I bought a Groupon and went here for laser hair removal. Firstly, I have to say Lauren is absolutely the best. She is so very kind and really great at her job. I had a great experience here until they got a new receptionist who was anything but kind. The former woman was very nice and wonderful and always a pleasure to deal with. But the one that came on after her was always short with me and I had a difficult time in scheduling appointments. I bought a package after my Groupon was finished but this receptionist had the number off and kept telling me I didn't have any left because they apparently started it when I bought it; however it didn't actually start until my next appointment. I should've made the appointment and then purchased the package on that first appointment date instead of purchasing in advance. I'm never coming back, which makes me sad as as I mentioned Lauren was just wonderful and the laser hair removal treatments were great. read more

I'm trying to grow my hair out and want it to look neat not shaggy. I've had 5 not so good haircuts in a row so I was starting to lose hope that someone else could fix my hair and instead I would just have to deal with awkward ugly hair stage. Ariella who was the lady who cut my hair did such a fantastic job! She made sure that liked what she was doing and I'm very pleased with the results. She has been cutting hair for 18 years so I felt a little safer than someone who has been doing it for five. She was very nice and pleasant and I will DEFINITELY have her cut my hair again! Ozlum, the cutter / stylist is the best. I don't have an opinion about anyone else here since I've never had them cut my hair. Ozlum, though - she does a great job every time. I tried old school (Archie's Barber Shop down the street); new school (Rudy's at the Standard and in Silverlake); haircuts with a massage (Floyd's in Studio City) and nothing compares (although some of the cutters at Floyds look like strippers and that's cool) - but if you want a great haircut - go see Ozlum. read more

I have been going to Betty the manicurist at Montage for over 10 years....each time she gets moodier and moodier. For the last three weeks when I enter the salon and go to her station she totally ignored me, never acknowledging my presence. I finally got fed up and left her a note telling her how uncomfortable I felt when she never says 'hello' to me....she has never replied to my personal note. After being a loyal customer for 10 years she threw that relationship down the toilet.... I do not recommend BETTY. She is moody, inconsiderate and has no value for a long time customer relationship... Several other people have left her through the years because sometimes she is friendly and sometimes she is not. Going for a manicure should not cause tension. On top of everything else, parking is a pain at the salon... read more

In the 20 years I've lived in LA, this is the BEST cut I've ever had!!! I've spent thousands (now) of dollars on some awful, but most ok/passable cuts, but never got exactly what I wanted. If I ask for layers, I leave looking like Carol Brady. If I ask to just trim, I usually get just not that. And walk away with that length that takes forever to get past my shoulders again. But not with Bob at Montage. This man knows hair like no other. I walked in looking like a stick of cotton candy with a mop so dry that it shouldn't be legal in California during the fire season. I was driving by asking Siri to find me a salon. She kept diverting me in the opposite way of my house so I ignored her. Thankfully. I glanced and saw the salon, acted fast, slammed on the breaks, turned into the alley, saw they had a parking spot and found myself begging someone at the front desk to help. He took pity, sat me in the chair, forced me to look at the desperate reflection one more time and the rest is history. He ended up keeping my length...actually somehow making it longer and giving me three levels of layers so that the duo-carolbradylike-level haircut did not even enter his mind. You go there for Lydia Geissman, who is the best stylist I have ever had. I have been going to her for thirteen years. She makes my thin hair look absolutely thick and gorgeous. Her prices are reasonable. Her skill in coloring is well known in the Valley and as far north as Ventura. I have referred very many friends to her, who are now devoted clients. She is gentle, not pushy, and is very kind. I go to Bob. He's incredible! Some people can cut, some can color, some can do good straightening, some are good at extensions. Bob does it all, with ease and competence and he loves it! His prices are reasonable, the place is comfortable and I'd never go anywhere else. In fact, I moved across the country for a few years but kept coming back to him every 4 months for the serious stuff, wouldn't trust anyone else. They also have one of the best manicurists you will ever find, Dusty. No matter what you want, she can do it and do it well. I'm not a fan of this salon for one specific reason: the owner is nasty and has created a gossipy, backstabby, judgmental environment. You can certainly get a good cut, color or manicure if your stylist of choice is talented, but the atmosphere is not warm, welcoming, soothing and upbeat, which is critically important for any beauty salon. read more

I have been getting my nail and hair done here for over 25 years. Everyone there is incredibly talented and fun. Bob, the owner who does my hair is the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. He cares about my hair and does an awesome job despite the fact that my hair poses a lot of challenges. I have never met anyone who cares more than he does about how my hair turns out. Dusty, who does my nails is wonderful. She sets aside ample time to do our nails and does them perfectly. I wear my nails long and I never fail to get compliments on them. The salon is so friendly and comfortable that I feel like its a comfortable, relaxing social occasion every time I go there.
