I placed an order with 1800flowers who relies on local florist like Montgomery Village Florist to create and deliver bouquet orders. I placed an order of two different sets of flowers for Mother's Day. Attached are the photos of what I received Vs what I ordered. There is a clear difference in size, color and quality. Upon arrival, there were wilted and broken stems as well as scratched and dying petals. Also the flowers in the vase do not match what the order description. Not sure if there was some kind of mix up between the orders but you can see the pink vase is missing roses and peruvian lillies but has carnations when it shouldn't. Further more my flowers don't seem fresh. This is very disappointing. I raised my issues with 1800flowers and they said they would fix it by ordering a replacement for me. But shortly after someone from this florist called me asking why I had a problem with my order and that they would come tomorrow to take it back, which is fine as long as it's replaced with what I ordered. But why not just give out quality work the first time so you don't waste everyone else's time? I hope they make it right this time. Will update review tomorrow afternoon with better news hopefully.

I shouldn't have been so surprised when I came on YELP (as promised to the snappy woman who answered their phone) to see they have such a crappy rating already. Here's the situation, I sent sympathy flowers to a friend who lost her pet of 16 years. I know, some of you are going to say "it's a dog, get over it" and some will understand. I ordered from 1800Flowers (which at least offered me $20 off my next order, like I'm going to do THAT again) but this broad acted like it was the mistake of her driver. REALLY?? So the driver isn't employed by you, so that makes everything ok? I'm attaching a screen shot of the response I got from my friend. Thankfully she has a good sense of humor, but she's also in the hospitality industry like myself so her point was "This wasn't a time for an error. You used them because you felt a sense of urgency to get these flowers to me quickly, and accurately." Bottom line, they screwed up and refuse to take responsibility. That's a company full of BS. Spend your money with someone who actually cares to get it right, OR MAKE IT RIGHT!!

The only thing I can say about this florist is that they delivered on the correct day. I was to receive a 70th birthday celebratory bouquet from my sister in Pennsylvania. I could tell right away that the flowers looked droopy. I told my sister and she contacted her Pennsylvania florist who ordered from this florist in Maryland. They contacted Montgomery Village florist, but never heard back. Fortunately, they contacted a better florist to set me a beautiful bouquet. By day three, the flowers from Montgomery Village florist were drooping and totally unpresentable. I would never use this florist again!

so... The only thing I can say about this florist is they delivered the flowers on the correct day. Immediately, I realized the flowers looked somewhat wilted and would probably age within 24 hours. These were flowers that my sister sent me in celebration of my 70th birthday. I advised her how the flowers looked and whoever she ordered the flowers from in Pennsylvania contacted Montgomery Village florist, but never heard back from them. By day two, the flowers were completely wilted. Fortunately, another florist was contacted and I received a beautiful bouquet to celebrate my birthday.

Peace lily plant delivered by Montgomery Village Florist March 30 for remembrance service. Still looking good!

We received this spectacular Peace Lily in March. It was even fuller and came with a beautiful oversized bow. Wish I'd thought to take a picture when it arrived, but was distracted by arrangements for my mom's burial service.

No words needed... Do the pink tulips (that were delivered) look anything like the white tulips (which I had ordered)? Yes, this picture was taken a couple days after delivery, yet it does not come close to what I ordered!

Thank you for the beautiful funeral spray, this was much more stunning in person! We appreciate your flexibility for moving it up a day!

We were blown away by the beautiful casket spray from Montgomery Village Florist! Simply stunning! Thank you being flexible and delivering it a day early, as well!

I received flowers on Saturday an arrangement including five roses alstroemeria and delphinium. . . I will never recommend or order flowers from Montgomery florist again and now I see why their ratings are so poor. The photos are Tuesday morning. I called Sunday and Monday to report the problem and it's Been too long without any kind of response

I found Montgomery village floors by accidentally as I was driving around the area. I needed to order 10 flower arrangement. From ordering to receiving our flowers I was accommodated superfluously in choosing the freshest and most gorgeous flower arrangement for an excellent deal! The store owner has superior background knowledge in the floral area as well as, excellent customer relations! I will be returning to Montgomery village Florist and gift baskets for all of my floral needs!

I have been trying to call this place during the open hours and only get the answering service. I received flowers a day late and half dead. Answering service continues to say that they will send a message to the florist to get back to me, but no one ever calls. After doing some research, this company apparently operates under multiple names and has been ripping people off with not delivering flowers for some time now.

I have now received several arrangements from this florist. The flowers are fresh and vibrant. They are beautifully arranged.

