I needed to transport my vehicle from Pennsylvania to California and after reading many reviews from different companies I had very low expectations and was expecting the worst from any transport service. Keep in mind I had low expectations and I was expecting to get ripped off. I took a chance with Montway. I booked online. Probably via an AI bot. I made a deposit and purchased insurance because why not if I'm going to get ripped off. Day before pickup - the transporter calls me and gives me the address of the pickup location. I had to drive 30 minutes into an open area. Makes sense since there's no way for a large 18-wheeler to park in an inner city. Day of pickup - Jason from LA was very chill. Examined my vehicle and I signed it away. Saw it load onto the truck. This was either the last time I was going to see my vehicle...or so I thought. I placed an AirTag in the car somewhere just in case. I checked it daily. Jason from LA is a beast. He drove across the US in 3 days. Wow. Amazing. He gets it done. I get a call the day before pickup. He said he will be at my residence at 7am. 7am - on the dot this man calls me. He's out front with my vehicle. I inspect, I sign, I pay the remainder, he gives me my keys. No frills. Efficient. My experience is clearly different than most others. So based on my experience I would recommend. 10/10. read more

Then, in the middle of the day less than 24 hours before pickup, they emailed that my pcikup had been canceled. I've already packed and readied my car to be picked up. Driver was extremely unprofessional. Barely knew how to drive a car with a manual transmission even after I was assured it would be no problem. Did not communicate at all. I had to call the carrier company 3 times to get a pickup window because they don't answer the phone. He was still outside that window by almost an hour. Was over a day late to drop off. I was told to expect the 14th. I had to call the company multiple times throughout the day because they sent me to voicemail every time. When I finally got someone on the phone they told me to expect the 14th at 10pm or the 15th before noon. It arrived on the 15th at 9pm. The driver still made no attempt to communicate and then had the nerve to demand an extra $50, I ended up giving him $905 which was not the "confirmed" "30-day guarantee" price of $853 I was told to expect. He drove my car incredibly recklessly and dangerously. Reversing 4 blocks while nearly redlining the tachometer the whole time. I will never use this Montway or 1MD Express Inc again. They informed me that they would cancel it, but I needed to retrieve the car from their agent in California. I collected my vehicle and paid $100 in cash. When I asked them to refund me the $1500 transportation fee, they gave me back $1250 and withheld $250 as a cancellation fee. Since 6/3, my car has not moved, carrier doesn't pick up calls, driver doesn't pick up calls, and getting someone on the phone from Montway is nearly impossible. Montway ended up connecting with the carrier and informed me that the delivery would be on 6/15. I'm writing this review as of 6/15 with my vehicle still in the same lot. Montway again connected with the carrier and informed me that the updated delivery is 6/19 - 6/20. Am I supposed to believe that within 4-5 days, my vehicle will be transported cross country? He would never respond after the first text. They don't respond to email. You get different information from different people if you can even reach someone live which is hard. Since I booked in March gas prices went up but they posted my job to carriers using a non competitive price so no carrier would take the job...and didn't tell me. I used Montway to ship my car from California to Maryland. I was told by the sales department that my car would be in an enclosed carrier, and that it wouldn't be moved during the cross-country trip. That was a lie. My car was not only moved, but it was also taken off the carrier enough times that I received in in Maryland with an additional mile added to the odometer. The car was fully detailed when I dropped it off with Montway, when I received it the car was completely dirty on the outside (rain, bird poop, etc), and inside (the driver's dirty boot prints on the driver's door and floor, and the driver keep the driver's window open, so the inside was dusty. A practically brand-new car completely mistreated. I spoke with customer service and a manager sent me a text offering a $25.00 coupon. No apology, nothing. Terrible communication! I made a quote 3 months prior to my move, inquiring about pricing and service. I wanted to make sure everything worked out within the timing and budget we had, so reserved this early in advancd. As it was getting closer to date they kept rising the price of the original quote, even within the 30 days that they claim they honor. They made us give them a 5 day window to find a driver, then when it was 2 days closer to our final window date, they told us they had a carrier that could come between 3-6pm. We waited the entire day to be contacted, but nothing. We called the carrier several times