Long time enjoyer and wine club member. Their wine is great, as is their staff, and their wood-fired pizza. Went today for first time since they moved the Wine Tastings to the new space on the left. Beautiful space, but many added complications in getting seated for casual dining (pizza) and placing our order. Main thing to know is, you must get there before 4pm, which is the new seating cutoff for casual dining. Line up in the central corridor to be seated. Then they had us check in on a Yelp Kiosk (which was only available in-person, not in-app). Then we waited, they seated us. Once at our table, we had to go up to the inner cashier counter to get our pizza order in by 4:30. They also have wine there. If only getting wine (no food,), disregard all this, you can go to the first tasting counter you see, at the new wine counter in the first building you see on the new side. There's a lot more to it, but those are the basics re. getting there near closing. We enjoyed this new normal less than our dozens of previous visits, so many steps to get in, it felt stressful under the deadline, our pizza was cold, and we left feeling sad/nostalgic for the simpler way of the past. I know they're in a season of change. I hope they simplify the casual dining flow. They'll also soon be opening an Italian restaurant. Will that make it better or worse? The pizza and the wine are great. They lean heavily on the atmosphere, which is really lovely, but it isn't enough if the guest experience doesn't match. read more

The experience was again fantastic and the environment spectacular in beautiful plantings and fine restaurant decor. The best thing, however, was the exemplary dining layout and the delicious food all served by Monserate servers who were both friendly as well as class "A"trained! My three guests (with their mother visiting from Australia) were greatly appeased with all of these attributes! Thanks, again Monserate establishment for hitting the ball out of the local winery business park!! We left with wide, beautiful smiles and happily full stomachs from eating: Pizza ( with added pepperoni); Fried breaded Calamari; Meal-sized green Caesar Salad, and warmed oven baked bread with Monserate branded Olive Oil as bread dip! Even though we were so full that we had our leftovers bagged for takeout, ...WE ALSO ordered a huge slice of the most delicious homemade dessert: Chocolate Caramel Crisp Pie with hardened crispy brown sugar crust! There's nothing more satisfying than finishing a delicious Monserate meal with a guest favorite, homemade from scratch, Chocolate Caramel Pie dessert!! ( It's currently an ongoing, permanent menu offering as well!) Updating again, since the new space opened. Some of these yelpers need to settle down and maybe do a little grammar check before they hit submit too. The new space is beautiful. Stunning. There's nothing else like it in the area. Was the lake area beautiful too? Absolutely. However it's not like the space they've moved us to is some hideous area. As someone who's been a member since right after opening, this was always the plan. Everyone ohheed and ahhed the new space being built, but now you're upset? I'm not sure how you didn't realize this was coming, it's all they've talked about since opening. We've always gotten up and ordered food and wine. No one waited on you, it's not that different. And for the people upset about the kids not being allowed on the weekend? You can thank negligent parents for ruining that for y'all. I can not tell you how annoying it was to be there and have kids picking up our wine glasses (like under 5) while mom and dad threw back wine and used the space as a free babysitter. We loved the food in the new restaurant, having participated in the soft opening, we tasted so much, and were thrilled with it all. The outside food is still just as yummy. And now, instead of pizza and salad, I get pizza and truffle fries. A girls gotta eat, I guess. I'd encourage all of you canceling or threatening to cancel, to just, maybe, be a little patient. They're working out some kinks, but this is hands down the nicest atmosphere and best food in Fallbrook in the opinion of my eyes and stomach. Maybe give some constructive ideas first on how we can possible still get some days by the lake areas. The management and staff are absolutely lovely and willing to listen to your thoughts. Everyone wants nice establishments in Fallbrook, but the minute it isn't exactly what YOU want you don't support them and say "they're not gonna make it." Beautiful winery. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the knowledgeable staff that could speak about their wine, the flavors, where the grapes were grown, etc. we ordered a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc and it had a nice light flavor, crisp finish, delightful. The pizzas and appetizers were also very good. Will definitely be coming back and bringing friends. read more

