Walked in on a hot muggy Saturday afternoon excited to get something to cool me off. They didn't have a ton of unique flavors, pretty much the usual. One that stood out to me was fig. I don't really care for figs themselves but had never seen fig ice cream before so I decided to try it out. I'm not too sure how to describe it but it was really good. If your GPS glitches out, just know you have to go under the tunnel where you'll come out next to Rincon and keep walking for a bit. We managed to come during a time with only two or so families in front of us but as we were waiting, the place really filled up. They do offer samples but ... ya know, maybe avoid asking to try five different flavors when there's a massive line. They have classic flavors (strawberry, cookie dough) but also some ones that, had I had a stronger GI system that could handle more dairy, would have gotten the two-scoop option: peanut butter, nilla nilla wafer, Mexican chocolate, maple bacon. I was blown away by the vanilla and cherry that came with enormous chunks of cherry - got the very last scoop in the bucket so I suppose that shows how popular of a flavor this is. I was here a few years back and remember loving it. I came back here again and now with the social distancing guidelines, you are no longer allowed inside the store and instead have to order through the windows. I tried the black raspberry and the s'mores. Both were very creamy and rich. There are also benches by the water right across the street that you can go to enjoy the ice cream. Perfect way to end off the afternoon day tripping in Cold Spring, NY. They stay open pretty late compared to the other ice cream shops in town. Usually until 9:30pm. Sure, the staff are a bunch of high school kids, but when we were there they were more than friendly and helpful. C'mon people, when you were in high school making minimum wage you were a bit confused and not all that focused either. Some reviewing and giving tips on the staff need to lighten up and get over yourselves. The ice cream is terrific! It was so worth taking a walk over to this place before heading to the train station for the ride home. Seemed like 17 or so flavors made daily each day, and after sampling a bunch was torn over which ones to feast on. They were all so good! We went with cherry vanilla and salted caramel. Just wow. It's a small place with some spots to sit at inside and a few spots on the deck outside. You can also head across the street to eat it by the water for some great views. Both were just delish and super creamy! Really, the cherry vanilla is fantastic. Also, the serving size they give you is ridic and so much stuffed on a cone! Great value for the price and way worth it. After the initial sugar rush I passed out on the train ride back to the city. Oh, and they also offer an option to get a bucket sized serving. Quite sad when a business owner lets his ego do the talking. Also a shame that he then blocked the message exchange so I can't show my side of the conversation. I told him his shop was loved by many, both in the Yelp community and in the waterfront. (It is my opinion that his location, being an ice cream shop on the waterfront, is the biggest appeal, but I didn't say that in my messages.) I felt his ice cream was too sweet and as an ice cream lover, I like balance. I want to taste the sweet, the creamy, the flavors, the aromas. He responds to my review by telling me I picked the sweetest flavor. Okay. But we've had cake and caramel flavors elsewhere and they weren't this sweet. I pointed out that the entire menu has crazy sweet flavors since he claimed I chose the sweetest flavors. Again, just responding to his response. He snaps back sarcastically (as you can see in his response or my photo of his response, in case he deletes it) saying it's ice cream, so it's supposed to be sweet. And laughs. I have a sweet tooth. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE desserts and I especially love ice cream and froyo. It does not mean I'll enjoy anything that is excessively and painfully over-sweetened. Best Icecream in NYS. It's a little far from the city but the ride is TOTALLY WORTH it. Icecream is not expensive at all considering how generous are the SUPER BIG portions. Just like their name, LOVED how creamy their ice creams are. I had Oreo but also tried vanilla and some strawberry "something" flavor; ALL of them were delicious!! Definitely recommend this place to all the ice cream lovers out there. I can assure you wont regret coming by! I absolutely LOVE this place, just keep in mind that if your purchase is under $10 it's cash only! This is my absolute favorite place to get ice cream whenever I'm back in the area. I went on a brutal hike yesterday. And if it wasn't for this ice cream shop, I might have not had the sugar high energy to get me to the almost tippy top of Breakneck Ridge!!! 3 of of 4 us all had a "scoop" of ice cream before making the climb. 