and Montway but no contact. Montway could not even get in contact with the carrier. When we called to inquiry about what happened they told us to wait again that they should pick up that day from 3-6pm. We were super disappointed given we waited an entire day, and even Montway lost communication with the driver. I couldn't not possibly ship my car to someone who is ghosting their clients even before pick up. They also originally told us they would charge half at pick up and half after delivery, and they charged my card the complete amount a week prior to the pick up without even having a driver asigned. We were just tired...so we ended up canceling the order, and going with a different company that was so profesional, they gave us a time and date, reasonable price even when when it was last minute, plus they kept communication super easy through text. They are TERRIBLE! Stay away! We booked a car transport through them to move our car from WI to CA. We were told when we booked they would pick up our car within a predetermined 5 day window which at that point was about a month away. On day 4 of that 5 day window with no communication we got worried as we were leaving on a plane for CA. After repeated calls and having to escalate the situation and a lot of anger from me, we were finally assigned a carrier who would be picking up the car 2 days after the original agreed upon window. We had to arrange a friend to send the car off which was a pain. The car headed west on a Friday and we were told it would be delivered on Monday. Yay! Nope. Monday afternoon got a call that the truck broke and we'd have to wait. Ok... how long.... They didn't know but would be in touch. The next day we called, truck still broken. The next day we called them. No news, truck still broken. We gave it two more days and called again. Mind you all this communication came from us not the company. We were finally told that the hydraulic system had failed and so our car was stranded (it was on the top of the carrier). But they still had no timeline. Sigh. At this point we were renting a car to get to work. Called again the next day and after much anger finally were told the car was coming that evening. What time we asked? They didn't know... What?!? We then asked about the final payment because we felt some give needed to happen. The dispatcher said they'd call customer service and get back to us. They didn't. We called later in the day but they were now closed. The car was finally delivered at 9:00 pm. We ended up arguing with the driver in the middle of the road over the final balance. Not ok but they also NEVER contacted us. Like ever. We always called them. Montway is a broker. They don't actually transport your vehicle. So if something goes wrong you're left dealing/arguing/disputing with the random person they got to move your car. What a nightmare! Go with a company that actually does the moving, not a broker. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! After shipping my car from Boston to Miami, the driver severely damaged the front of my car while taking it off the lift. The bumper was completely off and the car was not drivable. The driver assured me they would pay for the repairs and asked me to obtain estimates. I provided three repair estimates within one week of delivery, which required me to take time off work. Despite this, the owner refused to pay for any of the damage. I followed up multiple times and eventually stopped receiving responses altogether. I paid $1,100 for shipping and then had to pay an additional $1,700 out of pocket just to get my car fixed so I could drive it. They also refused to refund any portion of the shipping cost, even though the service resulted in a delivery of a damaged, unusable vehicle. This experience was incredibly stressful and disappointing. The damage was clearly caused by their driver, promises were made, and the company ultimately refused to take any responsibility. From the very beginning, I encountered nothing but trouble with Montway. I thought I had made the right choice by selecting them, but I didn't thoroughly research car transporters and later realized that Montway brokers out their loads. If I had known this, I would have never chosen them. Montway initially booked my car for transport, but they dropped the load twice without notifying me the second time it was canceled. Their online interactive app, which is supposed to allow customers to track their vehicle's status, was never functional, which was incredibly frustrating. As a company, if you offer a feature like that, it should work properly. Eventually, my car was picked up in Springfield, MO, and shipped to Millbrook, AL. However, the driver only spoke Russian, which made communication difficult. I was unable to reach anyone at the trucking company; all calls went to voicemail, and despite leaving several messages, I never received a return call. When I contacted Montway to complain about the lack of response from the assigned company, their reply was simply, "Oh, we are so sorry. Keep trying to reach out." That response was of no help at all! It took four days after the booking to receive my car, and I can't help but think that I could have chosen a different company that would have caused me much less stress. read more

