I frequent Monserate but this was my first time in the new building. My friends arrived before me so they were waiting for a table. They had been put on a waitlist that they could monitor and it was an 18 minute wait when they arrived. The rest of us arrived shortly thereafter but until we checked with the staff at the front we were not seated. It was about 40 minutes later. We were under the impression they would let us know that our table was ready. Seems like a miscommunication. Finally we were seated and given menus and it was explained where to go to order what and to show our hand written number. Individually we all ordered either at the bar inside for wine or the area to order food/wine. The line was a bit long and slow moving, but the member line had no one and the people were just standing there looking bored. It would have been great if at least one of them could have helped on the side with the food. I know it's all growing pains for the new location though. We ordered pizzas, bruschetta and wine. They came in a timely manner. I did have to ask about the specials though because in the past I've ordered pizza only to see others being delivered specials that we weren't told about. I got the short rib pizza special and it was delicious. The bruschetta seemed smaller than it had been in the past but the price was the same. We pulled out photos from our past visits and it is indeed smaller, unfortunately. It's a totally different place and feeling and I will miss the lake views and grassy area but I'm looking forward to seeing what it becomes once they iron out the kinks. We started with the charcuterie board, it was good - I would not order it again though, as it was not anything spectacular for the price. The pizza was delicious, I would definitely order again and come back for the pizza alone. The restaurant itself if very bright and modern. We were seated next to a large party of 12 who was speaking loudly the entire time. All the noise in the restaurant came from them so it's hard to really tell what that actual ambiance is like. Service was slow, very slow. I waited an hour for the pizza. Unsure if this was the norm there or because of the large party. Our server was very nice and professional. No problems there. Overall, this is a nice local place and I'd love to give it another shot to see if the overall experience is more enjoyable. read more

I almost hesitate to heap praise on Monserate for fear that it will ultimately grow into one of the enormous wineries in Temecula that used to be fun and relaxing but are now so overrun that visiting feels like a chore. But Monserate is a gem and worthy of praise. I could go on about how good the food is (it's outstanding) or how good the wine is (my wife is the wine person and loved many of their selections, enough to become a member). But the best part is the people. Roger (hope I'm remembering the name correctly) handled our party's tasting and was incredibly knowledgeable and a great person to chat with. The rest of the staff we encountered were equally friendly and welcoming. All around some of the best service I've had anywhere. Great location- they moved so there is no longer a lake on the property. Wine tasting- taste 6 wines For $20 and 8 wines for $25. Friendly staff, but maybe could use one more staff on busy moments. You are required to walk to the back bar to order food, although they bring it to your table. The menu is small, as the indoor restaurant isn't open yet. They have a wedge salad, pizza, and burgers. A burger and fries are $26 approximately and you get two patties with American cheese and fries. The burger and fries are great!! The parking is simple and the landscaping is nice. It's about 7 minutes from the 15 fwy. off Mission Blvd. What would I change? Not much, It's a great experience. This fallbrook winery is a San Diego hidden gem. The property is a well manicured, beautiful garden with a pond. Vines from several varietals are located on the property. My mom and I will come here every once in a while to have some bonding time when my husband and our son and my dad go do something guy related, and it's always a fun time when we're here. The staff is very knowledgeable about the different wines, they're personable. The place does get crowded sometimes, but it's worth it! The food is always so delicious. We were guests at a wedding this past weekend at Monserate Winery and I have one word to describe this venue-STUNNING. The grounds are so well manicured, you can tell they have a phenomenal team all around and I must say they served some of the best food I've ever had at a wedding!! This was our next stop in our exploration of the Ramona, Escondido and Fallbrook wineries. As soon as you drive in you can't help but be impressed with the size and the glut of parking. Long story short is the parking is there for a very good reason; it gets used between the tasting room and what I understand to be two event centers. Our purpose was wine tasting today! The tasting room and grounds are well staffed with knowledgeable and friendly folks that seem to know everything about everything in the tasting operation. The grounds are expansive generous indoor, patio and pond side seating. We arrived when they opened and snagged a pond side sofa and table with a great view of the vineyards, pond, and surrounding trails and hills. Very relaxing to be sure. Within a few hours the generous patio and pond side seating was full so I recommend an early arrival to have a seating choice. We tried a charcuterie board ($31 but a LOT of food), pizza (don't believe them, they are much bigger than 'personal' size!), a salad with beets and beets, and topped it off with cannolis, all of which were very good! Highly recommend food with your wine! Will definitely be back for more and the share this gem with more friends and family!! read more

I had lunch here today with some friends. First I want to say the restaurant is absolutely beautiful! We ordered the calamari and two pizzas, the truffle mushroom and the potato bacon pizza. The calamari was delicious and served with a very tasty marinara sauce. The pizzas had very good flavor but they came out of the kitchen lukewarm at best. Because of the pizza not being hot, the crust was very soft and rubbery and the cheese wasn't very good on top. Our waitress was friendly, but not very attentive. Other than bringing our food, she only checked on us once and we were there for 2 hours! I will definitely try this restaurant again because I do want them to succeed since I live only a mile away. However, if I have the same experience, I'll have to go elsewhere! read more

This is an update from an earlier post. I complained about the parking (as a member). Those who read this please be patient. Yes, Sunday afternoons are pretty busy but.. worth the trouble! The wines are great! Especially the 2024 Falanghina and their 2023 Negroamaro! ( at least those are the two we love). Their staff are kind and very knowledgeable. We had Kelsi and she was fantastic.!! Definitely a great asset. (I hope they keep.) and the ambience is amazing with live music Sunday afternoons. We are so glad we kept our membership. I'm a long time member and have always been happy with everything from the wine to the beautiful venue. If you're looking for the best place to share a delicious meal with excellent wine in the most gorgeous location, this is it! The purpose for my review is to take a minute to give them a special shout out for exemplary service this past Thursday. I unfortunately don't remember the names of the staff that helped, but they were great! My mom and daughter and I came for a late lunch. My daughter does not like cheese at all, but she is not allergic or dairy sensitive. We ordered the Marry Me Pasta, cheese on the side, and the Caesar salad, cheese on the side. About 5 mins after ordering, while we were still talking to our waiter, a man from the kitchen approached. He asked (quietly, but I overheard) "the pasta has cream...is this an allergy or an aversion?" Our waiter had already checked with us, and answered accordingly, and he went back to create an absolutely delicious meal that we all loved. So nice to have people that care about their craft and their fellow humans enough to stop and ask a question that could have been terrible if she was anything but picky! read more

Can I get married here ? I told my bf and his family I found the place where I want to get married haha . What a beautiful venue and space. We did a tasting of reds and whites . The guy pouring our wine was really friendly and told us so much about the town, his experience in the wine industry as a broker and recommendations in the area and even out town. I bought a sauvignon blanc which I ended gifting to a childhood friend. We later went outside and eat in the restaurant and ordered pizza and Cesar salad. After exploring a little bit of the grounds on our own we almost got in trouble and kicked out of the areas because apparently there was actually going to be an actual wedding. read more

I am an absolute fan of Barbera, and it is a wine club member exclusive so of course i needed to become a member to try it! Thankfully, Tristan quickly realized Barbera is my absolute favorite so he gave me a splash, and it is very good. Therefore, it was worth it and i decided to join this amazing, beautiful winery. Our other tender, Darius was also very helpful. He served our first and last tasting pour. If i could have them both every time i go, I will always be happy!
