100% avoid! Do not go here! The food is over priced and not worth it. The biggest issue is that there was SHELLS IN THE RAVIOLI!!!!!! That is one of the most dangerous things that you can do when it comes to lobster, is leaving the shells on inside the ravioli. I called the restaurant, and spoke to a manager, he did apologize, but seemed like that he could care less. He didn't even try and offer a refund after I told him that I had to throw half my dinner away. He said oh well, it happen we make as much as we do. I've ordered here a couple times via UberEats and I haven't been disappointed so far. I work the night shift so my sleep schedule is very uneven and there are days where I wake up too late to order from most restaurants. The fact that they accept orders until 12AM is a godsend. At first, I can honestly say I had low expectations because most quality restaurants close by 9-10PM the weekdays. The only food options that tend to be open during the late hours are either Chinese Food or Fast Food. To my surprise, the food immediately exceeded my expectations. The pastas were creamy and flavorful. The fried zucchini kept it's crunchiness and had a nice light batter. The macaroni bites were just fine as well. I thought the Linguine Carbonara was the highlight. From my own experience, I've been greatly satisfied with the food I've had from here. Food Service Ambience Well it seems from the reviews that their not consistent with their food quality. Sometimes great and sometimes not , well it does have to do with the persons making the food. Whoever the chef or cooks are then just need to be prepared to be more disciplined detailed and focused on the preparation of the ingredients and flavors and techniques on the dishes. Otherwise, you get reviews that are ambiguous.Management needs to have quality control and consistency assurance on everything that leaves their premises. If not you get what you get. Sometimes smiles and sometimes disappointments. So since this is going to be my first order from Montclair Pasta Company. I will put in a order of Blackened Shrimp on Capellini with sautéed garlic and oil and a side order of Spinach with white beans sautéed in garlic and oil. Everything seasoned very well. Can't speak to the service as we ordered takeout. Out of everything I ordered. I liked about half of it. The Lobster & Shrimp Ravioli was actually very good just extremely small portions for the price. The Caesar Salad was very good. The dressing could've been blended better, I love anchovies but not everyone does and it wasn't mixed well enough for it to emulsify at least not the night we ordered. The dressing, which was on the side, was tasteless and had started to separate because it was either old, unrefrigerated, or both. The "tenderloin" was a thin-cut sandwich steak, and was ice cold. I have always ordered through Uber Eats, and I get Penne Vodka Pasta with Crispy Chicken and sometimes a chocolate soufflé. The Pasta and dessert are delicious. The pasta is creamy with the perfect texture, and the chicken is nice and crispy. For the dessert, Amazing taste, and I love the ice cream and sauce that comes with it. My only food complaint is the soufflé always comes in different sizes, and it gets upsetting to be receiving something so small (smaller than the size of a palm) while being expensive. For the service, I understand being short staff and unable to send orders out on time. But I would prefer to have a clear response to when my order would be ready when I call/ asked in person. Having to wait more than 45 minutes while I could've been working is quite upsetting and the response is "soon" isn't great. I will say no one was extremely rude but it was more of the vague responses that makes me feel frustrated. Wow... I am just completely shocked how I was just treated by this place. My family and I are loyal customers and I'm so upset I'm shaking right now... We ordered through Uber eats tonight because they had the buy one get one offer like they normally do. However, when the big brown bag stapled shut showed up we only had one order of rigatoni (we did have everything else we ordered but just missing the other rigatoni entree). I called this place and explained the issue and then they put me on with the almighty "General Manager"... The almighty "General Manager" went on to tell me I'm a liar and that she packaged the order herself and then hung up on me. I called back 3 more times to try to explain and ask if she stapled the bag or did Uber and all calls went to voicemail. On the 4th call she answered and knew exactly who I was (so I guess they have caller ID) and said I'm a liar again and what not. I said "Ma'am please just let me say something, it's not about the money at all it's about the principle. Not only did you charge me double for the buy one get one but you only gave me one entree." She went off again about how it's not her fault and she's been packing bags for years yada yada yada and I should call uber because it's their problem not hers. The pasta is fantastic and we have loved this place for sometime. However has anyone else noticed that the "family bundles" have shrunk dramatically? Without question we would give Montclair Pasta Company a "5 out of 5" but to label a meal as a family bundle that has shrunk nearly in half at the same price; that's deceptive. Even the salad was only 2/3rd full in the smaller container. Great food but just be aware that a "family bundle" will feed 3-4 max and not the historical 5-6 from even this past summer. read more

The pasta here is absolutely delicious! It taste fresh and they give you a decent portion ( it can honestly feed two people). I recommend the penne vodka with blackened chicken and the herbed ricotta. The only reason why I don't give this place 5 stars is because it's very pricey and they are super stingy with the sauce.