I found this company on Google and they were featured in Forbes as a trusted and reputable auto transport company. I wish I would have seen these Yelp reviews prior to contracting them. When I spoke to the sales agent, I was clear that I need the vehicle picked up on or before August 19th and delivered after August 24th to it's destination and I requested for enclosed shipping. The sales agent said that they recommend pick up date of August 15th to ensure there is enough time to find an enclosed carrier by August 19th and for the delivery to take place after the 24th because it takes several business days and they can not guarantee a delivery date. However, if the car is picked up on the 19th, it will arrive after the 24th. I was also told that there is 5 day window for pick up and it would start on the 15th, which didn't leave much time to be picked up by the 19th. But he said that I should be fine because of my location in South Florida. I received this message from them today saying, "This is a courtesy notification regarding your Montway vehicle transport order. We are working to reassign your shipment to a different trucker as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your patience. Immediately after a new carrier has been assigned to your order, you will receive a new Dispatch Notification via email with the trucker's name, phone number, and estimated loading and delivery dates." They also told me that if I wanted to ship the car in open transport instead of enclosed, they can pick it up on the 16th, but can not guarantee me a delivery after the 23rd and I would be charged a storage fee if I can not take delivery of the car on the 23rd. But, if I pay an extra $300 they can guarantee me at pick up date of August 15th or 16th. But can not guarantee me deliver after the 23rd of August. I went from a contract price of $1,709 + $48 for insurance to $2350 for guarantee pick up and storage and possibly more because of the change that was made by them. YES very confusing. The customer service agent that I was dealing with on the phone and a separate one later in a chat were not helpful in the least bit. Things just kept getting more expense. After I canceled my contract per their cancellation agreement, I received a call from their customer service manager who tried to resolve the issue, however, I already booked a different transport company. She was very nice and said that they would honor the contract price and would work on getting me a delivery date after the 24th. She should have been the one I was dealing with originally, they may have been able to keep my business. But by then, the damage was done already because of the first two customer service agents that I dealt with. If they make things this difficult for you on the phone and on the chat, something tells me that the entire experience will not be satisfying. Montway was my broker for shipping through CRST and I cannot strangely enough discourage anyone from working with Montway or the shippers they act as brokers for. My motorcycle was not properly strapped into the delivery shuttle and took almost $3k in damage when it was delivered. I submitted a claim to CRST in June. In August, I was informed by my adjuster, Becky Gard, that the claim was approved and a check was being issued. It's now November, she has ghosted me, and I still haven't received a check or confirmation that it was even issued or sent. Before giving my payment information I asked how much the charge would be and the guy "Mo" said it would be a deposit of $300. When I received my emailed receipt they charged us $839. WHY!? do you have to lie!? I'm so glad I had a credit card and wasn't using my debit card because we'd be broke! The company they contracted to haul our vehicles is called Georgian Transport and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The carrier estimated he would deliver on Saturday afternoon and we said fine. He called the day before and said he'd be there in the morning instead of the afternoon and we all rearranged our schedules. After waiting several hours we contacted him and he said he'd be there a 1 p.m., then it was 2 p.m. then it was 3 p.m. and by 4:30 I was at a boiling point at which time I contacted Montway to complain and told them if he didn't arrive immediately I would be calling Highway Patrol to report two stolen vehicles. As others have said, if I could give zero or negative stars I would. My experience started out by completing their online form and paying via the web. That same day a "carrier was assigned" and estimated pickup was supposed to be the following day. Unfortunately, the carrier never showed I was unable to contact the carrier via the phone numbers Montway sent me. I contacted Montway to find out what happened and leaned that the carrier "had equipment trouble", canceled my pickup, but nobody communicated this to me. With a bad taste in my mouth, I began the process of canceling my Montway order. Several