Steak fajitas with all salsa options

I kept seeing this place voted as the best Mexican food in Knoxville so I had to try it. Unfortunately, it did not live up to that reputation. The food was not terrible at all, but definitely underwhelming. However, service was awesome! There are a few places in Knoxville that I would consider to be better Mexican food options but this isn't the worst by far.

I came here with my best friend for dinner, I was literally passing through on the way to tail of the dragon. The place did not look fancy, but the food was super good. The service was a little slow for a Wednesday night but it was fairly packed. I still am give 5 stars because my food was amazing. I would be happy to eat here again.

This is a really good Mexican restaurant in this area... I really liked this place. The service was good. The food was good. The restaurant was clean and had an upbeat vibe. Worth a visit when in the neighborhood.

#8 combo; pork tamale and chicken enchilada. Both on point!

Came through town on a work project and stayed at a nearby hotel. Everything about this establishment is amazing! Manny is an awesome server. Very attentive and efficient, as with all of the other staff. Yummy house margaritas and micheladas! Both of our meals were absolutely on point; on par with the southern Cali style we've missed since moving to the upland south from the south-west. Cute decor. Will def be back next time we're in the area!!!

Traffic was backed up, I was craving some Mexican food and I found this little gem right off the highway. It was a quick stop, table for one and I was approached immediately. The owners son has taken over and he was working so hard to make it all happen. A ton of people came in and he got everyone seated, greeted and served asap. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and oh my!! Yummy!! Huge portions and full of protein and veggies. The chips and salsa were top notch too!! It is a family run business with minimal decor but who cares. I was there for the food and it was a hit. I'll be back with family and friends for sure!!

Very good. Most of what's in the picture though is their chips , salsa and the queso cheese. Very good.

Best Mexican food in the state of Tennessee. I had the taco salad which when I've ordered it in the past from other Mexican restaurants, it's always very greasy or no flavor and it always costs extra to get guacamole and sour cream and I always leave a lot on my plate because it's usually nasty. NOT here, I ate it ALL!! I love this place. I don't care where you live, it's well worth the drive!!! You will be very pleased. This was my third time and it WILL NOT BE MY LAST!!!

All were delicious, but I would come back for the BigShrimpin' taco. If you like buffalo sauce and blue cheese, it worked so well with the crispy fried shrimp. Yum! The hubby liked the chorizo tater tot taco. Friendly, delicious, good prices, and faster than fast food. Great work, Chivo!!

Started with salsa & chips. The chips came out warm and the salsa (both green and red) tasted soooo fresh. You can tell everything is made in house. I had steak fajitas for my main course and I'm not exaggerating when I say they were the best fajitas I've ever had! The steak was extremely flavorful and juicy. It came with hot tortillas and all the toppings you could want. My husband ordered 3 tacos (codfather, big shrimpin & tators gonna tate). All were amazing! The service here was also exceptional. The food came out shockingly fast and sooner than expected. The staff was kind and attentive. Bartender Maddie was excellent! This place really exceeded my expectations and will be a regular stop when we're in town. 10/10 Chico love u

First, I thought I had reviewed them already-- so if I do two, that's why…read more I'm giving this 5 stars relating it to other SIMILAR places-- that is, Mexican restaurants within a grocery store--- i.e. more limited menu (although their's is pretty broad), not full bar-service (but they have beer), and not fancy. For what it is-- it is really scrumptious. I had a few tacos, a ceviche tostada and a beer. BIG lunch-- I took one taco home. All the items were really chock-ful of meat. The carnitas on that taco was way too much to be able to pick up the taco with it all inside. They had a good mix of onions and cilantro on them, although I'd have preferred to add my own (I LOVE cilantro). I wish it was nearer; I'd go back often.

The salsa and chips--- First bite tasted like tomato paste to me, very tangy and had a kick of spice. Chips were warm. No Guacamole!!!! What Mexican place has no guac? Chimichanga de pollo-- Shredded chicken with some onions, peppers and covered in cheese sauce. Fajitas mixta-- Steak was a little tough and chicken was very thin slices. Lacked some spices. More onions, green peppers and tomatoes than meat. It wasn't bad, but for our taste we have had better. The whole meal lacked spices. Would we recommend? Yes, give it a try, you might like it. Salsa is good but it's too tomato pastey for us.
