A very convenient stop by Hillsboro, TN Love's Travel Stops…read morewas founded in 1964 by Tom and Judy Love in Watonga, Oklahoma. They started with a single leased gas station and grew into a major chain of travel centers, opening their first interstate location in 1981. Today, Love's operates more than 600 locations across 42 states They are concentrated mainly in the Central and Southern US (especially Texas, Oklahoma, the Midwest, and Southeast). I have stopped at several of these stations in my travels. They are consistent in being fairly clean and well stocked with pleasant staff. This location followed the same attributes. It was right off the interstate. So it was easy-on/easy-off There were gas pumps under shade and a store with parking in front. For travellers with dogs, they have a fenced-in area for dogs next to the pumps. They share the building with Hardees in case you want to get a fast food meal and they have extra parking to the side. The pumps and store were clean although it was busy. The bathrooms were reasonably clean and the staff was pleasant. Overall, a good place to stop for a bathroom break or to get a snack or gas.

Open 24 and combined with a Hardee's, anytime I head out of town in the morning hours, you can usually find me here to top off the tank and fill my belly. It is a travel stop, so heavy foot traffic and usually fairly busy. As with most other travel stops, they have a variety of goods outside of snacks and drinks to include clothing, personal items, a few electronics, souvenirs, etc... The store is in good condition only showing the basic wear and tear you have at a travel stop. Cleanliness is usually pretty solid, however the bathrooms and parking lot needed attention on my recent stops. Overall, Love's are great spots and I appreciate this location for those trips!

Coolers full of juices and sodas, a cooler with grab-and-go snacks. I did not need any fuel today but the store shares the building with a McDonald's that has a drive through. Most folks seemed to understand that when they were lined up for the drive-through menu to not block traffic but others not so much. Restrooms were clean as was the parking area. One thing I found a little confusing was that the sign pointing to the restrooms was actually past the women's restroom, so I walked right by it before realizing I had already passed it. Once I found it, I was happy to see there was no line, and this location had quite a few more restroom stalls than the last Love's we stopped at. It was also much cleaner, which I definitely appreciated. I also signed up for the rewards program after seeing that you can save money on gas with cents off per gallon discounts. Unfortunately, the discount wasn't working at the pump, which was frustrating because saving on gas was the whole reason I signed up. My husband was getting impatient, so we decided not to mess with it and just paid full price. Hopefully, it'll work at our next stop.

1 STAR -- MAYBE CHECK THE TRUCK BEFORE DIAGNOSING IT ‍…read more Love's Truck Care in Mt. Juliet, TN... you guys seriously need to send somebody back to brake school. I came in for a simple TRAILER BRAKE ADJUSTMENT. Before even properly looking at my trailer, I was told I needed NEW SLACK ADJUSTERS. Apparently they have X-ray vision now and can diagnose bad parts from across the shop. Then they told me they wouldn't adjust the trailer brakes. Alright... no problem. I called a third-party mobile mechanic. He showed up, actually looked at the brakes, made the adjustment, and was DONE IN UNDER 2 MINUTES. Two minutes. No new slack adjusters. No parts cannon. No big repair bill. Just someone who knew how to adjust the brake. If you're going to tell an owner-operator that parts need replacing, maybe actually inspect the equipment first. Truck drivers already lose enough time and money on the road. We shouldn't have to worry about being told we need parts before anyone even checks the truck. Love's Mt. Juliet: before trying to sell truckers new parts, maybe invest in some training and teach the shop how trailer brakes and slack adjusters actually work. Save yourself the headache. Based on my experience, if you need a simple trailer brake adjustment, call a mobile mechanic. He might have you back on the road before Love's finishes telling you what parts they think you need. ONE STAR. The mobile mechanic earned the other four.

In this area of town, the gas station choices are less than stellar and this spot plays right into that unfortunately. For those who know Love's, you normally expect a large sprawling parking lot filled with copious gas pumps, a bright and expansive interior with many bathrooms, etc...along with all the goods of a truck stop gas station. Sadly, this Love's is a small version of that major Love's stop you are familiar with. There are not enough pumps and the lot is way too small for the amount of traffic that comes in and out. It is really nice to be able to swing right off the interstate for some gas, but you have to be careful as the amount of trucks and standard traffic doing the same can be overwhelming at times...and there isn't a lot of room for mistakes. I will agree with the other reviews about the interior being well kept and well clean. I did appreciate that, and the service from the counter was not bad. Overall, swing by as needed but never seek this spot out.
