering was and he said a alignment would clear all that up about 5 minutes later he came back out into the waiting room again and said your car is already I couldn't believe it only took him 5 minutes to do a four wheel alignment but I paid him the money $135 in cash he took the money and told me he would send me a Gmail with a copy of my invoice I believed him I gave him my gmail address and my phone number and my address a week went by I never heard from him and I never received any invoice or any paperwork or any receipt for the money I gave to him at Monroe I called customer service to get a refund because I don't even believe the man did a four-wheel alignment in 5 minutes and the Costco is pulling to the right customer service told me if I don't have an invoice or receipt they cannot give me back the money and the man that works at Monroe told them I was never even in the shop which was a lie I'm an elderly woman I go to church I would never lie to anybody that's fraud the man kept my money never gave me a receipt and now they're saying that I was never in the shop I have pictures that I took of myself in the shop and I have pictures of my car on the lift at the shop I wish the owner would call me so we could clear this up my phone number is 603-275-2691 my name is Cindy if not I'm calling attorney general that's fraud they kept my money never gave me a receipt and now they're telling me that I wasn't even in the shop and they never did anything to my car I'm going to file a small claims court and ask for $10,000 in punitive damages fraud don't go there you'll be sorry if you do go there don't take cash The Man behind The desk is a real crook I can't believe he did that but how do you post it right here read more

I went in to have a tire patched. he was more interested in his pizza than my tire. I wasn't trying to have him do it that very second just sometime today. he told me no and walked off without saying a word. I took it down the street to tire warehouse where they plugged it for free. I have been to Monro for all my cars tires over the years and that's done. strongly advise you taking it about half a block down to people that actually care. absolutely ridiculous. I'm a very polite person please and thank you and this was disrespect in the highest form. what's funny is my buddy has a fleet account with them and he's closing it. a little respect goes a long way. I had been going to Monro for years and loved being a customer of theirs because I felt respected and the previous manager, Keith, was always pleasant and would take the time to educate me on my car and its needs. It seems as though management has changed hands and not for the positive. I brought my car in for an oil change and state inspection back in early December, and was told a tire rod would need to be replaced. No biggie. My car is a 2013, so replacements are bound to happen at this point. Got that replaced, and all seemed to be okay. Fast forward to January 6th, and my oil light comes on saying that it is low. I checked it myself, and it did in fact seem low. Which was odd, since I use my car very rarely and it had just been about a month since going to Monro. I called Monro and was told they probably just forgot to reset the light, and to drive it in to them to check it. I did so on the 8th, and when I got there, I mentioned that the oil did seem low and that I wanted them to check it out. They supposedly checked it, and I was told it was fine and that they reset the light. February 3rd comes around and the light comes back on, and I notice an oil puddle under my car. At this point, annoyed and aggravated that my concerns went to the wayside initially, I had it towed into another service center to be checked out. Turns out, that Monro used the wrong drain plug on my vehicle when they performed the oil change, so there wasn't a seal to prevent oil from leaking out. I'm then told that if the threads on the seal on the car were not worn, it'd be an easy fix of an oil change and drain plug. If they were worn down due to the use of the wrong drain plug, then it'll cost approx. $1100 to get the oil pan replaced. I called up Monro after this discovery, and told them all of this, and how it was their mistake, even after bringing it to their attention back in January and nothing being done other than resetting the light. They stated that since I didn't bring it back to them, compensation for the fix was highly unlikely. After being talked to like an idiot, my concerns were not listened to, and this mistake being their fault but them taking zero accountability for it, there was no chance I was going to trust them again to fix this. This final conversation with Monro occurred on 2/7, and I was told a manager would be calling me the next day to discuss my concerns and possible compensation. Well, it is 2/13 and have not heard back from anyone at Monro. Thankfully, the fix was the cheaper one and not the $1100 one, or else this would probably still be an ongoing issue. I will NEVER return to Monro after this and will be telling others to avoid as well. A simple oil change could've cost me my car. read more

