First time at Montecanti. What initially sparked the curiosity to try this restaurant was seeing it always full every time I would drive by. I'm talking about having tables setup outside on the parking lot full! If it's always that full it must be good right? RIGHT!! Decided to call ahead and make an early lunch reservation. Didn't want to risk of having to wait forever. As soon as we arrived our part of 4 was seated right away. The host who answered was very nice and so was our waitress, Lidia I believe was her name. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. Food came out quickly. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The music is a bit on the loud side. The restaurant is very clean and I truly valued that. They have a vast variety of wine options and their food portions are heavily generous. If your thinking of sharing your meal, share your meal! The appetizers we ordered were: - SALTED COD CROQUETTES (Homemade Cod Croquettes, Served with Garlic and Coriander Sauce) - SERRANO HAM CROQUETTES (Made with Imported Serrano Ham, Served with Alioli Sauce) As our main dishes we ordered: - MONTECATINI PIZZA (Tomato Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella, Burrata, Natural Tomato Prosciutto, Laminated Garlic, Fresh Basil) - GARLIC CHICKEN BREAST (Chicken Sauteed with Olive Oil, Garlic and Lemon Juice) - PARMESAN CHICKEN (Chicken Breast with Parmesan Crust, Topped with Tomato Sauce and Cheese Gratin) - Chef Suggestion: Almond & Pesto Crusted Sea Bass Fillet (Grilled Almond & Pesto-Crusted Sea Bass Fillet with Creamy Lemon Butter Sauce) Dessert: All of the dishes were delicious, you can tell they were made with the freshest ingredients. My friend who ordered the Parmesan Chicken mentioned how it was evident that the sauce was homemade. The portions were so huge that none of us were able to finish our dishes. Soo delicious. I highly recommend! I've gone back multiple times. Seriously I can't recommend any one item on their menu, everything I've tried has been so good! The food was at best, alright. I am only writing this review because our server Joel was very nice, I went with my parents and my son and he was very patient and polite the entire time while they took their time understanding their way toooooo long menu. I started with the Alfredo fettuccini that was so clearly dry and tasteless, it made the insipid salmon that was on top actually edible. We also ordered a Tabla Ibérica, the manchego cheese tasted like frost bite cheese but not as bad as the over stale Prosciutto slices they put. They added 3 dry flatbreads that looked delicious, but had no seasoning or flavor. My son ordered the fettuccini Parmeggiano from the cheese wheel and I will admit it did taste good and was very creamy. My dad ordered the grilled chicken with veggies and tostones and the tostones were greasy and slimy, the chicken was room temperature and the vegetables overcooked. My mom ordered the spinach fettuccini, she said it tasted bland, no flavor to the sauce on the pasta. I really don't like writing bad reviews, I love going out to eat and enjoying the melting pot of delicious cultures and foods, Miami has to offer but this place needs a new chef or more flavor in their "Cuban Italian cuisine fusion" if you want real Italian food, don't go to this restaurant. read more

Visited this restaurant on New Year's Day. I found it in Google maps, it's on the corner so you won't miss it. I didn't have a reservation and luckily they are had a table for 3. The ambiance was very nice and our server was extremely nice and attentive. We ordered the cheese balls and the tostones with shrimp for appetizer, both were yummy. You will get a fresh baguette with olive oil and balsamic, it was a good bread. For dinner, we had the kids fettuccini, which is more than enough for a teenager, their portions are really big and you can share a normal entree. The couple next to us was celebrating their 32 year anniversary, and it turns out the restaurant has a charming tradition of singing "Happy Birthday" frequently.
