I signed on to write a review thinking there were probably already hundreds on this ice cream spot. NOT ONE! HOW ON EARTH IS THAT POSSIBLE?? This place has homemade, rich and creamy, made fresh daily, ice-cream and it ROCKS. On any given day, Moo Moo's creamery offers about ten flavors or so. As you can see from the website, they make hundreds, so I don't know how they decide what they will make each day, but I am confident that whatever you get, will be delicious. The line was out the door--probably a ten minute wait for a small cone. WORTH IT. They have a nice outdoor porch where the husband and dog can sit and wait till you emerge with the goods. Or there is a beautiful pier across the way with scenic views of the hudson. If you are up in Cold Spring, forget the diet, remember the wallet, and bring time to sit and enjoy this decadent treat. read more

For those finishing the Breakneck Ridge Trail, Moo Moo's Creamery is in an ideal location. (OMG. Let's be real-- knowing that ice cream was waiting for me at the end of that hike helped me get through it!) The young staff was a bit confused, but it was understandable since it was pretty hectic in the small shop. Beyond the confusion, the ice cream was great. There are a number of delicious flavors to choose from-- my Mexican Chocolate and Caramel Cashew were both excellent. Their ice cream is of the fluffy and airy type so eat fast before it melts! I have tried just about every ice cream place in the area and this is one of the best. First off, I always try to find a place that makes their own, after all, that's what a real ice cream parlor does. Some places serve Perry's or Jane's (very good by the way, and from Kingston) but that is still not the same as the ice cream being made on the premises. As far as the ice cream goes there are some unique flavors to choose from , and it is rich and creamy, with generous portions. The price for a small may be a little higher than some places, but you get an amount more like a large. The ambiance is also very cute, and right on the river front. The one dissapointment is that it is closed for the winter and does not open back up until around April. read more

Just like a lot of other yelpers, my boyfriend and I came here after our hike after seeing all the great reviews. The portions are HUGE for 1 scoop...it's more like 2 large scoops so you can definitely share. The ice cream was nice and creamy. I also really liked how the store was right next to the river. You can eat your ice cream on a bench sitting right next to the river and just relax after a long day of hiking. Highly recommend for everyone who's visiting Cold Spring! read more

I wasn't sure if this place would live up to the hype especially because I'm a total weirdo who's not a fan of ice cream. I will have ice cream every once in a while if it's combined with with a warm chocolate dessert but besides that I don't eat ice cream. The ice cream place is right across a beautiful picturesque park overlooking the Hudson. There was a line to even get into the store but everyone was in a good mood and the line moved quickly. I was just happy once we got inside with the air conditioning, the shop is super cute and they have these really amazing photographs of adorable kids eating ice cream. They have a variety of flavors and toppings to choose from but once I saw cake batter option I immediately decided to go with that! I kinda regret not trying a sample of the other flavors to compare them. Once I saw how the huge the servings were I went with one scoop of cake batter on a waffle cone. The portions here are huge so one scoop seems like 3 scoops! This was the best ice cream I've ever had! It was so creamy and delicious, I was stuffed but kept on eating it because it was soo good. If all ice cream tasted like this I would become a fan. If you visit this town make sure you taste this ice cream! read more

CASH ONLY under 5$. This place is super popular on the weekends, but the line out the door will only help you make up your mind. We came after a long hike around 4pm. Hungry, thirsty and in a huge caloric deficit, stumbling upon this iced cream parlor was PERFECT. Get the small scoop with two flavors. Same price, and I feel like you even get a little more than you bargained for originally. The texture of this iced cream is super creamy without making you feel near death. WHen trying iced cream, have a few flavors in mind and tell them at once to the person behind the counter to speed up the process, especially during peak hours. If you have cash on hand, it's probably easier to pay $4.15 for the small scoops because the iced cream scoopers who scoop your iced cream are the ones who ring up your purchase at the register. Because there isn't a designated register lady, the process is a little inefficient, but that's just how they keep track of what you purchased. Faced with the overwhelming number of flavors, I wanted the pistachio because I felt the need for something a bit nutty. When I asked to try this flavor, I was surprised when the lady behind the counter scooped out the pistachio flavor and it was WHITE! You know your iced cream is legit when the pistachio flavor isn't artificially colored green to make up for the lack of flavor. I almost couldn't finish the two flavors in a small scoop (but I did finish it because I paid for it, of course). This is the real stuff, folks! I paired the flavor with peanut butter, but definitely want to return to try the spiced mexican chocolate, black raspberry,maple walnut and salted caramel. This is a cute place in a great spot on the Hudson River in Cold Spring. The portions are fairly large and a good value for the money. I've been here over a dozen times and the flavors (besides the standards) seem to be different each time. Which isn't a problem because you can freely sample them before you buy! Moo Moo's ice cream is the go in Cold Spring if you ever want ice cream. I'm not a huge ice cream fan but this place is unavoidable. They have tons of flavors and they are always busy. I usually go after hiking but I always have to wait. I always try to get different flavors, but my ultimate favorite flavor is the Pomegranate Raspberry Sorbet! They sell pint sized to take home and have all the toppings. There isn't much parking next time we will come on the train, we had to park our zipcar miles away. The serving size is on the plus size beware!. They do samples if you decide you don't know you can always ask for a sample. Service is great and very quick, If you are visiting Cold Spring I would definitely recommend trying this place out! read more
