A friend and I tried this for lunch yesterday and will return. The menu is large and varied, not unlike typical American diners, so you are sure to find something you like. The club sandwich was fresh and the veggie omelet looked really good. The staff was friendly and courteous, food was tasty, plentiful and well priced. The decor is well done and clean. I was a bit disappointed in what I ordered. I got a small greek that was loaded with lettuce for almost $6. It looked like a $0.99 side salad. However, Everyone was friendly when I picked it up. This will be the last time I get a small greek. read more

Eaten here several times for breakfast and a few times for dinner, exactly what you expect from a diner, good food and moderate prices. Pancakes are delicious and the banana Nutella crepes are to die for. We've never had an issue with we service and they always offer me a coffee to go. Great food...good prices! Monroe Grill opened today (August 3, 2015) and was a great find. They serve breakfast and lunch/dinner all day. I was so excited that they had chicken lemon rice soup I ordered it for breakfast (and it was fantastic). The restaurant is brand new and very clean. The wait staff were very attentive. very very good food, I finally found a place in Monroe to dine. favorite Greek place in Toledo was Mano's, till now.. very comparable...The thick pita bread with thick cuts of gyro meat and very delicious tzakziki sauce really made one of the better gyros I have had. kids menu -crayons would be nice--to keep kids entertained Opa was nice cheese appetizer, however a baked feta would be better, feta cheese that came with salad was delicious. read more

The wife and I decided to give this place a try. Mistake. Everything seemed OK at the beginning. We were seated next to the cooler out on the floor, it shook the table when the slider door closed (the waitresses were in it all the time). I ordered the Biscuits n Gravy. The wife ordered a Farmers omelette (meat, veggies, hashbrowns). Sides were either pancakes or hash browns for their meal. She ordered pancakes. When the meal arrived, her omelette didn't have any hashbrowns in it. We brought it up to the waitress. She took the plate back to the kitchen, and then returned the same plate 3 minutes later. She told us that if we don't order hashbrowns on the side, they don't put any in the omelette. Isn't the point of a farmer's omelette hashbrowns, otherwise it's just a western omelette. My wife protested, stating the ingredients listed in the menu said it had hash browns in the omelette. The waitress took her plate again, and went back to the kitchen. 3 or 4 minutes later, the "manager" arrived, with the same plate again. And told us the same thing. If you don't order hashbrowns as a side, they don't put them in the omelette. Now, the plate has been back and forth to our table 3 times. The manager ends up telling us we can just "get out" of the restaurant, takes the plate again, and walks away. The waitress brings our bill, and we have been charged full price for the meal that my wife hasn't eaten. At that point I was really pissed. I told the waitress we aren't paying for a meal that she didn't eat, and the manager took away. After 10 minutes or so, with all the wait staff watching us, and getting some pretty nasty looks from them, the waitress brings us our bill with that meal removed. I paid the bill and left. TL:DR Ordered a an omelette and it was missing ingredients. Complained, was charged full price and told to leave. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE...... read more

Great food. The service is excellent. The owners are very nice. They have the best gyro meat in town.

My wife and I went there on June 3rd, a friend recommended Monroe Grill. We told the waitress we never had been and needed time to look at menu. I ordered the fish and mac, and my wife ordered a steak. The food was alright. We both get salad with our meals, and since we had never been there before, my wife asked for the Greek dressing and a side of ranch in case she didn't like the Greek dressing. I asked for ranch dressing with my salad, and because most restaurants give you such a skimpy amount of dressing, I asked for extra ranch. She brought my wife her ranch and Greek dressing, and brought me two sides of ranch. The containers the dressing came in were all half filled, maybe a little more then a thimble full for each dressing container. While eating my salad, I asked for another ranch dressing since so little was in the containers the waitress brought us. We get our bill, and the waitress has the audacity to charge us .75 for each additional dressing. We were charged $2.25 total for our dressing. My recommendation, if you serve average food, don't nickel and dime your customers over salad dressing. We will never go there again. I must assume management tell their wait staff to charge for extra dressing, a waitress wouldn't be that stupid. Although a thimble full of dressing isn't what I call extra. read more

Wrong order received, no side, charged for the garbage they decided to serve, we left and had a better meal at the BP up the street in the form of a protein bar. Additionally the men's bathroom was locked out that day. I wonder if the money they just charged me for the wrong meal will be looked at in hindsight as "worth it". I bet not. read more

We have eaten here several times. The food quality has declined some. The breakfast items are the best offerings. Okay. We we went this past Monday the 13th of June 2016. We went to celebrate a birthday. I was totally sick to find a very long hair in my rice pudding. The waitress had come to pick up the check as I found it. She apologized but didn't bother to send the manager to our table. We will never eat here again. Sorry..that hair was just disgusting! read more

This place has nice decor, a large menu, good sized portions for decent prices, And friendly staff. The downside to this place is the most important part of a restaurant, the food. I ordered lasagna and I must say it was awful. I haven't really ever had lasagna I didn't enjoy, but this was practically a dish filled with a ton of beef and some Tomato sauce. It tasted bland and I was very disappointed. It seems like a nice place, I'd consider giving it another shot as it is possible lasagna just isn't there specialty. read more

My husband and I decided to try the Monroe Grill last night. The food was really good. Service, not so much. I got the lemon rice soup, which was really delicious. He got the clam chowder, and said it was really good also. The soups are homemade fresh every day, and you can tell they are made from scratch. My fish and chips were good, but rather typical, nothing special. He said his catfish and fries were excellent. We also had rice pudding for dessert, which was included with our meals. It was really delicious, and tasted homemade. Now, about the service: When we got there, there were no napkins or flatware on our table. When the waitress brought our soup, I asked for napkins and silverware. There was a soupspoon on the saucer with the soup, so we were able to eat the soup but didn't have napkins. She said she would be right back with the silverware and napkins, but she didn't bring them. I kept seeing her around the restaurant, doing other things, so my husband went and got us napkins and silverware. I noticed toward the end of our meal that we had not received the bread basket that was supposed to be included in the meal. I mentioned it to the waitress, and she brought it to us then. I asked for a refill on my iced tea, and it was a long time before I got it. We will definitely go back. The soup alone is reason enough to go back, it is truly delicious. read more

this is a good diner for a quick meal. the staff is friendly. the biscuits and gravy are awesome. breakfast special is a good price for quite a bit of food. great breakfast spot. seems quite busy when we go in but not busy enough that youre waiting forever to get your food. read more

First visit today and it was a good experience. The atmosphere was nice and the booth we sat in was pleasant. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. A second person walked around the tables offering refills and making sure we had everything we needed. My husband ordered a breakfast of steak, eggs, hash browns and toast. The portions were generous, the steak was cooked as ordered but was a little fatty. The greek salad with grilled chicken came with really good homemade dressing and thick cuts of pita bread. The chicken was never frozen and was grilled fresh. The toppings were plentiful so I wish there was more lettuce included. Service was quick - we were able to get in and out during a lunch break. Our first time at Monroe Grill was May 3 at lunch time. The food was very good...good sized portions... and the price was good too. Our server gave us time to figure out which items we wanted to order (we had problems deciding since the menu listed so many we like), was very helpful with any questions and brought refills for our drinks. I don't understand people complaining about the food...it always great. Only that is bad to me is the french fries. Seems like no one has just plain ole fresh fries anymore! So many restaurants want their fries to taste like checkers. Put a nice steak fries and that is a winner. read more

Took a group of 10 women in and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Several had lamb chops (which were delicious) and the dill pickle soup is outstanding. Waitress was friendly and the owner stopped by several times to see how we were doing. We would not hesitate to return. read more
