I've been coming up to Cooke for almost 25 years. My family has a cabin in Silver Gate. Imagine finding out there's a new restaurant and it's of my favorite variety: Asian! To say I was stoked would be an understatement. My husband got their curry while I decided to play it somewhat safer (in both heat and flavor) by getting the kung pao chicken. It was delightful. It was raining, a perfect day for coffee. So we talked to the owners (the cook and the waitress) and asked how long it would take and if it'd be alright if we walked and got some coffee---we'd pick up our food on the way back. They said it'd take about 10 minutes and we'd be ready to go! We walked down to the coffee shop (Pilot's Perk). Side note: Try this place, too! We got back ~12 minutes later and our food and drinks were ready to go! It was wonderful. Spicy, authentic, beautifully prepared. My only regret is that I wish I was in town longer to try more of their items. I do recommend to get this when you're in town for a while. They give you a lot of food (which isn't a burn!) but it can be hard to transport if you're leaving the next day or are in town only for a few hours. read more

Very good bison burger, excellent crispy potato rounds and a very generous serving of them. The huckleberry cheesecake was scrumptious. We happened upon MontAsia on the last day of the season, and there didn't seem to be any other available eating places. We were pleasantly surprised by this walk up restaurant. We had to wait to order and wait for our food, but only one person was working, and there was a line of hungry people. We heard that MontAsia will be relocating next year. read more

My wife and I have now made two trips over the pass this summer, both of which culminated in a meal here. And after having four different entrees, we feel pretty safe in saying that everything on the menu is excellent, including the beverages. Everything has just the right amount of spice and seasoning, and is freshly made while you wait. You couldn't ask for a better meal after a long hike or backpack - the portions are huge! We may have to take longer hikes. :) read more

An unexpected find coming out of the NE Gate of Yellowstone. Food was awesome. I had the Mongolian Chicken which was amazing and came with a side if pickled cucs and apples (yum). The owners were friendly and they have a wicked cool logo. read more

We've stopped here twice for dinner after visiting Yellowstone. Every thing we had was good. We had the bison burger and the Malaysian chicken and rice. In addition we quickly devoured the tater tots and the coconut shake was cold and sweet. read more

Wow. The food at MontAsia is exactly what we needed on this road trip. The food is so vibrant, refreshing, and full of flavor. We had the House Salad (which is unlike any other restaurant's "house salad") and the Malaysian Chicken Rice. If you're on your in town / on your way to Yellowstone, make sure to stop by! read more

FINALLY VEGETARIAN OPTIONS IN COOKE CITY!! Everything about MontAsia was great, from the staff to the food to the open seating area. Tried the lo mein and kung pao dishes (both with tofu) which were flavored well and yummy! The veggie egg rolls were crunchy and delicious as well. I would 10/10 come here again! The place is a kind of a dump. There certainly is Nothing about the physical layout to invite anyone to come to the place. Luckily, I elected carry-out.. I ordered curried chicken and an exotic asian salad. The salad with slaw,mango and shrimp was deliciously excellent. The curried chicken was mostly rice and while edible not exciting; very ordinary...not what you expect from a signature dish. My wife says she'd go back. So I guess we will. read more

Montasia is AMAZING! we come to silver gate every year and stay at our cabin and if I don't go to cooke city for montasia at least 3 times in the week and a half we are there I leave disappointed. Last year I left craving their noodles for months and this year they had a new curry bowl that was the best curry I've ever had and tots with housemade banana ketchup. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars they are the best place in town to eat. Also the owners are so nice and always have treats for our dog. If you're lucky vinnie the poodle will be out greeting guests and he's the cutest! read more

I am Chinese and I would say they have pretty decent asian food. We ordered chicken curry, noodle salad and kong pao chicken and they are delicious, especially the chicken curry, it is really creamy, tasty and not that of super sweet. The lady can speak Chinese and comes from Malaysia. I would come to visit them again if possible. read more

EAT HERE!!!! The food is so fresh and flavors are so delicious. We even ordered a second round we enjoyed the food so much. Beef Kung Pao was perfectly cooked and spiced, chicken curry, sweet and sour tofu, salad... all so yummy! My husband grew up in Singapore with Malaysian food and was so impressed too. Stopped here for lunch heading home from Yellowstone. Little family run food stand with Malaysian food. Our family of 4 all tried different things on the menu and we were thrilled with our choices (tofu noodle bowl, sweet and sour beef, fried noodle bowl and chicken curry). Tasty, fast, homemade food that was a nice surprise. So good, it's worth the drive. read more

Best food in Cooke City. Limeade was not too sugary and super fresh. We got Kung Pao chicken and it was fantastic. Also open late and great prices, we paid about $10 for the Kung Pao and that was a great deal compared to other more inflated prices around town for lower quality food. read more

Great place to go! We had dinner here to find something different after 5-day trip in Grand Teton and Yellowstone NP. It was out of our expectation. We ordered chicken curry, Korean beaf and Boo, as we are not fan of Bison or Elk meet. Food was tasty and the owner was so nice. As an out of town guest in the area the find of this cuisine was a great surprise and fantastic. After 8 days of mediocre middle America ' this and that ' crappy food within the National Park and areas around them (Teton and YP), this was a tasty and spicy treat. This is absolutely excellent and a real antidote the the char broiled burgers you are stuck with for most of a Yellowstone trip. The flavors are bright and the meat was fresh. I had the sweet and sour chicken. It had lots of sauce and was quite good. The rice was also great. A downside was the outdoor seating. For lunch you would be fine, but by 7pm the mosquitos were getting a bit thick. Doing takeout made it perfect though. read more
