Just wanted to update on this trip. There were some issues I wanted to keep note of…read more In room 304, the room had green tea and regular tea option, but it did not have both caffeinated and decaffeinated options. For coffee both options were available, but why not the teas? Still, better options than hotels that currently only offer coffees in the rooms (they still have the coffee machine!). The heat pump did not have AC (the cool option would not even turn on). Instead, the machine would switch from heat to fan. In the morning, this made for a hot atmosphere after a shower. Additionally, the digit numbers on the display had numbers that were not full meaning I could not tell a difference between a 68 and a 69. The outlets, wall and on the lamp both did not work. The lamp itself did not work. The bathroom, the light flickers if left on for some time. The water pressure was also a bit odd. So the hot water has different levels of pressure and coming out of the faucet, while the cold water came out slower and with less pressure. This was apparent in both the sink and shower. All these are maintenance issues. Note to self: This hotel does not have the Travel Channel, but does have the History Channel and a good sports channel package with CBSSN, ESPNU, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN U, FS1 and SEC networks.

The pontoon boat was a comfortable way to cruise, although I would advise EXTRA time if you intend to grill supper on the boat...I'm sure the regulators are there for people who may not camp often, but it shouldn't take 45 minutes to cook brats :-p They stayed in the "motel" style cottage which had a nice view of the sunset on the lake. Everything was well-kept and clean. And, they managed to catch a few fish during their stay! A very easy, scenic drive from the Nashville area, I'd definitely consider spending a weekend here!

After a young boy delivered our meals (minus our salad) to the wrong table then brought them over to us...a few minutes later our waitress came up and said "here's your salad", then walked away! She never returned to ask about our meals, until she brought our check. The food...my sirloin was ordered as medium but arrived nearly rare. The Mac & Cheese was watery and had no flavor. The baked potato was ordered with extra butter but definitely did not have it. We also ordered a ribeye steak (that costs $34) that was extremely fatty. 7/16/2026: Prices on the Boathouse @ Conley Bottom website are not updated. I.e. the sirloin is listed on the website menu as $22.99 but in the restaurant it is $24..99. Would not recommend!!

I was able to tell her…read moreall the information to make it; however, when I asked for a confirmation, she was quick to respond that she was doing many things at once and that it would take time to send a confirmation email. Customer service wise, if you pick up the phone, you need to either put the guest on hold, while you finish what you are doing with another guest. Do not try to take a reservation and then state that "I cannot do this right now because I am doing too many things at once." It came off so rude. Anyway, I was able to get the confirmation, the email I requested never had shown up, and so i had to jot down the number from an individual who was already irritated. OMG, it is not my problem you were irritated because you were not trained well to prioritize workload! Coming from an hour and a half away, it is kind of important to feel secure that the hotel I am making a reservation at will book me and have a room available. I was a bit thrown... I travel here and I notice that the first Hampton Inn sign (turned perpendicular) to the entrance that serves two hotels (Holiday Inn, Aldi, and Hampton Inn) is a bit misplaced. I ended up in the Aldi's parking lot because it was in front of it. I end up coming inside and a guy takes my information and gets me the room keys. Everything smooth there. I then ask because I see on Google Reviews and on here, it is not stated very well; however, breakfast at this Hampton Inn is completely free. I know with some Hilton brand and Marriott brand hotels, one has to be on a member tier to be able to get it free. If not, they will have to pay full price. Luckily, this is not the case here. Just wanted to make that clear. The cable options in the room are amazing. Good t.v. guide with title of the show and alphabetically ranged (*note for myself, they have The Travel Channel). 126 channels in all! 04/16/2026 The breakfast was not bad. They had a variety of make your own (waffles and cinnamon buns) and then these black seed lemon tarts in the plastic display. The hot foods were breakfast cups (bread with egg used as spread), bacon strips (which were actually crispy and cooked well), and lemon potato wedges (I was not too fond of them). If one were to keep going, they would have all the cereals. Another big thing is the cut fruit. I was taking bowls of that. Probably the only time I actually care enough to get my fruit portion in. Comparing to a Quality Inn's breakfast, they definitely have Hampton Inn beat on the potato wedges. I wish Quality Inns would cook the bacon like this Hampton Inn had done, though. I feel like hotel breakfasts have pretty much the same ingredients, just done up more in Hiltons (Hampton Inn). Egg beater yellow (folded) eggs that may come scrambled at Quality Inn, will be liquified on the bread to make the cups. The potato wedges will be more cooked (not fried) and have lemon juice squeezed on them. The cut fruit may actually be cut by someone or bought from a store, pre cut, instead of a served in a Dole fruit cup (which is more preserved) and placed in a fridge. They do not give tea options in the rooms; however, I found that they had unique Cranberry tea (have not seen that in other hotels in Kentucky) along with Lemon Ginger. They also have herbal, black, green (I think) and earl grey.

The first visit we stayed during covid in December so it was just our group of 4 and one other couple staying in the resort. It was nice because it felt so private. We stayed in the resort rooms and we were surprised with how nice they are. Everything was clean. It was a bit small but we made it work. The second visit we stayed in their cabins and preferred it more. we got 2 bedrooms and each one had 2 beds so all of us slept comfortably. I loved that the cabin comes with a full kitchen and table so we spent our night playing board games. The park itself has so much to do. There are tons of hiking trails, horseback riding and even boat tours that take you up close to the waterfall. You have to go to the Moon bow at least once in your lifetime. It's when the moon hits the water at the right angle and you see a rainbow at night. It is a cool experience but it does get really crowded so you may want to come early. Cumberland Falls gave me unrealistic expectations for state parks because this what I feel like most state parks should be like.

We appreciated the hotel providing the first floor for my disabled wife. We did NOT appreciate the 7am construction RIGHT outside our window and RIGHT in the blocked EV charging lot. I chose this hotel and paid extra specifically because there was an EV charger. This place only has two, and blocking one is not cool. Starting construction outside my room while I have a disability that doesn't handle that isn't cool (that's not cool at ANY hotel). The digger was also perilously close to my car. A minor complaint - there were supposed to be two water bottle in our room. There weren't. The room was SIXTY degrees. I have brand loyalty to a fault. Once you piss me off, I have no reason to trust you again. You pissed me off. And at twice the price. Oh Hampton Inn...I remember paying extra for you twenty years ago and feeling good about it. Not ever. Not ever again. I can't say this forcefully enough. I stay in a lot of hotels, and I like to support companies that do well. You have left this support. While I appreciate accommodating my wife's disability by putting us in the first floor, my own disability (and probably every other human) can't tolerate construction sounds at 7am just outside their windows. I'm embarrassed for this hotel. Gross. My family and I will use our money more selectively in the future.