chat sessions and a few lengthy phone calls later I finally was told that had to email info@montway.com to cancel the Montway order (despite the fact that still no carrier was assigned 5 days later). It was at this point that they began to scramble because with no carrier assigned they couldn't hold on to a $250 cancelation fee. First, I received a text message with a phone number marked URGENT. I called back and a dispatcher offered to ship my car tomorrow but in an open trailer (my order and quote was for an enclosed trailer for a very rare classic car). I declined the open trailer, especially since they weren't even offering a lower price for that option. Next, a cancellation manager called me and began trying to talk me out of canceling. I told him that I believe Montway low-balled the price and are now struggling to find a carrier to take my load for the price (something I confirmed by looking at the transportation boards myself). Eventually, he said he would process a FULL refund and I could expect it within 24-48 hours. HOWEVER, I never received a confirmation email for the cancelation as the manager stated I would. Several hours later, I received another email and phone call that they have found another carrier that can pickup my car the next day, but it would cost me $100 more. So needless to say, they hadn't processed my cancelation as they said they would. Like a sucker, I agreed to give them another try with a newly assigned carrier. Once again the assigned carrier could not be contacted by any means and I am skeptical it was even a legitimate carrier. Neither the carrier's dispatch nor driver numbers were answered for over 2 days, and neither number had voicemail setup. I contacted Montway customer service via chat (again) and the agent said Montway couldn't reach the carrier by phone but he would try via email and let me know if he hears back. At this point there is no way I was going to put my rare vehicle on a carrier that neither Montway or I could contact directly. I am disappointed that I fell for giving Montway another chance to scam me. It seems to me that their business model is a scam (or shady at best). I believe the good reviews that lead me to selecting them as a broker are a result of a bot campaign and not real customers. Montway will give you a low-ball quote and assign sketchy carriers that may or may not ship your vehicle. If you cancel after a carrier is assigned, even if they don't show up for pickup, Montway will collect their $250 brokerage fee because a "carrier is assigned" according to their policy. Montway's business model leans heavily on having people contract with them to transport a vehicle and then not providing any service. Absolutely Horrible. Easily the most unprofessional experience ive ever had with a company. I used this company to ship my car across country and on the way my tailgate spoiler somehow flew off. They sent me a picture and said that it wasnt there fault that it was mine - that somehow it was loose. Well i looked at the pictures that were taken at pickup and it looked fine to me! In addition to this, the driver was borderline abusive! Dropping f bombs every couple seconds, wouldnt listen to what i was saying and would just cut me off. Then the customer service when i contacted them about the whole experience, they setup specific hoops for you to jump through and then if your a day late in filing paperwork they refuse to take your complaint. I will say that Karla was extremely helpful within their claims department and really salvaged this experience. Overall Montway is a great budget option to ship your vehicle. Really terrible experience. I was arranging a roundtrip transport for my elderly mother, who is unable to do this herself. We needed to transport the car about 300 miles each way to the closest dealership for specific work (Volvo). I entered all the info, including payment for my mother on her credit card, and they refused to book the transport unless they spoke directly to her. She doesn't speak, and I attempted to explain her disability to them. No form to sign, no alternate way of moving through their lack of being able to deal with a person who has a disability. I'll be reporting them as I believe this to be a violation to the ADA. Really ZERO stars for their lack of empathy to those who are disabled. We went with a veteran owned company in the end and had a great experience. read more

We had two cars to move from Southern California to Texas. I go by reviews heavily, so after reading many, we decided to go with Montway. They gave me a pickup date, and on that date, we received a call from the company that the driver was on his way. An hour later he was there. The driver was easy to talk to and knew his business well. About twenty-seven hours later the cars were in Texas. Great service, great price. Thanks! read more

They dont own the movers. They do third party movers. And then they say anything you want to deal with, deal with the movers. They are the worst customer service. They dont help in filing claims and blame the owners. Please avoid going through them. read more