2 of four of us decided on the "Guiness Chocolate Covered Pretzels". So 2 of us made the perfect ice cream decision. I love Guiness and I especially love the salty sweet combo in desserts. Sometimes you just need that salt to cut into the sweetness. And the chocolate covered pretzels were the perfect touch to the ice cream. I also want to point out the spot is super cute, the staff is made up of adorable teenage townies and the single scoop is absolutely gigantic and a little less than 4 bones. A hot humid day means ice cream every day. After strolling through the quint town of Cold Springs, the need to cool down was crucial. Walked in there ready to conquer whatever I would get my hands on. It is a busy small place so prepare yourself to wait in line. There is a lot of flavors (20) to choose from. You can sample as much as you want before you choose. I had the vanilla oreo caramel. This consisted of vanilla ice creams, chunks of vanilla oreos and swirls of caramel. It was not too sweet, just right. It was also very creamy. The scoops are HUGE!!!! Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather outside, I was faced with the daunting job of shoving huge spoonfuls of ice cream in my mouth instead of savoring it. A melting disaster was at hand. MooMoo's has a lot of interesting flavors and a most ideal location. We couldn't actually enter the creamery, but they did have a very efficient setup with two windows to order from. You take a look at the chalkboard and shout your order to the staff member, and then they bring it over to the window. I had one scoop of vanilla Nilla Wafer in a waffle cone and they very kindly provided it upside down and in a cup. I appreciated this immensely, never having learned how to eat ice cream without winding up with half of it dripping down my arms. The ice cream was freshly made and tasty. The cone was crunchy and not hard. We headed across the street and enjoyed our ice cream with beautiful riverfront views. read more

I LOVE Moo Moo's. I used to frequently come here when I was working over at Hudson Highlands State Park. It's located in the town of Cold Spring, which is an uber cute town along the Hudson. The shop itself is across the street from the riverwalk and there are benches on their porch where you can enjoy your ice cream. They have a pretty size able selection of ice cream flavors and toppings. My favorite were the Dulce de Leche and Cake Batter, but I've tried almost all of their flavors and thought they were great. The employees were always very nice! They have a $10 minimum for your card, so be aware of that. read more

I suggest getting a combination of scoops- live a little and try two or even three at a time. From what I understand the flavors change often. Last night they had tiramisu, Shortcake, Cherry Vanilla, and another hand full of flavors that I wish I could have tried. Once you buy your ice cream you can either sit in front of the shop- or walk across the street and take in the beautiful scenery. WOW, like just WOW. Coming from upstate NY, Stewart's ice cream reigns supreme. There are many imitators, some expensive, some not, and many times they don't even compare. Usually, local ice cream places won't make their own and rely on bargain-basement bottom-of-barrel brands like Perry's, but not this time. However Moo Moo's makes their ice cream, it's unbelievable. I have never had anything like it before and I don't think I ever will. The ice cream is so rich and creamy and has a wonderful taste to it. The flavored varieties don't rely on added flavoring, sugar, or color to achieve the taste, so nothing is overly sugary or artificial-tasting. You won't find that generic fake strawberry flavoring here! After grabbing a scoop or two, you can stroll over to the gorgeous Cold Spring waterfront and soak up the sight on a bench while enjoying your ice cream. And when you're done, throw the cup away in one of the readily available public trash cans which are piled high with empty cups from Moo Moo's! FYI one scoop is actually really big and makes the $4 price tag worth it! I bought the one scoop and the guy was scooping up like 3 scoops and I was like "I hope he heard me when I said one scoop!!" The front porch has a few chairs, but right across the street is a beautiful park on the Hudson River. It is only a block away from the Appalachian trail, so is a good spot for hikers to get a snack. I noticed that the staff was patient with all of the customers as they explained the flavors and allowed them to try them. But, due to the long line of people after me, I felt rushed and I didnt sample the flavors I was eyeing. FACILITY The shop is like any other cute ice cream shop in a suburban town. There's no seating in or outside of the eatery. So, my friends ate our ice cream at a nearby park by the water. Typically, Im cool with that because you can't beat munching on ice cream by a water front. However, the park has limited seating. So my friends and I had to sit by the side of the road to eat our ice cream. I wish there was seating in or outside of the restaurant. Then we wouldn't have to sit in the gutter. FOOD I didn't think that the ice cream was very special. They offer dozens of flavors, but most of the flavors seemed pretty ordinary. Less than a handful were unique. Some were even already run out. That's weird! Its not even close to closing time. I found that to be poor management. They should offer fewer flavors perhaps to ensure they're always in stock. read more
