The last time I came to Moo & Brew, we were inside and had very bold burgers but this weekend, we visited for an outdoor concert they were helping host for "We are the Mummys ". They are popular band that dresses like mummy with some very catchy tunes. Moo & Brew offered a selection of their food and beers. I was not impressed with the chicken tenders in a city that is known for BBQ and Wings... these reminded me of frozen fried chicken tenders you could get at Dairy Queen lightly covered in buffalo sauce. The pimento cheese and black bean hummus appetizer was very bland which we felt was a lost opportunity to rock a premade tasty thing. The food had a decent quantity of fries, which were excellent, along with the fried banana peppers. I was a little disappointed with the Farmer's Daughter, which is a fried egg on a burger. Not to be confused with the Mew & Boo, which is when my cats whine at me for food and then boo me if I give them Turkey or Beef instead of Chicken or Fish. I don't really love hipster places but this one has a bunch of hot people working here and a lot of good-looking customers of both genders (esp my fave gender) and it's definitely a congregation place for all kinds. As for the food, the burgers are maybe four star burgers - especially for Charlotte where there are not a lot of great burgers (or great food in general, sorry), and the prices are three star (it's overpriced but not nightmarish), but for people watching and their excellent patio it averages out to a 4-star place, and Barbie enjoyed it too even though we didn't stay long when I went with her - but I hang out here for quite a while whenever I'm in Charlotte with my friends, on 2 occasions so far anyway, and we've liked it. read more

I looked at the menu and chose the Brew Braised shroom and swiss burger. I really enjoy mushroom swiss burgers and was looking forward to it. The burger came along with the fries that I ordered (why don't they just come with a side?). The burger was ok. I should have ordered a second patty. Honestly I was unimpressed. One of my favorite parts about this restaurant is you can order a HALF order of the fries (the half order is large and still almost too much for one person). I am writing this review in real time. Heard a lot about this place, so we decided to try it for dinner tonight. Joined the waitlist via yelp and still had a 10 minute wait. Our server is terrible. She is moving so fast that she's fumbling around and spilled an entire tray of food on the guests next to us. I ordered a BYO fried chicken sandwich with garlic parmesan fries. He ordered the fresh produce burger with fries. Food comes out, fries are fantastic. His food is great. My fried chicken sandwich was literally lukewarm and soggy. When I brought it to the attention of our server and requested a fresh one, she replied "I'll heat it up for you." To which I declined and again asked for a fresh sandwich. I was met with "I mean, we can heat it up for you, there's nothing wrong with it." So, you're going to reheat a soggy fried chicken sandwich with mushroom, onion and pickles on it?! Oh, great! I have driven by this place a zillion times and had yet to stop but one day my husband and I went for a walk in Plaza Midwood and checked out the side patio area where you order at the window. The laid back vibe was cool and my hubby was geeked to buy the "brown bag special" which was a surprise canned beer in an actual brown bag. That is really unique and the only place I've ever seen to do that! I just got a draft Pacifico beer and I looked at the menu but it was pretty limited to just burgers and a few appetizers and salads so we just ordered drinks. I don't know if the main menu is any different on the main restaurant side but I was a little disappointed with the lack of variety. Yum!! Came here for a late lunch and they weren't busy. We got sat right away at a high top near the bar area. Our server was friendly and pretty on the ball. I got the BYOB. I got grilled chicken with pimento cheese and some toppings and I added fries to my order. The prices really aren't that bad! I got a side of ranch with my fries. The fries came popping hot and not salty at all. It had a good flavor to it. My chicken was cooked perfect and it wasn't dry. The pimento cheese really added that kick to it. There's a whole dog-friendly outdoor seating area that offers bar access without even going into the restaurant. There is some free parking available off street, but it can fill up and leave you needing to seek other local options for parking. We'll absolutely go here again. I've been coming here for 2 years now. The burgers are good. One of the best ones in Charlotte. They increased prices a little while ago and now they are overpriced but good enough that I keep coming back given the convenience of their location. Biggest problem here is inconsistent customer service. I come here probably an average of once a week. I call to place an order before picking up and 50% of the time they are not answering the phone or answer the phone and leave me on hold for 10+ minutes during which time I'm able to walk to the restaurant and place an order and see they are not doing anything keeping them so busy that they can't take 2 minutes to take a phone order. And then waste 15-20+ minutes of my life waiting for the food. Especially later in the night. Their online order system also doesn't work. This is a simple convenience that in 2023 is ubiquitous and to not have it and ignore people trying to place phone orders is not just bad customer service but disrespectful to customers and their time in my opinion. I hate to complain when the food is good but this is something that needs to be improved and has led to multiple bad experiences here. Not the place to go if you're looking for a quick convenient pick up. read more

I had a Bloody Mary (not the bottomless or the huge version that serves several people). It was good but I found it odd that it was not served with any garnishes except for a wedge of lime. Part of the fun of a Bloody Mary is seeing what fun little garnishes are served with it. For apps, we ordered the Midwest Cheese Curds and Fried Green Tomatoes. Both were tasty, although the batter to cheese curd ratio seemed to favor the batter. Luckily it was a tasty batter. I ordered the Copper River Salad which is field greens with chevre and a salmon burger on top. It was really good. Very filling and I loved the lavash crackers.