Friends Wedding Reception We needed a florist for these special occasions and we wanted to make sure that they were close so that the flowers stayed fresh. I posted a project on Yelp and was immediately contacted by Maria. This let me know they were prompt for one, but she was super helpful and friendly. This sealed the deal for us. I had reached out months in advance for this because I wanted to ensure nothing went wrong and that I had time to fix it if it did. Maria not only offered her opinions and suggestions but also gave me feedback on ideas that we were playing with and or considering. Communication and service was top tier as she checked in with me throughout the weeks leading up to the events and most important days of our lives. We also chose delivery and she arrived promptly every single time! She knocked it out of the park on all of our expectations and she's just a wonderful person to work with. My wife was so pleased with the bouquet and boutonniere used for our special wedding events. The pictures speak for themselves! Maria even sent pictures of the bouquet beforehand to ensure we loved what we saw. This was a 10 out of 10 experience for us and I highly recommend them -- SupaFlyITGuy approved! - i have been continually impressed by the communication as she never left me wondering when they would arrive and put all of my questions and concerns to rest with ease. It's the kind of experience you hope for every time but know that it is super rare to experience this level of dedication to the craft and it should be recognized thank you for a top-notch experience the value for money is excellent, as everything is fresh and beautifully arranged. Maria helped with the boutonniere instructions and even gave me a pin that was easier to use the next time around. I placed the order online, scheduled pick up, and moved on with my life. Unfortunately, I received an email about 5 days before I was due to pick up the arrangement essentially advising that my selection was no longer available because the flowers wouldn't be in season the month of December. Huh? They explained that they would do their best but I asked for a refund instead. Apparently there was a website issue that allowed the purchase to go through but shouldn't have. Disappointed and frustrated, I placed a last minute birthday order with a large corporation and tried to put the matter behind me. Well color me surprised when the Flowers & Fancies team sent me an arrangement to apologize for the error. I was shocked, surprised, and necessarily reminded that mistakes happen and it's best to have patience and understanding, especially for local, well meaning businesses. The arrangement provided is gorgeous and makes the one I ordered from a large corporation just doesn't compare. Thank you to Heather and the Flowers & Fancies team for making it right. I look forward to supporting in the future.

https://genesfrederickfloristmd.com/…read more I actively chose this florist over a national chain because I believe in supporting local businesses. I will not be making that mistake again, and after what I have since uncovered, I am confident that mistake was not merely bad luck, but rather the entirely predictable outcome of doing business with an operation that has turned incompetence into a business model. I ordered same-day delivery for a bouquet intended to surprise my girlfriend at her office. The occasion was specific and meaningful: she had spent the day leading an important meeting, and I wanted the flowers waiting for her as a celebration of that accomplishment when the day was done. A gesture of thoughtfulness. A simple transaction. Or so I believed. Hours after placing the order, I received a text from the owner that delivery could not happen that day. The reason given? A broken-down truck. How tragically inconvenient. How remarkably well-rehearsed, as it turns out. That single failure immediately detonated a cascade of consequences the owner appeared entirely unprepared to manage. He suggested delivering to my girlfriend's office the following day, which meant I had to contact my girlfriend directly to confirm her schedule. She is not an idiot. The surprise was dead before the flowers had left the cooler. As fate would further compound things, she wasn't going into the office that day anyway. The owner then proposed delivering to her apartment instead. I want to be unambiguous: this was never the arrangement. The workplace delivery was not incidental: it was the entire architecture of the gesture. A surprise at the office, after a triumphant day, carries a meaning that a bouquet sitting outside an apartment door simply does not replicate. But I was already several steps deep into a problem entirely of this business's making, so I agreed. Apartment delivery. New address provided. The owner confirmed the new location via text. Or so I was led to believe. My girlfriend, now fully aware that a delivery was coming, the surprise having been thoroughly autopsied and buried at this point, stayed home the entire following day. She canceled errands. She arranged her day around being present for this delivery. She waited. They delivered the flowers to the office. I will allow that to sit for a moment, because it deserves the space. After failing on day one with a suspiciously convenient mechanical excuse, after destroying the element of surprise through sheer logistical ineptitude, after explicitly confirming a corrected delivery address, this florist looked at that address, considered it, and sent the flowers somewhere else entirely. This is not a clerical error. This is an operational failure so thorough it borders on performance art. When I contacted the owner to address this second consecutive failure, I was not met with urgency. I was not met with embarrassment. I was not met with any discernible acknowledgment that two failures in a row might warrant something beyond a casual suggestion to try again tomorrow. A same-day correction, I was told, was simply not possible. The proposed remedy? Another delivery to the apartment. The apartment whose address they had just spectacularly ignored. At this juncture, I would sooner trust a golden retriever with a mailing label. My girlfriend, who had already had her surprise ruined, her day restructured, and her patience tested, ended up traveling to the office to collect the flowers herself. She ran an errand so that this florist did not have to. And then I made the mistake of reading their other reviews. The broken-down truck. There it is again. And again. A recurring prop in what appears to be a well-worn theatrical production, staged for the benefit of customers who have no idea they are not the first audience to sit through this particular show. I am not the first person to be handed this excuse. I am not the first person to be given the runaround across multiple days, multiple failed promises, and multiple confirmations that apparently carry no binding weight whatsoever. This is not a business experiencing a string of bad luck. This is a business that has discovered that apologizing is cheaper than accountability. As someone who has spent a career studying the relationship between language and meaning, I want to say plainly: the word "confirmed" should mean something. "Delivery address" should mean something. "Same-day" should mean something. Words are not decorative. They are commitments. And a business that deploys them without honoring them is not merely incompetent: it is dishonest. The transactional premise of commerce is not complicated: money is exchanged for goods and services rendered as agreed. I fulfilled my obligation the moment I paid. Three days, two failed deliveries, one recycled excuse, zero accountability, a ruined surprise, and an unnecessary errand later, this florist did not come close to fulfilling theirs. 0/5 stars.