I needed my car inspected, had a check emissions light on and needed front breaks and an oil change. I setup an appointment for Saturday at Monro and dropped the car off early in the morning. Keith, the manager, helped me. I've had some bad experiences with mechanics in the past and let me say that Keith was phenomenal. He was personable, friendly and he genuinely wanted to help. I've found many mechanics in the past act like they're doing you a favor by working on your car but Keith seemed to actually care. The work was done quickly and the price was incredibly reasonable. I had the back brakes done at Rockingham Honda and that cost more than the front brakes, a serpentine belt, inspection and an oil change at Monro. I will be back and I'm glad to have found a trustworthy mechanic with great service. I even forgot the keys to my lug locks and Keith was able to get them off without damaging them and he didn't make me feel like an idiot for forgetting the key. Thank you Keith! I just went in today to get my brakes and rotors replaced. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly and made you feel comfortable with spending your money there. I dealt more with Keith the manager and he was fantastic. While inspecting the breaks they noticed my sway bar bearings were broken so he informed me of this and told me he could get the parts which he had to call a few places to figure out who had them but could get them for me the very next day! They were very quick a lot faster than most places who are just doing an oil change and I got my breaks done. I would highly recommend this place and location. They are pretty good with prices too trying to help you save wherever they can help. Great job guys! read more

STAY AWAY from this company - My husband and I have been bringing our vehicles exclusively to Monro for annual inspections, tires and regular maintenance work since moving to Hooksett in Dec 2008. 10/31/2019 - we brought in our Silverado for Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch light display and warning - Monro replaced the sensor HOWEVER they FAILED to replace or install the screen filter under the sensor which caused the sensor to fail again in December of 2021, while the issue was being diagnosed by our new mechanic, it was found that this shop FAILED to use the appropriate amount of oil (was low several quarts of oil) when we last had an oil change done by Monro (a mere 5 weeks prior) there were NO oil leaks and NO oil spray in the engine compartment which can ONLY mean they never used the correct amount of oil - both the missing filter and low oil caused the sensor to fail. Forget calling corporate, they also don't care and outright lied to the BBB stating we were contacted to discuss the issue - this NEVER happened - If they can lie about something so trivial as contacting a customer about a safety issue/customer satisfaction issue, how well do you think they will stand behind any other promises? read more

My daughter had brought her truck to Monroe's n hooksett charged n outrages price for roots n brakes then check powers steering witch they put to much pressure n hose n broke it then expect her to pay for what they broke at another outrages price I would not recommend then to even touch my bike read more

Absolutely incredible experience here!! Highly recommended! They let us come in right at closing time (7pm) on a Friday night and fixed our breaks so we could continue on our journey to the White Mountains. Such nice people and so nice of them to stay open to help us! We would have been toast without them. The full story is that we were driving up from MA to the White Mountains on a freezing cold Friday night in January when we heard a grinding noise on one of our wheels every time we braked. We called Monro at 6:30pm and said we thought we had an issue with our breaks and could they take a look? We were 30min away and they were supposed to close at 7pm but they told us to come in and they'd take care of us. Sure enough, we got there right at 7pm. They immediately raised the car up and found that one of the back break pads was shot because the brakes weren't properly lubricated. They fixed the car immediately and had us back on the road within the hour. Thank you so much!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This location tried to take advantage of me. Tried quoting me $1800 for repairs that were "needed" or I'd have more issues. Went to a local garage they said nothing is wrong. Glad I didn't give them my money because they were trying to rip me off. Poor customer service has been my impression several time. The guys working there aren't polite, or very helpful.

Be wary of large quotes for repair or services here. I went to Monro the other day for a state safety inspection on my car. The inspection failed and I was told the steering rack had "excessive play and a leak". They quoted me $3100 to replace my rack. I called the dealership I normally go to for service for a quote on the same part and labor. The guy from the dealership I spoke with on the phone said he rarely sees rack failures, and he strongly recommended a second opinion. He also added that if there was in fact a failure, the dealership could probably do the repair for less than that $3100. The dealership was able to fit me in for an evaluation that afternoon, and found nothing wrong. The dealership told me that all racks have a little play, and they couldn't find any leak. I ended up paying $40 extra for the second inspection and got the passing sticker, which is much better than the unnecessary parts and labor I was quoted. read more

After going to this location for years it is with great dissappoinment I write the following. The last repair that we had on our vehicle (Dodge Caravan) for an oil leak has become a never ending saga. We are on the fifth visit in the past 12 months fr the same probelm. While they have not charged us for anything other than the original repair it has become obvious that we are nothing but a huge inconvienece to them. The problem re-occurred the week of Thanksgiving. They had the vehicle for 7 days to once again, try and repair the leak. We had the vehicle back for 4 days before the problem occurred again. Currently they have had the vehicle for 8 days. Today (day 8) the person at the gargae said that they he didn't know what was wrong or when the vehicle would be repaired. Calls to the corporate office in New York have have given us promises that a regional supervisor would call and let us know what was going on. We have yet to receive any call from any supervisor. The garage has not even called us to inform us of the status. We have had to call ourselves. Given the current situation I can only recommend that you stay far away from this organization for general auto repairs at this time. read more