My second review for Monserate Winery after the upgrades and expansions. This is my first visit after the massive expansion. The winery now has a new restaurant (coming up), a large tasting room, separate building for events and weddings. Everything now feels grand, polished with beautiful landscaping, lots of outdoor seating. However, that small, simple vinery feel with beautiful lake views is gone. While the food and the wine were great, sitting now in this new courtyard, i didn't feel the breeze from the lake, nor the view is no longer available. I feel for me this was the focal point of the winery. The families with kids used to play and relax on the turf lawn next to the lake but that's also has been changed. Families can no longer attend on the weekends and the lawn is gone ( or no longer accessible, not sure). Anyway, i digress.. on to the food. Their pizzas are a must try, they pair perfectly with wines. There are also a few selections of healthy salads. Sweltering weather on my winery visit made Pio Grigio the perfect choice. It crisp and refreshing taste was ideal for a hot summer day. Side note, please offer complimentary water to your customers who are sitting down and ordering food. The grounds are lovely here. They recently underwent a major remodel. The tasting area is surrounded by an abundance of flowers and a a water feature. They serve a variety of tasty pizzas , bruschetta & salads. You have to go up & order your food waiting in line.A little bit pricey. Friendly servers & attentive employees cleaning the tables. We had an awesome experience today at Monserate Winery. We joined their club the last time we visited, because all of the wines were great, in our opinion. We came today to pick up our wine club order and did a tasting while we were there. Miguel was there to guide us through our tasting and he was knowledgeable and engaging, a delight to talk to. We went out to the patio dining area next and had a delicious and substantial (for the price) charcuterie board, along with a glass of their Grenache sparkling wine. Monserate is the biggest winery in Fallbrook and it does get very busy on the weekends. The tasting room might be packed but you can usually find a spot. It's big enough that they have a patio and an outdoor bar and the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is delicious, a little pricey but it's a nice experience. I like the wine tasting flight as well, since they give you a good amount and you can split it so you don't get too tipsy lol. read more

Food, wine and service are always great here. I had the salmon added to the pear/candied walnut salad. The charcuterie board is outstanding. The burrata comes with loads of roasted tomatoes, garlic and crostini bread, and pizzas are good too. My only wish is that customers would stop wearing strong scented oils/lotions/colognes to wineries. It kills the aromas of the hand crafted wines when all anyone can smell is strong smelling colognes, skin so soft and patchouli all in the same area. Maybe an education is in order for these newbies at wine tasting. Monserate is a beautiful and high class winery and the staff are outstanding. read more

What a beautiful winery ambience is amazing, very clean enjoyed the serene area by the waters with lounge chairs. Customer service was great! They have food you can order the pizzas looked amazing although we ate prior so we weren't hungry. The sparkling wines were a favorite if you love sparkling! Enjoyed the whites on this nice warm day! They were doing salsa night at this winery, but I wasn't able to attend, so I waited for the next one. I met up with some friends there and parked on the dirt road. There were lights in the patio and check-in was a breeze. There was some audio difficulty, so lessons started later. Only pizzas were available for food, so we got both kinds- the margherita and piccante. I also wanted to try some wine as well, of course. The pizza dough was bubbly and chewy, but thin. It was really yummy! When the lessons were over, I headed to the dance floor, but it was really uneven and sticky. It was still fun, but I had to switch my shoes. Gorgeous new winery / restaurant in Fallbrook. We were at the Fallbrook Harvest festival and Yelped places to have a nice lunch in the area. I'm so glad we did! We sat outside and our server, Sam, was very knowledgeable about the food and wine options. We ordered the special appetizer broccolini and it's the best!! The texture of it was perfection like crispy melted in our mouth. The sauce - I have no idea what it was but we put every last bit of it on our bread (definitely recommend ordering bread with that dish). Amazing. I got a pizza with goat cheese and prosciutto. The crust was good but I think I would have preferred just a cheese pizza cuz I'm a plain Jane. We signed up for the wine club and went to the members tasting room after lunch. All the wines were really good. The building and furniture and everything is brand new (I think they said about 4 months) so it's spotless and really classy. Can't wait to go back.
